    Were a pipefitter for 44 years and you do not go around a pipe nipple ten times if the Teflon tape is to thick it naturally wants to peel away 3 to 4 times around is more than sufficient you could always add pipe dope if you're really concerned about a leak.

    My issue is when wayer is sprayed against that handle and trim with the 2 screws, water just stsrted leaking into my kitchen ceiling below...
    I had to remove a piece of ceiling today to see where the leak cones from.
    How can i address this? The chrome trim only has a white foam seal in behind it, and its soaked! Also, should there be an o-ring or seal that goes between inner hole on trim and the collar of the faucet?
    Any help is appreciated!

      I know this was asked a long time ago, but in case anyone scrolls through and is confused.... it gets screwed into a piece of the valve that is behind the wall. There are screw holes already in place for these to go into :) Make sure you find the holes before you screw them in.

    • @HomeRenoVisionDIY
      @HomeRenoVisionDIY  Před 8 lety +9

      In most cases you would silicone the tub spout. I prefer to use a small bead of clear. The face plate usually comes with a gasket that seals from the backside leaving a clean look and no messy silicone.

    you're skipping a lot of little intricate steps. I noticed you fast-forward when you (hand turned,) (not tightened) the shower head. you didn't show how you got it tight. Did you use a plier? Did you use your hand? We know that you can't use hand pressure because it wouldn't be tight enough. What about the padding on the back of the plate? I could go on. This video tutorial is so incomplete. It's a waste of time. 😔😕😟
