Full Disclaimer, I was given these tools by Kreg months ago, and I finally got around to trying out the jig. Spoiler Alert: it works exactly as promised, though you do need to exercise some care in use. The clamp is an easy recommendation; it is well designed and so easy to use.

🙏🙏Thank-you! 🙏🙏 - Jak na to + styl
This was a very good, clear, concise review. A torpedo level would be helpful in ensuring that the slide jig has not slipped. Kreg should've put a level in the jig. Take note that there are similar products available. I probably will buy these Kreg jigs for a drawer project.
Thanks...Clear presentation and addressed the issue I was having with the jig drifting even when clamped!
Things I've learned about woodworking: everything you do will take twice as long as planned, and most industry promises of "easy" and "simple" blah blah blah, are never quite that easy or simple.
I’ve always thought about getting a set of the drawer slide jigs. After seeing your video I think I will just make some out of plywood.
quicker and cheaper, at least you can make the material long enough for it not drop at the front.
I’d encourage it because this jig really is for shit
I feel affirmed watching you struggle with this jig, lol. I tried it for the first time this week. Call me underwhelmed.
I am currently trying these on an existing kitchen cabinet. I’m having to rebuild the internal framing as it didn’t exist. Finally got the first one installed. Had to get the side frames to 1/16 on each side for it to work. Be aware.
Doing it manually is easy enough, but this is very nice to have. Just ordered a set.
Thanks You for your tools.
loved hearing your thoughts
Soft close and drawer glides in general require a higher 'level' of precision. Kreg jigs help a lot. I've used them numerous times after other 'handymen' installed soft close drawer glides in a conversion and they would not soft close.
Have those jigs and clamps , And this made it easier to Understand them1 Thanks Art! I use those Clamps A lot for other tasks
I bought clamps at Harbor freight for $6.95 each and they are far better than these expensive Kreg clamps. The drawer slide jig doesn't work at all unless your drawers are made of balsa wood. They sag when you put weight on them no matter how tightly they are clamped.
Looks pretty handy, I will have to look into getting a set!
It's literally a plastic 2x4.
Thank you I like I will now get some.
yea I have just used a straight edge and a level so depending on the price I may or may not ... but for sho the self adjusting clamps, I replaced my vice grips with self adjusting ones and winner, so for clamps they are worth the money, bought a few of them, and just like the vice grips, its worth it not fussing with that knob for large adjustments, only tiny pressure ones
Awesome. THx for the vid
Nice video Art! Thank you for sharing it with us!💖👍👌😎JP
I was looking into these and now that I've seen his video I will get them very simple, and I like simple. I like this guy and his explanation, he's funny and not grumpy like some.
You're not smart and you're bad at everything.
Nice video thank you.
That bit @4:49 is very important - worth watching this video for...
My 30x24” drawer fell on me while I was trying to reattach the clamps after they slipped. I hate the clamps I got. They need to be set before using.
ON a side note, it seems it would be safer for your hands, for your material and for the teeth of your table saw if you lowered the blade below the table surface while working on or around the saw table.
What about cabinets with a face frame
Then you hold the jig on the inside behind the face frame. The Kreg Instructions cover that: czcams.com/video/GGWwZUpJLbU/video.html
Maybe I missed something here. It looks like it installs the slide in the cabinet about a half inch above your line for where the bottom of the drawer was suppose to be. Then when you flipped them over it looked like the bottom of the drawer was flush with the bottom of the slides.
The front end of the jig is lower by about that much. Only the first inch or so of the jig. I should probably read the manual to see if that is explained... Maybe tomorrow... 😁
Those jigs are more difficult to use if you don't have cabinet sidewalls and have to use a drawer slide back bracket mount.
I would say they are useless without cabinet sidewalls.
Agreed 100%. Based on first hand experience.
Спасибо, что так подробно все показали)
С удовольствием. С Рождеством!
(this is from Google Translate, I wonder how good a job it does...)
@@Wordsnwood It works great) Thank you so much) Merry Christmas!
If you have a face frame they work better.
Love the lack of ads and sponsorships on your channel.
The new style of clamp is called Automaxx - and the reviews on Amazon are very bad. I'll stick with my Harbor Freight knockoffs, they work great for putting in lots of pocket holes in material that is the same width.
Hmmm, 434 ratings on Amazon.com and 4.5 stars out of five. 337 ratings on Amazon.ca and also 4.5 stars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I guess I'll just have to give it a year and see if my opinion changes.
I will second the dislike for the Automaxx, I have one and it is very difficult to adjust the small wheel that adjust the clamping pressure. The Wheel needs to be bigger and at the end like the conventional vise grips. I also have found the clamping pressure is not the same on various thickness of stock. Armor company makes a similar product that works much better
You can build them yourself.
A jig should make a process repeatable and easier to do, these do not do that very well. I have a set that I bought and I find using spacers and plywood gives me much more reliable results. I love Kreg's products, just not these. The clamps are great - they are not included, so buy them and skip the supports.
They definitely are almost useless for installing euro slides on a face frame cabinet.
I'm getting one..
because I have the Rockler's and I dont like it...
What is it about the Rockler's don't you like, I watched some videos on both and I seem to like the Rockler's better but they don't seem to provide a solution for supporting the drawer when attaching the slide to the drawer like the Kreg's. Not sure which ones to get now.
@@jac_builtWoodworks yes, that's it.. You cant install the slider to the drawer, and you have to be creative. Plus, the spacer rod is not that accurate and does not fit in some places.
"for a few bucks" ... Kreg is like the apple of the tool world. You can't use those jigs with standard clamps, you have to buy the kreg "face clamps" too. Sucks
Always enjoy your videos, but you seemed rushed and almost out of breath for this one. Slow down and relax. Stay safe.
Wise words, thanks.
Kreg products are crap. Cheaply made and overly complicated. This thing can be replaced with a2x4 with a straight edge or even a small piece of plywood. Amazing the crap people will buy!
Lmao After watching you use those Kreg draw slide installers I doubt Kreg with let you do a sponsored video. Relax take a deep breath.
I did say right at the beginning that I wanted to do a "quick" video... ;-)
