I appreciate how Dante stays true to character in this one, It's kinda rare for Death Battle IMO. The fact that he allows himself to get beaten up and then makes jokes before getting serious really feels right for him
Dante in a odd way heavily resembles Kenpachi in the sense he has to constantly hold back or else there is no enjoyment in the fight. However it seems like one of the big differences is Kenpachi can find fun with weak opponents if he lowers himself to their level. While Dante seems almost bored and has to make a joke to keep interested.

Might need to redo this. Since we now have both DMC 5 and Bayonetta 3. Dante has sin devil trigger now and as of Bayonetta 3, turns out, she can in fact, regenerate from seemingly mortal wounds as she's capable of ripping her own heart out and regenerating it. Killing her demons doesn't depower her nor does it actually inflict meaningful damage on said demon, we now have canon proof via cinematic that Bayonetta's summoned demons can physically die and reincarnate in mere seconds. And lastly, Hell in the Bayonetta'verse is fully capable of sustaining a multiverse worth of Bayonettas. But most importantly, Dante has a motorcycle weapon. And Bayonetta has a train. It's the ultimate rematch.
@@Laerei There's a cutscene in bayo 3 where she is impaled by a Giant wolfman twice her size, with a claw that was as large as her torso. It happens on screen. She instantly heals it as soon as he removes his claw and proceeds to beat him in a boss battle immediately after. She wasn't fatigued or fazed in the slightest after the stab.
8 years later and this is still one of the top animations they've made for sure. The actual animation itself does show it's age a bit with really low detail settings and rigid facial expressions, but the choreography for this death battle is probably some of the best in the series, ESPECIALLY the early portion in the church. It's still really great
Yeah the fight was so good even without the smoothest graphics it still made my pixels go down. Just wish the power scaling was more accurate because they forgot the bayo car feat which shows that she is 101quadrillion times the speed of light so I think bayo would win but excellent fight anyway

I Always love fighting style of the original Devil May Cry game on the PS2 i wish they add the fighting style of the spin-off version of DmC in the new Devil May Cry 5 though and mix it together with the original game play style with the spin-off version game play but never the Story from DmC because the spin off story sucks
So with cutting through dimensions, the implication being made here is the Yamato can essentially cut through anything. I disagree, and there's a lot to contradict this. The numerous times Dante/Rebellion/Red Queen and the Yamato clashed and the aforementioned swords weren't shattered. We now know the rebellion is now destructible and there's no reason to think the Dante sword is also indestructible (though the threshold to break it is likely on par as the Sparda or higher). Lady blocked it with her rocket launcher. Dante stopped it with his hand as Vergil stopped Dante's sword with his hand. Rebellion again clashes with it as Nero wielded the sword. It was encountered fractured in 4. Nero's projectile slash from the Yamato (perhaps on par or stronger than when Dante used it since Nero was able to repair it and it resonated with him) doesn't go through entire buildings as it should if it's slicing power were essentially infinite. Dante had to use bullets to force it through a weakpoint after he jams it in as opposed to just going through with a poke, showing there's resistance. Sanctus outright blocks a projectile slash from Nero's Yamato both with his hand and with his own projectile which terminates in an explosion but leaves the environment intact. Urizen uses the sword to make a shield which can be broken. There's a lot contradicting it's ability to cut through anything. Vergil also never uses the ability to make portals itself as an attack or he would have done so against Dante. He likely doesn't do it because he can't or it just wouldn't be effective compared to using the projectiles yamato has or just using the sword itself directly.
I think it’s hilarious how in most death battles, if just one of the fighters speaks up, they can avoid a fight. For example, if Dante just tells bayonetta that he HUNTS demons while being part demon himself, there would be a chance that they would decide not to fight. I don’t know why, I just find it really funny.

Bayonetta had powers before meeting Butterfly. It's a requirement in order to even attempt a contract. They have to be proficient in their abilities or they can't really make a contract. This video also had Dante be immortal when no such thing is ever established in the series and implied Bayonetta could only take the same damage as a normal person could, which is blatantly false. See 10:12 to 10:30 for some examples.
Cutting through dimensions really hampers healing factors, I guess. Then again, Bayonetta would have lost all of her powers one Madamma Butterfly was killed, so she was fucked either way.
I really enjoyed the Ryu/Jin fight, but even after all these years I think this may possibly be the best Death Battle ever made. The action transitions are so smooth even a few of the quick weapon switches by Dante were so flawless they’re easy to miss if you aren’t paying close attention.

Most people who bring up Royal Guard do it with the implication that Dante can be untouchable because he can block anything in the game provided it's timed and therefore theoretically be undefeatable. I bring up Urizen he beats Dante, and therefore shows that he is still fallible despite having royal guard. Otherwise people assume that Dante can block any and all of Bayonetta's attacks when there's no basis for this, and they often don't do the reverse (Bayonetta dodging all of Dante's attacks to be untouchable, her using her own guard etc.) There's also the fact that Dante clearly gets hit multiple times, and even in gameplay if Dante is caught within a grab, he can't block the ensuing damage.

