Nah, I'm just kidding. Here are the weapons I break down. Many are at least theoretically possible-though not all of those are "good".

Devil May Cry 5 is a 2019 action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom. It is the sixth installment overall and the fifth mainline installment in the Devil May Cry series. Capcom released it for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on 8 March 2019. The game takes place five years after Devil May Cry 4 and follows a trio of warriors with demonic powers, the returning Dante, Nero, and a new protagonist named V, as they attempt to stop the Demon King Urizen from destroying the human world. Across their journey in Red Grave City, the player can use these characters in different missions. Each of them has their own way of fighting and becoming stronger. As this happens, the mystery behind V is revealed, along with his connection with Urizen.
Devil May Cry 5 was directed by Hideaki Itsuno whose goal was for this installment to be his best work. He aimed to balance the game for newcomers and returning gamers by providing various difficulties and challenges. Capcom also wanted to bring a more realistic design inspired by the RE Engine used in their previous work, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. As a result, real-life people were used to make the character's faces. The plot was written by returning writer Bingo Morihashi while the setting was based on various locations in London. Multiple composers worked together to produce the game's audio, creating three main themes centered around the playable characters.
On 16 May, devil hunter Nero hunts a demon named Urizen after a dying man takes his demonic arm and the sword Yamato. Traveling to Red Grave City, he finds a demonic tree called Qliphoth planted in the city, killing people for their blood. Dante's group confronts Urizen but, empowered by the Qliphoth, the new demon king incapacitates them and overpowers Nero when he intervenes. Dante stops Urizen from capturing Nero but is defeated and ejected from the Qliphoth with his sword Rebellion shattered. His allies Lady and Trish are captured to be used as demon-cores while a client of Dante, V, convinces the weakened Nero to escape. saihatOn 15 June, Nero returns to Red Grave outfitted with the "Devil Breaker" prosthetic arm, made by his friend and gunsmith, Nico. Nero meets up with V, who is seeking Qliphoth for its fruit-born of condensed human blood-which makes whoever consumes it the king of the Underworld. As the pair destroy the Qliphoth's roots while searching for Dante, Nero rescues Lady while V splits off to discover the Devil Sword Sparda - along with a hibernating Dante, whose presence was hidden by the sword.
After awakening from his coma, Dante frees Trish and begins fighting his way to Urizen.Trish learns from V that Urizen is the demon-side of Dante's brother Vergil, who used Yamato's power to separate his demon and human halves - the latter manifesting as V, whose body is breaking down. Realizing Yamato has an unbelievable capability of separating humanity and the devil, Dante questions himself whether his Rebellion also has a hidden potential, believing both legacy weapons have incredible power on their own. After stabbing himself with his broken Rebellion, Dante unlocks his full demonic power and a new weapon, the "Devil Sword Dante," by absorbing Rebellion and Devil Sword Sparda into his body. Nero attempts to confront Urizen again and is overpowered once more, but Dante rescues him and gains the upper hand with his new powers. Urizen takes his leave when the Qliphoth bears fruit and consumes it to empower himself further. While Dante arrives first to face Urizen, Nero rescues V from the demon Malphas and learns of Dante's history with Vergil. Nero and V reach Dante just as he defeats Urizen, but a dying V intervenes and merges with Urizen before Dante can finish him, reviving Vergil. - Zábava
I'm pretty sure it's mentioned somewhere that Dante uses magical demon bullets he puts into the gun without reloading, using magic. Being half demon just makes life easier.
That means that even though Ebony and Ivory are California Compliant (1911 standard mags are 7 rounds, plus one in the chamber), he could mow down demons with infinite ammo as needed. Not that California has the jurisdiction to keep a Legendary Devil Hunter from operating in the middle of Downtown LA if they've got a demon problem.
That, and he can also fire shots charged with demonic energy, which may use E/I rounds or are purely made of condensed demon energy. Same with his Coyote shotgun. The charge shot description for it is that it's a demonically charged slug round, which is obviously not the usual buckshot he loads into it.
@@Foxxie0kun actually they do not, those pistols were custom made for Dante specifically for his demonic heritage similar to how his father had a pair of Pistols made for himself as well.
@@zachbahamutson5477 Actually, despite the fact that Ebony and Ivory were custom-tooled, their frames were based on the frames of M1911 pistols. As heavily modified as they are, the frames being based on M1911 pistols isn't something that has been changed, and neither of them are sporting a notably elongated magazine.

