    • @Sujad
      @Sujad Před rokem

      Correct. Lucifer is widely portrayed as a hedonist and it would make sense for him to be bisexual. Wokeness is just a load of garbage beliefs used to guilt people and racially divide people. Throughout the series, you saw strong, competent characters because they were well written and their competence didn't come at the expense of the other characters. That's one of the major problems with woke writing. Often men get hit with the incompetence/sexism/stupid stick just to make the women look more competent. That's not equality, not feminism, that's just spite and revenge. Look at one of the prior episodes where Rory is driving Lucifer's car. He's practically feminised because of how aggressive Rory is driving. They practically destroy his character in that scene. Or when she threatens him with her wings. Does this show honestly expect it's audience to believe that an angel (who so far as we're aware at this point is a teenager/young adult could get the drop on or threaten an angel tens if not hundreds of thousands of years old (or more considering time flows differently in hell)? Would you expect an incredibly talented chest novice against an experienced chess veteran?

    • @nehamotwani6477
      @nehamotwani6477 Před rokem +6

      @@Sujad when rory attacked lucifer it was a completely reasonable response of him. It doesn't defy his character at that point either, as Lucifer has grown to become more receptive to others emotionally. And besides, what did you expect his response to be? To attack at her back? Lucifer character has never been the kind to hastily attack someone without understanding the situation, since the very first season. Remember everytime anyone tried to kill him, he never attacked back.
      And the car driving situation was more because of the relation dynamics between them at that point.
      Instead, you are looking at Lucifer to be the dominant one in every situation since he is more powerful than pretty much everyone. That's the power dynamics of toxic masculinity precisely.

It may not be the fill force, but that venomous strain still exists, and, even if that scene is most likely overblown (haven't seen it, wouldn't know) the premise doesn't seem as far fetched. It's between that and the difficulty escaping from poverty in the U.S. that ends up causing more black dudes to get shot by the police than white ones. Either they were doing something out of desperation, they got stereotyped in because police see more black dudes trying to steal than white ones due to more black dudes being poor, or it's the active racism. All of the above need fixed, but it's a pain the people running things don't want to put in the effort to do, hence, why TV Shows end up with hamfisted scenes explaining that it's still a thing to people who believe it isn't, and why we still have protests over the subject so frequently rather than the subject being dropped. Genuine question, since there's been a turn around in policy for the democrats since the turn of the century where they now represent people they once did not. They presently try to aid people in getting out of poverty, whether it works or not they're trying, which is more than I can say for the opposition, and in recent years they've realized the issues with the police system and are starting (albeit at a snail's pace) to fix it. Neither side has been doing well on this subject, one is trying, though, why do you attack the one at least making an attempt? (Also, enriching the rich doesn't count as making an attempt, it counts as asking for handouts while praying the rich person they just paid a ton to will do something nice to the general public in return, and the Republican side has done very little else to try to fix these issues.) Realistically, both sides, if they wanted to fix poverty, would bipartisanly agree to some form of universal base income setup, since we have so many people not working anyways and we still have an excess of supplies, having everyone in the country be able to afford the bare minimums of life isn't exactly gonna kill anyone. Would let us replace the unemployment system completely too by just having everyone, working or not, get the bare minimum from the government, and then get luxuries from your work instead. If either side gets their head out of their rears long enough to actually try for that, that's when you'll know which one truly cares for the impoverished, because not much else will give them a point to climb back up in a less convoluted manner.

      I mean, Adam has been portrayed as an Idiot in this series the entire time. So think about that for a moment.
      Also, this is actually the only good depiction of the concept of toxic masculinity I have seen in fiction that is digestible by a casual audience.
      It also fits the theme of the entire show which hinges a lot on expectations.
      It would be less realistic to not mention the topic especially because toxic masculinity (or femininity, different topic, almost the same pattern) is really mostly about expectations and roles.
      Adam has every reason to feel shafted because he worked pretty hard for Eve. She has been completely unfaithful to him and so far he, the first man, has been the butt of every joke.
      What should they have done, made him gay? That would have been insulting.
      Nope, Adam is pretty much THE regular guy who just got left behind.
      I mean think about it, we met two of his sons. Those are also Eves sons.
      Of all the celestials who have walked into Lindas office who are not straight up God or one of the good Angels he has been the smallest problem to her.
      Oh and before you think that I am defending the "woke" crowd here:
      Toxic masculinity is VERY much linked to absent father figures. It is almost impossible to raise boys without a father or surrogate.
      Which means that quite ironically, the feminists you would probably be thinking of when you hear "woke" very regularly make things worse because the term gets thrown around and it´s assumed that it´s just "macho" or "men being men"

      @@sircastic959 I definitely agree with your opinion on the problem of the father-less households. A lot of what I know about being a man is what I learned from my father. Protect your family, pay your debts, keep your word, be respectful until it is time to NOT be respectful, don't expect a handout/no one owes you anything, compassion to those that deserves it. Although, to be honest, the compassion I learned mostly from my mom. The problem I have with the "woke" crowd/message is that it seems that everyone needs to be a victim and there is this belief that there aren't roles. There is always a hierarchy structure and roles. I am strong where my wife is weak and she is strong where I am weak. Anyone that says there are no roles, is either single or mentally handicapped. In my house, the roles are different from "traditional" roles, with me being disabled. I stay home, I deal with the kids school stuff and my wife works. But we still have our roles. This woke crap is just some daydream that a kid held on to until adulthood and somehow made it popular as an adult. It has very little basis in reality. Which is why a lot of the "woke" crowd still lives at home with their parents and can't hold a relationship, and pretty much hasn't matured emotionally and intellectually past middle school.

By the timeframe of the movie, he just wants to be left alone to love his wife and his dog. Before they killed his dog, he could have fucked that Russian boy up. But he didn't. He seems to be slightly troubled at his past, shows he has capacity for mercy and gentleness, yet he can fuck up everyone around him. He knows what he is capable of and therefore has little to no ego regarding claiming power or a mantle. But a good video. Thanks for the reference.