Why do people have this misconception about Bayonetta have a strong enough regen skill to counter Dante’s abilities? Every game shows that she has a limit. Especially the third one that shows if she takes too much damage she’ll fall. Dante has yet to show his limit.

minor context: Vergil and Dante are both multiversal. Idk if low-multi or complex multi, but def not just uni but multi. Nero would also scale to them.
To be fair, he *did* have his Majin form from DMC2 (and, technically, also from the DMC3 prequel manga). He just didn't use it in this fight. Which is just as likely. As it would have made his fight one-sided.

Dante and Vergils respective death battles would be insane when DMC 6 comes out, as they'll have all their DMC 5 feats, as well as spending the entire game gap going nothing but fighting demons and sparring.
I predict that in bayonetta 3 Dante will show up at some point, maybe as a post credit stinger or hell maybe even run into bayonetta while their in the underworld and he helps her escape

I looked up the origins of witch time and went through its lore, it doesn’t even control time. It’s just controlling Bayonetta’s speed. So she doesn’t even have any type of actual time manipulation. She’s just manililsting herself. That does nothing for her when she’s fighting Dante since his speed is immeasurable in almost every aspect .
For instance his blitz and his trickster teleports him with great speed and covers long distance without any trouble within a blink of an eye. This would do nothing for Bayonetta. She’s basically dust at this point.
I'd be surprised if they actually do a rematch with these characters with the new upgrades with dante from devil may cry 5 and Bayonetta from Bayonetta 3. This would definitely be the ultimate test between these characters going fully all-in in their fight.

Might need to redo this. Since we now have both DMC 5 and Bayonetta 3. Dante has sin devil trigger now and as of Bayonetta 3, turns out, she can in fact, regenerate from seemingly mortal wounds as she's capable of ripping her own heart out and regenerating it.
Killing her demons doesn't depower her nor does it actually inflict meaningful damage on said demon, we now have canon proof via cinematic that Bayonetta's summoned demons can physically die and reincarnate in mere seconds.
And lastly, Hell in the Bayonetta'verse is fully capable of sustaining a multiverse worth of Bayonettas.
But most importantly, Dante has a motorcycle weapon. And Bayonetta has a train. It's the ultimate rematch.

She instantly heals it as soon as he removes his claw and proceeds to beat him in a boss battle immediately after.

8 years later and this is still one of the top animations they've made for sure. The actual animation itself does show it's age a bit with really low detail settings and rigid facial expressions, but the choreography for this death battle is probably some of the best in the series, ESPECIALLY the early portion in the church. It's still really great

So with cutting through dimensions, the implication being made here is the Yamato can essentially cut through anything. I disagree, and there's a lot to contradict this.
The numerous times Dante/Rebellion/Red Queen and the Yamato clashed and the aforementioned swords weren't shattered. We now know the rebellion is now destructible and there's no reason to think the Dante sword is also indestructible (though the threshold to break it is likely on par as the Sparda or higher).
Lady blocked it with her rocket launcher.
Dante stopped it with his hand as Vergil stopped Dante's sword with his hand.
Rebellion again clashes with it as Nero wielded the sword.
It was encountered fractured in 4.
Nero's projectile slash from the Yamato (perhaps on par or stronger than when Dante used it since Nero was able to repair it and it resonated with him) doesn't go through entire buildings as it should if it's slicing power were essentially infinite.
Dante had to use bullets to force it through a weakpoint after he jams it in as opposed to just going through with a poke, showing there's resistance.
Sanctus outright blocks a projectile slash from Nero's Yamato both with his hand and with his own projectile which terminates in an explosion but leaves the environment intact.
Urizen uses the sword to make a shield which can be broken.
There's a lot contradicting it's ability to cut through anything.
Vergil also never uses the ability to make portals itself as an attack or he would have done so against Dante. He likely doesn't do it because he can't or it just wouldn't be effective compared to using the projectiles yamato has or just using the sword itself directly.

I think it’s hilarious how in most death battles, if just one of the fighters speaks up, they can avoid a fight. For example, if Dante just tells bayonetta that he HUNTS demons while being part demon himself, there would be a chance that they would decide not to fight. I don’t know why, I just find it really funny.

Bayonetta had powers before meeting Butterfly. It's a requirement in order to even attempt a contract. They have to be proficient in their abilities or they can't really make a contract.
This video also had Dante be immortal when no such thing is ever established in the series and implied Bayonetta could only take the same damage as a normal person could, which is blatantly false. See 10:12 to 10:30 for some examples.