One thing about the biue rose, the first bullet is made to penetrate and break the natural armor of demons and the second bullet to do the most damage in the weak spot created
Huh... That's actually possible if you have one load firing a lighter bullet going faster, and one heavier, slower bullet...
Not just that, but there's actually a delay between when the first and second rounds are fired. (Refer to the opening cutscene to see what I mean)

@@MarcusVance the cylinder is shared between both barrels so I assume that the top barrel has more firepower while the bottom one has less.
@@MarcusVance not sure that make sense still. You can just load the magazine of a full auto rifle/shotgun so that the bullets alternate between high penetration and high damage.
The first bullet is armor piercing and the second is explosive for maximum damage

Interestingly, the engine on the Red Queen isn't actually for dealing fire damage, that's just sort of a side-effect. The actual intention of it is to increase the force of your swings, by firing it right before your swing connects and propelling the blade forward harder. And, in universe at least, there's a logical reason for this feature.
You see, Nero didn't actually design the Red Queen from scratch himself. The engine sword was a weapon used by The Order of the Sword, who are humans who fight against demons. Humans are considerably weaker than demons, and so the lead scientist of The Order created the engine sword to allow humans to swing hard enough to actually harm demons effectively.
Now, I'm sure you're thinking, _"That sounds cool, but wouldn't that much force destroy a human's arm?"_ However, the swords normally have a rev limiter, which limits the power output of the engine, specifically so that humans _don't_ rip their arms off when using it. Nero, being half-demon and WAY stronger and more durable than a human, just customized it and removed the rev limiter so it could be more powerful.

Even with Nero having demonic lineage (i.e, repairing Yamato through sheer motivation, having Devil Bringer, and a DT), ditching the limiter causes him to follow through with swings more than intended and slide around wildly. This also does help with getting more distance on lunges and more height on launchers to follow up with funny juggles, but the sheer force he puts into his swings combined with rocket propulsion causes him to fucking FLY.

Just wanna clear up something about Ebony & Ivory. In DMC5, it's TOTALLY possible to use them as described in the game. Upon engaging the Gunslinger Style, E&I can be fired separately, one with a three shot burst fire to simulate rapid fire, and the other is a hard single shot that can stagger most foes. Both can work at absurdly long ranges, so you have the accuracy requirement checked off to boot. Firing them separately actually counts as individual combos, so when you've maxed out the (hidden) combo "cooldown" build-up for one gun, you can start using the other gun to continue the climbing of the combo rank.
It's honestly rather impressive that the developers went out of their way to allow the players to actually engage with lore accurate versions of those iconic 1911's.
Don't forget twosome time, which is literally firing at two different enemies at once.
@@yapflipthegrunt4687 While true, that didn't show the lore-accurate features to Ebony and Ivory until 5. Speaking of which, though, in DMC5 Two-Some-Time has two "modes" depending on what gun you start the move with, which I think is really neat and allows for interesting strategies.

@@grantgarbour and his demonic strength keeps his firing keyhole (how much your hand staggers after firing a shot) incredibly tight so his own accuracy is even less of an issue.
So the engine bit of Red Queen is actually less used for fire damage but more so to essentially make it rocket-powered. So would the added torque be useful assuming the wielded could control it?
problem is that the engine part is put lower on the blade meaning most of the push would just push the hand of the user away on contact, unless you have devil strength .
It's kinda both. It's canon that the exceed system coats the blade in some sorta flammable liquid (I don't remember what exactly) and ignites it, and unless I'm mistaken, the engine is part of the system, no? Or is that part of Nero's separate mods he's done?
@@themorrigan1312 I’m pretty sure in the DMC4 tutorial fight nero revs a regular blade that the order of the sword uses, so maybe that was a common thing for the order? And if so, I’d guess red queen was specifically modified for Neros superior strength with more powerful accelerant or better engine, etc. Also I might be wrong but I think I remember the angelo type enemies also have thrusters/boosters in their lances and swords

