Massive ‘Asian murder hornet’ kills mouse in just SECONDS after experts warns of danger to humans

  • THIS is the moment a giant killer 'Asian murder hornet' brutally attacks a helpless mouse as it writhes on the floor in pain.
    The nightmarish creatures can grow up to two inches in length, have a sting described as feeling like a "hot metal spike" and have even been known to kill humans.
    In the horrifying clip a little mouse can be seen twitching and spasming in agony as the giant hornet latches onto its body.
    The huge creature is almost as large as the mouse.
    It takes just seconds before the mouse stops fighting, and dies.
    Throughout the toe-curling tussle, the hornet can be heard buzzing angrily.
    Up until now, the creatures were exclusively found in Asia but have since been spotted over in the States.
    It's the first time the creatures have ever been seen overseas - with the horrifying clip doing the rounds amid fears they pose a serious threat - not only to wildlife, like bees, but humans too.
    According to the New York Times, the deadly hornets have been spotted in Washington, the country's capital.
    KILLER CREATURES
    Given the chance, they'll wipe out an entire bee colony within hours, reports say.
    The murderous hornets work by decapitating the bees and feeding on their young.
    Shared by TMZ, it's not clear when or where the horrifying footage was filmed.
    The hornets are a sub-species of the Japanese giant hornet, and have a stinger of around 6mm - although have been known to have stingers almost double that - closer to a centimetre in length.
    They inject a deadly venom with each sting that "melts flesh".
    It is described as feeling like a "hot metal spike."
    The Times also warns that up to 50 people who get stung by the creatures a year die - but it's worth bearing in mind the annual average for normal bee, wasp and hornet stings is around 62 deaths per year in America.
    Speaking to Straits Times, one expert said: "The venom itself is fairly toxic and creates localised necrosis around the wound, so you'll see melting flesh around the wound."
    Mr Sven-Erik Spichiger, managing entomologist at the Washington state Agriculture Department also warned due to their size, it's easy for the creatures to inhect multiple large doses of venom.
    He added: "What we are told from the literature is that most people can survive one or two stings.
    "But if you sustain multiple stings, the necrosis and the venom will actually start getting into your bloodstream and will start working on your organs. And multiple stings could literally be fatal."

    How the mouse died the hornet did not even sting him?
    The jaws of a giant hornet can not bite through the skin of a mouse thats why there is no blood
    Maybe mouse was already hurt by something or someone else and the mouse-wasp encounter happened on purpose

      @S4H47 Před 2 měsíci

      @@TSJ99 I don't "know" it, since i was not there when the video was made
      I think it because 1. There's no blood and 2. A healthy mouse would run away and escape once it notice it cannot win the fight against an insect in this particular case
      In this video the mouse looks like it was already hurt, either by someone or something else, or maybe weakened by disease which prevented the mouse from escaping before
      realising it could not win the fight. That's my perspective based on this video, since it's very rare for insects to kill mice. But, i could be wrong of course in this particular rare case

    • @sokefunful
      @sokefunful Před 2 měsíci +4

      @@S4H47it definitely did sting the rat. You don’t see blood because stingers aren’t huge like knives. They’re sharp and thin like needles. It’s why when you see people get stung by bees they’re usually not bleeding. The sting sites tend to swell up due to venom injections during the sting. The mice likely couldn’t move because of the blinding amount of pain it was in getting stung repeatedly. Since the rodent is small it doesn’t take a lot of time for all that venom to spread throughout its tiny body. Wasps become more aggressive as they are approaching death attacking anything it sees with no real good reason other than pure aggression.

    • @S4H47
      @S4H47 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@sokefunful Not trying to advertise some people, but for example, you should watch some video's of a guy on YT named DesertWolfArmory.
      It's basically feding alive mouse to all kind of venomous snakes. Many mouse (not all) survive the most snake bites and their venom for at least 3 minutes.
      And even after getting bit by the venomous snakes, they are physically able to try to escape the enviroment for minutes before finally 'passing away'.
      You're saying this wasp (or it's venom) is so strong the mouse is physically not able to fight-or-flight it, while they are (most of the times) able to do so against snakes ?
      I know snakes do sometimes "dry bite" (which is when they bite without injecting venom), but you can see at the mouse their body reactions if it was a dry bite or not.
