I've got three more of the same kind on the way so I'll have a total of five to put up once the website is up. I'll be doing other types of knives as well.

    Awesome. And kind of unique use of wrought iron as far as I know. At least in the last two centuries! You’ll have to update us if you ever figure out why the heels had those dark spots. Makes zero difference in the beauty of the blade, but it’s got me curious.

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  Před 3 lety +1

      @@S8tan7 This construction makes it quite easy as the carbon steel is well insulated from any direct heat from below. Wrought iron forge welds very easy since it already contains a bunch of impurities which kinda acts as it's own flux. Give it a go mate. Make sure you soak the piece nicely so it heats up nice and evenly. Cheers!

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  Před 3 lety +2

      Haha me neither, so much character in the individual pieces. I think I did but I'm actually not quite sure. Either way it won't as the grease from your hands will keep nice and protected and you should always wipe off water after using a carbon steel knife.