The thing with ebony and Ivory, is that you are entirely correct. They aren't the most effective but Dante knows that, it's a personal splash of style and utility for him. Without any assistance from his demonic power all they can do is stun an enemy for a short amount of time. So they are ineffective but that's the point
they're also designed so that he won't break them when he shoots them, since every gun he used before them ended up breaking from his use
Not entirely correct, the guns have especial demonic charged bullets that make them have infinite ammo and he can also overcharge it for a stronger shot

i think you're talking about gameplay dante. cutscene dante one shots everything with those guns. i think gameplay dante just wants to style, so he holds back. i can never figure out the power level of those guns because of those cutscene/gameplay differences
Nero does do a fair amount of thrusting with the tip on his sword, that's a nice use of that tip, where many other things just say 'the curved sword never thrusts.' these often take the form of impaling the enemy on the sword and then you rev the sword for more damage while it's still in them, so there are brief moments when the fire of the sword might actually be able to take hold.
I've been asking for this for a long time, thank you for covering one of my favorite series. Also a side note for Ebony and Ivory, canonically Dante shoots his demonic energy through them so he doesn't have to reload, because when he used regular pistols they would always break after a mission because they can't handle the speed he pulls the triggers
Should we show him Devil Sword Sparda, Devil Sword Dante, Nevan, Pandora, anything from the reboot, or let him see Kalina Ann and DUAL Kalina Ann?
sometimes in life you need to dual wield slightly ridiculous Bazooka's. Its totally natural.
Dante would work, if a bit hefty so you may need to use it more... defensively, bracing the blade against your non-dominant arm and slamming someone with the side for instance. Sparda is a different can of worms. Not only is it flesh, bone, and metal, but it's also a fuckin scythe. Pandora is more like a bag of holding as a suitcase nevan is a literal electric guitar which at most would assault your ears irl, normal kalina anne seems fine, double with the gun lance rocket shit? Yeah say goodbye to your ribs

I would think a sword that shoots flammable oil up the blade or flings it when it attacks could work as a flaming sword. I mean it might suck but idk
I was thinking the same thing. Setting the blade on fire wouldn't make much sense, but shooting out burning liquid along the blade could work better. You could do something similar to (but a bit different from) Sword of night and flame from Elden ring.
Not sure how much fuel you could hold or if you could pull it off more than once, but doing it just once could be very distracting and demoralizing to the opponent(s).
Only problem is you'd probably set your self on fire
Not sure if this was mentioned, but in Visions of V manga it is revealed that V’s cane has some metals from the demon world mixed in. It is a tiny amount, but enough to finish off deamons, making it the only way for a physically weak V to be able to finish off demons, hence why he mostly uses it for finishers. Also explains the royal fork move - V is using the cane’s innate demonic power. Not his own.

I think some good weapons to look at would be the ones from “Killing Floor 2”.
Some notable ones are the Vlad-1000, Eviscerator, Pulverizer, Static Strikers, Frost Fang, and the Seal Squeal.

Any sword is good as long as you don't use prolonged reverse grip
Reverse grip could put the wheel into the ground more easily though, so you could stab them both into the ground and hope you can run fast enough. An advancing guard!

The thing about Dante’s guns is that it was created by Neil Goldstein, a very talented gunsmith, which she created that could handle Dante’s very fast shots cause every time Dante uses normal guns it usually breaks (I forgot the details just read dmc1 novel) As for blue rose or Nero’s gun it was said that he created it by himself and same goes to Ivory and ebony created by Sparda. It’s kinda hard to know when they reference it to a real gun but put some buff on it (tho I’m not a gun expert this is actually pretty interesting)
The moment someone pulls a sword on me, I am most definitely running but if that thing had an engine that set it on fire, I am running faster because this man clearly fears nothing.

