I have also been using the Glock 17 Gen 5 for about a year out on the range and it has the been one of the best platforms to try out. I'm 17 at the moment and have been shooting competitively for 5 years now. Target shooting is a really good sport and people shouldn't be scared about guns as the media has put on bad influence on them. It can actually be really fun when guns are used correctly.

Just a pro tip, it's usually best to look in the chamber to verify a firearm is unloaded rather than thinking the extractor is going to do its job, otherwise you may as well rely on the loaded chamber indicator only.

Listen I don't even own a glock 17 gen 5 or any glock but I tell you what, this is absolutely the very next gun I'm buying...in my opinion, the glock 17 is the best 9mm ever made, it's a damn good price, you can customize the shit out of the gun, and it's just as good if not BETTER then guns that are 1000 dollars 1500 dollars....honestly nobody can compete with glock in my opinion, this is coming from a canik owner!

I shoot the absolute best with my 17 and that's the gun I would rely on out of all my guns to know I could truly protect myself and I'm hitting it rather it moves or not....

@@1point3ie99 The Gen 2 doesn't have a rail and the grips are a bit slicker. Both are great but the main reason I went with the Gen 5 mos was the rail and the optic cuts.
Not true. The Glock 17 pistol was just the first pistol Glock made. Glock had 16 other patents before the Glock 17. They make a shit ton more stuff than just guns. Glock was a company long before being a gun company.
@@1point3ie99 gen means generation. All it means is how old the gun is basically. Kinda like iPhone. You have the iPhone 4,5,6,7,8,x,11 and so on instead of them just calling them all iPhone gen 1, gen 2, gen 3 and so on. Make sense? That’s a simple explanation. Basically, as time went on they made upgrades and improvements to the gun. Gen 1,2,3,4 and now we have gen 5.

Recently received my firearms license up here in Canada. Our instructor drilled into us that the firearm should only be called a firearm and not a weapon. We are currently struggling with new laws implemented that restrict our access to firearms. Firearms can only be used for hunting or sport in Canada, and when they are referred to as “ weapons”, it fuels the government with more reasons to ban and remove more firearms from the market.
Canada is a communist/dictatorship country

My first Glock was a 19. Then the model 45 an a model 22 an recently a 43X. I just did a spontaneous purchase for an FDE Gen 5 Glock 17. Can’t wait to test it on the range.

You mean that coyote color ? Cause the real FDE of a Gen5 was only made for the Austrian special forces and not for privat purchase.

You mention that if you can shoot a Glock 17, that you can then shoot a G43x and G19 very well. Full size handguns are actually easier to shoot accurately than compact/subcompact gun. Full size hand guns give you alittle extra weight that makes it actually recoil less, bigger grips so that you can get a better purchase on the gun to mitigate recoil and long barrel/sight radius. So the opposite it actually true. Smaller guns are harder to shoot. I do agree though that I would get a full size gun to start.

The trigger safety is not the only safety the gun has. The manual itself says it has two other safeties which together comprise of (Glocks Safe Action System)
#2) Firing Pin Safety
#3) Drop Safety
Gotta love how the gun was pointed at his neck and chest for a solid 20 seconds while he was showing what comes in the box. Way to go buddy.
I noticed that too, he talks with his hands alot, and didn't stop just bc he had a weapon in his hand.
I agree that the stock sights are fine but on my specific model the front sight was bent and scraped up out of the box. So I bought some night sights for it.
Glock sights are not good, when you get hired on to a department, those Glock Sights will be replaced most likely by 3 Dot Night Sights... There is a reason why most Law Enforcement Agencies and Military Units change the sights out, because they are Plastic.... Most Pistol training is based on 3 dot sight platforms. My suggestion is to switch the sights to Tru Glo TFX Sights or Trijicon HD both are Day/Night sights with an Orange front sight, Amazing for front sight acquisition.
@@marksantillanez8166 yea the plastic they use is so soft. When I push them out with my sight pusher it warps them pretty bad lol. I like the ameriglo orange front post sights a lot.

The best 9mm after you upgrade the barrel, mag release, slide, sights, trigger, guide rod and spring. Once you’ve spent $1300 on it it’s the best 9mm. Well second best the Walther PDP is still significantly better.

Finding these anywhere in stock for under 700 bucks is dam near impossible. Glock is definitely not a 700 dollar gun and I don't care what anyone says. It's not even a 650 dollar gun.

I thought that the 22 Gen 5 was the go to for law enforcement.
Glock 21 Glock 17 Glock 19 Glock 22 are all common law enforcement carry firearms.
I’d say the 17 is most common as most departments get contracts for them because of pricing.
I’ve seen some bigger guys carry the 21 45ACP and some big guys and most regular guys carry the 17, and I’ve seen a lot of female officers carry the 19 or the 17

G45 all the way, its basically an updated G19X (GEN 5), you can now order them from Glock with Night Sights. It only comes in Black....

Hey man I need some advice and suggestions but honestly I'm in Philadelphia Pennsylvania i have my ccw concealed license to carry i conceal carry 2 i.w.b inside the waste 2 glock 17 gen 3 with 6 spare mags in each cargo pocket i use only 124+p Speergolddot 9mm im working class but I've been wanting a .308 or .556 but do I really need it? Can I use my glock 17 for street, home and is 9mm good enough? If someone had an ar-15 and I was in a supermarket godforbid and he started mass shooting and in order to save myself and others all I had was glock 17 9mm could I take him down to stop the threat?
