    History:
The KX85 is a 2-stroke motocross bike made by Kawasaki.
Following it´s succesfull debut in 2001, the KX85 motocrosser
returns with several engine, chassis and styling enhancements.
Descended from the competitive KX80, the KX85 is a strong
durable machine that provides the appropiate competitive edge
for young racers who aren´t quite ready to make the jump to a
    larger-displacement model.
    Flaws: sluggish powerband
    Fixes: porting
    Best Value Mods: Engine: porting
    Suspension: springs
    Engine:
The new exhaust valve system was designed to make the KX-mini competitive with
the RM but it takes to much energy to drive the powervalve governor mechanism
so it slows the engine down.
Porting for more top-end power helps overcome the drag from the governor.
Overall this bike has better suspension than the previous models.
There are more springs available for the forks and shocks, plus the forks have more
modern valving that can be tuned.
    Cylinder Mods:
Porting this cylinder is a bit tricky and should be left to professionals. I use an old exhaust pipe flange to carefully match the junction of the exhaust port and the pipe. Then i raise the exhaust port to 24,5mm and widen each exhaust port 1mm, and narrow the bridge 1mm.
The intake and exhaust bridges are very critical because the edges need to be deburred to minimize the wear of the piston and rings. The transfer ports should be matched to a height of 35,5mm.
    Ignition Changes:
Just rotating the stator plate to Kaw´s prescribed marks will have a slight effect on the power. Advancing the timing will benefit most riders. FMF and Mimic make switchable CDI boxes that enable a big change in the powerband.
    !!!KEEP ON BRAAAAPIN!!!

@@excuter_ninja5795 there much more sensitive to 2 cycle there never running good and when they are it's not consistent problems come left and right when you just get them back running right the left side pipe is poor design let's just say if you like to work on bikes, get you a kx85