All DMC Weapons are all unrealistic when just Ebony and Ivory itself can one shot someone and blow up one's entire atoms and molecules. This is only in the lore and cutscenes tho since in gameplay they're pretty useless when you are trying to do some damage.
Guns killing everything is pretty accurate for DMC2. The good games just leave those shenanigans for cutscenes lol

I was going to say something about all the impractical weapons bring used by characters with inhuman dexterity, strength, reaction time, etc. but then I remembered Lady and Kalina Ann.
The blue rose's bullets are a millisecond off between firing because the top barrel shoots an explosive round to penetrate demon armor then a hollow point to bite into the soft spot from the previous bullet and it works in a way so the first bullets can explode then the next one can hit without any problems
Dual wielding guns has its advantages.
You can shot two targets at the same time that are in opposing directions. If you are facing hordes of enemies this will come in hand very often.
You can also lock at two targets in a 3 way Mexican standoff.
Yes, Dante can do that via Twosome Time, or just go completely haywire with Rainstorm and Honeycomb, but he also has demon strength keeping his aim from wavering from the recoil after every pull of the trigger. Also his aim is just cracked anyways to the point of his shots doing literally whatever the goddamn hell he wants it to, right down to literally shooting pool with a bullet as the cue ball.

It's worth noting ; the game doesn't do Dante's guns 'right' outside of DMC5's Gunslinger use of them I believe... One is meant to be 3-round burst fire, while the other is a stronger, harder hitting single shot style of gun, designed so Dante could use both at once(explained somewhere for Nero's two-barreled revolver "one bullet blasts off the tough demon hide, the other delivers actual damage" or something like that, and presumably for the same or similar effect).
Speaking of "Hat Weapons" What are your thoughts on the hats used in the show Peeky Blinders? It has razor blades sewn in and I believe there is some historical truth to that but couldn't confirm totally.

One thing to note in game with ebony and ivory, as standard, firing uses both at once. Interestingly, with the gunslinger style, the shoot button and style button are for one pistol each

I think Red queen's motorcycle fuel injection isnt for the flame to burn people, in game the blade actively swings harder and faster when you use it with EX, gauge so I think its more for propulsion

I think I've heard that the Blue Rose's main barrel fires a round that pierces Demon armor (like FMJ or something?) And the secondary barrel fires what seems to be a hollow point round. One breaks the armor, one brings the pain. Brutal.

He duel wields the gun because they have different uses. Iirc, Ebony has a powerful single shot, while Ivory has a triple burst shot. That's what the wiki says at least.
2:46 V, the character who uses the cane dorsn't go bonking demons with it. He has a parrot, a cat and a weird golem thing to attack for him. He just uses the cane to bonk when the demon is at 1 hp
on the subject of dual-wielding; I do agree that it's realistically impractical in most real life scenarios it would be impractical, but there are a couple uses where dual-wielding can make sense that he missed. Plus, the gamespot CZcams channel has a loadout series that covers iconic firearms or aspects of such in gaming and pop culture, had an episode on dual-wielding/akimbo pistols, so there's that:
1) engaging targets in multiple directions. There was a scene in a Schwarzenegger movie called Last Stand, that he did after he was done with his job as a governor. it was a brief scene with a baddie that was using two pistols (Glocks or that style, I think) and was laying down suppressing fire and pinning down two of the protagonists in two different directions behind their cover, in some kind of stairway place in some house or somewhere I forget how they got him but he was bleeding out and dying and still firing his guns. not the best display of dual-wielding effectiveness, but yeah
2) if you have the right holster/mag-carrying setup you can have a scenario where you can lay down your own covering fire while you reload; something along the lines of Angelina Jolie's depiction of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider movies. a scene in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots had a scene where Meryl Silverberg was holding the line with two desert eagles: czcams.com/users/clipUgkxXPIXVIPonYbLZuObgoR0LXtv8JiwPffr

So the reason he dual wields Ebony and Ivory is because the difference isnt just the color. Ebony is specifically designed for accuracy, meanwhile Ivory is made for rapid fire, and able to withstand Dantes trigger finger
Ebony and ivory are design to be indestructible because Dante can pull the trigger so fast like it is an automatic that he just broke them
Dante could just use a regular semi auto but it's cooler when you could just pull the trigger as fast as a semi auto
as we all know, the two giant dual wielding chainsaw motorcycle halves are the most realistic weapon in the entire game.

