Devil May Cry 5 Dante's Ebony & Ivory's "45 Caliber Artwarks" mistake fixed explanation. What's up guys? RBG here, bringing you another video pertaining to Devil May Cry 5. It's been a good month since the game's released. So I think I've given the viewers plenty of time to experience the game for themselves before I started putting out spoilerish uploads. In the last upload we unveiled the history of how Nero and Nico met. It's was pretty cool read that showed how the two had more in common than they thought. So I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. In today's upload we'll be catching up with the Goldsteins and what they were up to before the events of Devil May Cry 5. And exactly how Dante got the late Nell Goldstein's trademark insignia corrected on his dual pistols. It's something that probably went over a lot of fan's heads but we're gonna talk about it and go into a brief origin of the legendary mistake that's confused the DMC community for over a decade. Now I just wanna disclose that the information I'll be providing comes from the official novel called Devil May Cry 5: Before The Nightmare. And it's written by the game's scenario writer, Bingo Morihashi. So no, this isn't some fan made clickbait. If you think I'm wasting 10 minutes of your time then I suggest going to read the translations for yourself. The 1's who want a highly edited and narrated video can stick around. But before we do that I wanna remind the viewers that this video is sponsored by Beautiful Halo. If you're a man or woman of culture who loves anime, games, and dank memes then I highly recommend checking out their merch. They have a wide variety stylish hoodies and other cool apparel that'll have your friends mad jelly. By using this promotional link you get 5% off any $49 purchase or higher. #DevilMayCry5 #DmC5 - Hry
Weapons Smiths often need to be just as exceptional as the heroes who wield their works.
You ain't lying about that.
The Goldstein family are the most American in the series lol.
Lol I know right
It makes it better that they have a hillibilly accent
Nico has a gun shop, so she was probably running it during the previous games. Lady was one of her best customers.
Nico was one of the best parts of DMC5 so it's cool to see more info about her and her family. These details explain alot actually lol.
Hunter5 she was cool, but her accent grated on my ears.
@@godshollownutsack9272 Yea just a bit lol.
@@Hunter-rb5up yeah I’ll admit, Nico’s awesome, but her accent’s a little heavy, y’know?
So we're finally back with more Devil May Cry lore. Today we uncover the mysteries of the error made on Dante's twin pistols, Ebony & Ivory. And catch up with the Goldstein family and their origin. Those familiar with the Hellsing series may have noticed that I used a certain character's likeness to describe 1 of the Goldsteins featured in this video. The link to the translation will be at the bottom of this comment.

RandomBlackGamer bring more of DMC novels and Vergil’s novels to be in more of your video
Wait so there was a spelling mistake? What does the fixed version say now?
"45. Art Works"
Wow what a great story about the Goldstein family and it made a whole lot of sense cause now I just learned much more about Nico's past and family..
So Nico's uncle is the French guy from Hellsing ultimate? Lol
My thoughts exactly lol
Epic story wholsome as hell just makes u feel the characters more and more its beautiful how nico is not blood related to niel but still she is some how close to her it shows being close to someone doesn't need blood relation it need
MOTIVATION
Blood is where family begins not where it ends.
Ebony and ivory come together in perfect harmony............
While I honestly think Dante should've been told about the significance of it and left it alone in honor of Neil Goldstein, I can also see it as a way for Rock Goldstein to *FINALLY* move on in regards to his mother and to do his own thing as a gunsmith.
That's a good way of looking at it. I think if it was something he held sacred he would've told Dante. I also think it's a way of him making his mom proud by adding to her work.
Its really cool how everyone ends up being connected together, and it likes like everyone is gonna be equipped with Goldsteins craftsman, hope my man vergil gets something cool as well
I hope so too. Dude deserves his own novel.
Yeah, how they tied together everything in Devil May Cry 5 is a wark of art.
I see whatcha did there ^_^

Much appreciated and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Don't forget to hit that notification bell to stay notified because there's more on the way.
Back when it still was "art warks", instead of fixing it they wrote some lore about it, and I loved it =) When I first saw that in DMC5 it's "art works", it made me sad for a moment: I thought they just silently retconned it. But now I know that they still aknowledge "art warks" and wrote even more lore about it, so I'm happy =)
I never noticed, I have these gun as my wallpaper on my phone.
3:43 “He became REBELLIOUS.”
Me: “Heh, wacky-woohoo-pizza”
Love this stuff so much man plz keep it going
I will as long as you guys keeping liking and sharing.
I loved this!!! It’s so touching!!! 😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Man the ashitamukkate in the background always brings me to tears... Yu yu hakusho..you Rock brother.
That was beautiful man
This was a great video and also makes me envious that we don't get an English release of the manga u sourced I'd buy that so fast even if just available digitally... oh well 🤷🏾♂️ keep up the great content @rgb 👍🏾
Thanks. Hopefully they reconsider giving us the novels in English.
I love this lore videos. So cool.
Woooo, more Devil May Cry!
what is that of course dropped a like for the video this was dope you should definitely do more of these explanation videos I love the picture in the background oh my God 😂
Thanks man 😁
Damn it man why you got me crying out here
Finally heard your voice
After i saw your "dmc3 all cutscenes" a thousand times when i was young lol
Very interesting. You know, I'm still hoping we get a new Devil May Cry 4K collection on discs with DMC 1, 2, 3 SE, and 4 SE...
