It's almost been a month since I brought Lou back from that beach, and I want him to find his forever home as soon as possible. Not because he is more special than all the others, but because he is ready, he was always ready. There is nothing more for me to offer him, nothing more to say about him, nothing more to do. It might seem like I am the one who helped him, but the truth is that he helped me more. He helped me appreciate the beauty and the sadness of our beautiful beaches and our romantic Greek summers, and he made those ten days unforgettable. Those walks down the beach were pure poetry, all thanks to the beauty of his lonely and proud soul. In a country with millions of strays, dogs like Lou are always left behind. Their rescue does not seem urgent enough, but trust me, it is. The average lifespan of a stray is 2 years, and usually, in touristic places, the dogs you see one year are never there the next, because they are either deliberately poisoned or suffer accidents, diseases and starvation. Leaving Lou behind to face the cruel and unfair winter of the Greek countryside was simply not an option.

it is so unbelievable that dog breeds like this not only live their life as a stray , but they cant find a lovely home at the country of their origin, i feel sometimes ppl in this country are just so ignorant abt their local wealth, they just not worth living in it......

I love the way you so passionately tell your stories about the dogs that have no forever home. I live in a place where animals are not allowed. But you stir my soul in such a way I just want to go and save all the animals and let them live with me. Valia, I Live in the United States; I myself am a pet owner of 3 wonderful Felines. Two of them (Boys) I saved from being abandoned; it takes a lot of energy to share attention and care for them. I wouldn't change a thing though. It's amazing the unlimited energy you have in doing so much more. I have no doubt these companions we call pets can sense the deep respect you have for them. :)-Archie

Lou is handsome. Strikingly handsome. He has such soulfulness and character in his face. So well behaved and social. Anyone who adopts him will be very, very lucky. What I don't understand is how anyone could have abandoned him in the first place. Good luck, Lou! ❤️ ❤️

For 25 years I had been rescuing dogs in my neighborhood too. Over fifty dogs in the span of 25 years. The rest are gone now. But I never get them adopted. In my country it is still not a way of life. And I can't let my babies suffer. The love I have for these dogs enrichess my heart to love more. I've watched them die of old age. Others in sickness. I can't afford the vets for their wellness so I self medicated them and showered them with so much love. I admire you so much. I know the pain and the risk of taking in these forsaken ones. But the joy and fulfilment is incomparable. God bless you and your heart.

I pray that somebody will give him a forever home. I am 82, live in Tennessee, so I can't adopt this beautiful sweetheart, but I'm sure someone would want a gorgeous looking animal like him! Oh no, your voice is so so soothing... I have been watching your videios constantly and have been connected even on your Facebook "The Orphan Pet". Yesterday, I saw the video with the little kitty, Iron, and I bawled like a baby.. Such a tiny little being, and he knew it was his time to go... The little One, just staring out the window, into the Sunshine. "The Angel that the Sun Adopted" (Oh, my.., I just burst into tears)..

What a sweet soul Lou is. Of course you'd not keep him. If you kept all the dogs you've helped, you'd need an estate. Prayed Lou will find his perfect home. There's someone out there just for him. As I saw Lou looking out into the distance, sitting on your porch, I could imagine...sense...that he may have been waiting. Still waiting for his previous owner, his previous family member who may have left him. That's what I saw. But, I love your story better. Your narration is vivid, filled with a longing that I cannot explain.

What a handsome and well behaved boy he is. I can't understand how someone would or could just.. abandon him. Why do that kind of people even get dogs? If someone is able to just dump such a loyal and kind animal without a second though, they're a especially cold hearted person whom shouldn't have animals in the first place.