Ebony and Ivory are actually modified in separate distinct ways so that Ebony is built for accurate target shooting and Ivory is built for rapid fire. They each serve different purposes and given how it’s highly likely for him to need to contend with enemies near and far at the same time, wielding both of them instead of switching makes perfect sense. It’s not exactly clear those differences exist when looking at them but that’s the point, they’re metaphors for good or light and evil or dark thus the names Ebony and Ivory, as such the differences are mostly in color or the portraits on the grips. I mean Ebony has target sights and a spur hammer while Ivory has combat sights and a ring hammer but most people won’t notice little differences like those.

I don't think that Red Queen's motor attachment lights the actual blade on fire, but instead adds extra power to the moves by turbocharging them.

Capcom's teams that work on the dmc and resident evil games are very knowledgeable on firearms. To the point where they make model version you can buy and they go very in depth explaining the mechanics of said guns.

The Kalina Ann, a rocket launcher with a bayonet. Which is definitely an interesting combo.
Can you fit a bayonet to it, of course you can. But a rocket launcher isn't the type of weapon used at ranges where you might need a bayonet, if you have any concern for your own safety. Perhabs if instead of loading explosive, loading canister shots (I assume the rounds would need being designed, definitely possible but probably do not exist), turning it into a low-velocity huge-caliber shotgun, then it's safe for the user at close range. But then a shotgun would be a better choice.
Late response hope you don't mind. The Kalinna Ann's bayonet can be fired like a grappling hook to spider man yourself up high places or snatch up foes. It's dumb, but it's dumb fun.

You forgot about the kind of 500 magnum that blue rose uses, nico explains that the top barrel fires a fmj with a higher muzzle velocity and the bottom one fires a hollow point with more mass, almost like nero designed it specifically to fight armoured enemies... Like his fellow former order mates... Wait wtf

From what I have tested personally;
- dual wielding guns is just like dual wielding swords ...if the user is skilled enough the two weapons can do two different tasks in the same time like switching target or laying down surprising fire into two different directions
Yet again just like swords you need to be good with each hand ....some fancy moves would require a strong photographic memory in order to track the target from two different weapons
Dante’s pistols were made to be bulky so Dante wouldn’t break them also his hand stops where that little disk part is so the spikes don’t hit him

My only problem with red Queen is that it's made of human steel, I'm pretty sure it would become blunt like the second time you hit anything, also the flaming thing is just for show, the point on the rev up mechanic is for the whole "hot knife thru butter" thing, it's not about tge blade catching fire, it's about it being red hot
Is it tho? It's confirmed that the Angelo enemies in dmc4 are based off and use material from Nelo Angelo's armor. Considering Agnus was making the weapons to go along with them, it's safe to assume that material was also used in the Order's swords.
And with the existence of the Gilgamesh metal, it's safe to assume they would have some of it on hand if they are dealing with demon stuff.

Ebony and ivory don't use normal rounds. They eqch have a different ammunition type. One has hollow point bullets while the other armor piercing. Can't remember which has which tho.

I think according to lore Dante shoots way way faster than what a normal gun could handle so his dual handguns are custom made and can handle the fire rate. This would then mean that Dante can fire the guns way faster than automatic weapons and the extra gun makes a big difference
Fairly sure Blue Rose fires a hollow point on the second shot as well

Even in modern times, an edged weapon is still intensely dangerous. Kevlar doesn't prevent a stab wound. This is why knives are standard issue military equipment. The reason we don't use swords anymore is because they're unwieldy when you're carrying a gun, but if a dude picks up a sword: Run. You WILL get cut.
