Crazy Catfishing Action (Shallow Muddy Water)

- I had an epic catfishing trip with clients in some super shallow muddy water in the spring the water was so muddy it looked like chocolate milk and we were catching TONS of blue catfish in INCHES of water. I headed back out in the afternoon to get into some more of the epic muddy water blue catfish action in the shallow water since it's one of my favorite ways to catch catfish in the spring or any other time of year.

Nice to see ya again. I almost always fish shallow water around structure or weedy banks. Live bait under bobber is my favorite. Don't know if it does as well as cut bait, but it's exciting to see that big bobber yanked under and the cat take off.

What whisker rod can I use your 85lb braid? My reel set up Daiwa BG 8000? Ps there reels a made for 80lb braid… a problem?
I personally use small spinning reels and medium rods for small cats. It's more fun then overpowering them with bigger tackle

I have an odd request/question being a catfish expert and all, I live in Florida near lake Toho (Tohopicaliga) lake Toho is loaded with Hoplo catfish, (armored catfish) which is delicacy in Guyana Trinidad and Surinam, My wife's Guyanese, I have no luck catching these, Ive tried worms chicken livers and every catfish bait I can think of, These incidentally are invasive so I can harvest as many as i want, Any suggestions?
Chris, there used to be a guy out of Decatur TX that made great fresh catfish bait you could mail order. What happened to him? Can't find on the web anymore. Appreciate the help.

I can catch 4 or 5 decent blues anytime i go on the rivers i fish. I've NEVER caught a flathead and believe me I've tried !