Awwwwww, such a moving story.
Now it make sense why dante call nico doesn't look like nell when they're first meet
it does and i look at it and im thinking, wow it explains alot and i did the shoutout on my twitch stream for dmc5 and it had great points
Love this.
I want to hear more about of this story
As long as you guys support and share then I'll continue.
@@RandomBlackGamer alright then
you are right belief it was an memento of her beloved child i think.
Thanks.
Im over here still waiting on that DMC anime for Netflix
Like the FFXV Hammerfell theme in the background of this video
Good ear 😉
Using that OST from Yu Yu Hakusho sniff.
I love these guns
They re pretty awesome.
The Yu Yu hakusho music tho 👌
So he worked at Uroboros? Time for a Resident Evil DMC crossover game.
This has always confused me. The older games said *HE* made them, and the newer ones say someone else made them.
yes
I had no idea Agnus was Nicos dad.
Yup. It was eluded to in the game.
it's like about Nero being Vergil's son in DMC4 - never stated outright, but you can piece it together by reading Nico's reports on enemies. She would write that her dad is from Fortuna, from the Order of the Sword and also very familiar with human-like demons in armor, also it is mentioned in cutscenes that Nico's dad was killed by Dante.
Nico is Agnus's duaghter right? If im not mistaken, that wld then assume nero met nico when they were children.
RBG great vid as always! I have a Nero related question tho so for those who haven't beaten the game yet SPOILERS ahead
.
.
.
.
So in Mission 20 where Nero gets his DT+ right arm back, is his right arm like a real human arm or is it like a holographic projection? We see later on in mission 20 he puts on a new and improved devil breakerand while doing so his new arm kinda disperses into blue aura to make room for the devil breaker..Was hopin you could maybe provide an answer as you always find the most authentic sources for DMC lore.
I think its it his actual arm but its demonic so he can probably make it vanish when he wants so he can use the breakers.
cool
I'm not crying you're crying 😭
I'm definitely shedding manly tears
The picture at 4:06 is Pip Bernadotte from Hellsing ..wtf
Yeah. I said that I'd be using a certain character's likeness from Hellsing for the main character.
Sad story
No wonder Ebony and Ivory are in SMT3
TYSM. It's great story and confirming some confusion.
Yes, it's hard receive that Agnus is Nico's real biological father. I know they have same appearance, but just their ideology is completely different.
when the bg music is from ffxv hammerhead gas station
Rock should be the hero in dmc 6
Nooo Dante, whyd you want this spelling mistake on your guns corrected? "Art warks" was a legacy!
I thought the Goldstein thing wasn't canon, since the book wasn't
If you're referring to the novels not being canon they definitely are. And the Goldsteins are referenced throughout Devil May Cry 5.
@@RandomBlackGamer They must have made it canon with the new games. Could have sworn the novels weren't
@@RandomBlackGamer I thought the events in the Devil May Cry Volume 1 novel conflicted with DMC 3
@@memebot6490 They did. Especially after Itsuno took over the story. But they didn't go ahead with the retcon until Bingo consulted with Kamiya. I guess they rectified what they could regarding the guns at least.
RandomBlackGamer Oh ok. That's cool. I always liked that origin story.
First status. Now let me watch this video.
In the novel it was neils mistake due to her not being educated therefore she made that spelling mistake so now it's retconned.
If neil were to be canon again i think dante should meet her before devil may cry 3 because if i can remember they met before the events of devil may cry 1 when dante had the alias tony redgrave.
Nell is cannon
someone knows the intro soundtrack?
final fantasy 15 hammerfell theme. It is where you meet Cindy and she pimps your car in the beginning of the game.
I thought it was beautiful and tragic
yu yu hakusho ost bro respect
DEVIL IS CRYING.
Why Not Do Some Darksiders Lore?
Not really familiar with that franchise.
@@RandomBlackGamer Its Like DMC Meets God Of War You Would Like It
@@soultiger267 Yeah I think I remember THQ reaching out to me asking me to cover the lore before their game came out a while back.
soultiger 267 I'd say more Zelda and GOW than dmc
Make fastest transformers list. Please
Could you explain why dante never needs to reload his guns
That's more than likely due to him infusing the guns with his demon energy
@@RandomBlackGamer so hes summoning bullets like vergil summons swords.
That's sad
In a good whey
Yeah it's a pretty heartfelt story.
Aprantly their design is based on the M1911
5:39 WHY DOES AGNUS LOOK
LIKE THE ROCK?!?!?
So am I the only guy that thinks roc looks like the guy from hellsing?
am I the only one who thinks keeping artwarks is more characteristic of Dante?
Someone said Dank memes?
No one has a happy childhood in his seriese.
this is sad
Wtf did you lose 200,000 subs how
Not sure what you're talking about
@@RandomBlackGamer I swear u had 500 k subs
@@helium_exe1537 Nah I've never had that many subscribers.
@@RandomBlackGamer okay I was just concerned
@@helium_exe1537 its cool man.