I really enjoyed the Ryu/Jin fight, but even after all these years I think this may possibly be the best Death Battle ever made. The action transitions are so smooth even a few of the quick weapon switches by Dante were so flawless they’re easy to miss if you aren’t paying close attention.

But she can though. The video used an outlier to justify Dante’s speed, but Bayonetta managed to catch a satellite that fell from space. If the satellite fell from geosynchronous orbit to her on earth in seconds and she could react to it when it’s just in front of her, this feat would beat Dante’s.
Otherwise if we’re not considering outliers in terms of base speed they are roughly equal, but Bayonetta has stronger time manipulation.

Why do people have this misconception about Bayonetta have a strong enough regen skill to counter Dante’s abilities? Every game shows that she has a limit. Especially the third one that shows if she takes too much damage she’ll fall. Dante has yet to show his limit.
He clearly did in 5 when he was put into a month long coma from a single attack after being amped from Sparta.

If this was his limit as you say it was then he wouldn’t have survived for a whole month. He would’ve withered away without any sort of sustenance.

@@ammynaten8392 She can't summon Queen Sheba on her own. The only times she has shown the ability to summon Queen Sheba is when she combines her summoning powers with someone else. As such she cannot use that summon in a one on one battle.

@@ajuadelaajua They used a composite Seph, therefore we should use a composite Vergil, meaning we take his Nelo Angelo feats into account. Therefore hes at bare minimum universal. Universal feat > supernova = Vergil slams even back then. Now with his new abilites in 5, he completely slams.
minor context: Vergil and Dante are both multiversal. Idk if low-multi or complex multi, but def not just uni but multi. Nero would also scale to them.

Once more, to the Bayo fans that are respectfully debating their points, you're the real ones. Regardless of whether or not I agree with you, you guys are the real Bayo fans that reflect well on your community. I do not attribute the statements of what I suspect to be one Bayo fan/troll using alt accounts to your fandom, I genuinely think it is just one sad, hollow individual that for whatever reason has experienced some measure of PTSD from watching this video to the point where they are now flagrantly falsifying statements attributed to the Death Battle cast. They have not provided any verification for these claims that they would be able to provide in a CZcams comment, and on top of that viewing the membership tab of this channel Death Battle archives Battles they have officially revisited/revised the outcome of, there is no record whatsoever of them officially revising/revisiting this Death Battle there, despite their archive going back approx over a year and a half ago and this person claiming that DB has in fact officially revised the outcome of this battle. I am still waiting for my own Discord Access to be available so at the moment I am not able to definitively verify the Discord server claims, however due to the person not providing any verification for the claims that would be easy to verify by someone with Discord access I am inclined to believe that they are in fact lying. Which reflects even worse upon them, but in my eyes not upon your community as a whole. It genuinely appears as if this person is trying as many different approaches as possible to "Poison the Well" on a 7 year old video, their continued mistake is that every approach they make is so obviously a fabrication of theirs.
Edit: I have Discord access and have been able to confirm that NOT A SINGLE MEMBER OF THE DB CAST in the Discord has made ANY statement regarding this Death Battle. Whelp, can't say I didn't suspect that would be the case!

6 years later and still one of their most well-made Death Battles in my opinion. I hope they do another rematch with their new powers that they gained.
I first watched this when I was 2nd grade, it's been 7 years and I still love this death battle.

We’re (the players of Bayo 3) aren’t sure if Bayo 3 is Little Cereza or the Bayonetta we met in 1 or 2. We also don’t know if Bayo 1&2 take place in different universes.
@@Gemini053 yes we are lmao, Cereza in 3 is from an alternate universe from 1 and 2 (which are also separate, apparently) but Bayonetta 2's character description states that her history is extremely similar to Bayonetta 3's Cereza, meaning that all her feats should apply regardless

The dialogue is so on point with their personalities in this, the choreography is astounding, the music is fitting, the abilities are so smooth when they use them, the camera angles are superb, and even the models look decent. So why do they keep using pixel characters XD lol
While I can only make a guess, I’d say 2D models make animation easier.

Apparently, Bayonetta can't die by being impaled. She got impaled in the third game and sustained no injuries. So this whole death battle is invalid.

She still died permanently in her own game though.

I looked up the origins of witch time and went through its lore, it doesn’t even control time. It’s just controlling Bayonetta’s speed. So she doesn’t even have any type of actual time manipulation. She’s just manililsting herself. That does nothing for her when she’s fighting Dante since his speed is immeasurable in almost every aspect .
For instance his blitz and his trickster teleports him with great speed and covers long distance without any trouble within a blink of an eye. This would do nothing for Bayonetta. She’s basically dust at this point.

I'd be surprised if they actually do a rematch with these characters with the new upgrades with dante from devil may cry 5 and Bayonetta from Bayonetta 3. This would definitely be the ultimate test between these characters going fully all-in in their fight.
