    I see some "RIP Tom Searle comments, so I think I should elaborate that. Tom was the drummer's, Dan Searle, brother. He passed away 2 years ago after 3 years of fighting against cancer. This song is written by Dan, most of the music too. They said on their Facebook that this was a single on its own and it wouldn't be on the next album. When I bought the new album (Holy Hell), there wasn't a tracklist on the back. So when I first heard it fully I was very surprised to hear it on there

    • @judgepage6605
      @judgepage6605 Před 2 dny

      I'm sure everyone knows this by now, but for some that are seeing this for the first time- should also elaborate that Tom was much more than Dan(the drummer) brother. Tom was the guitarist, lyricist, and main song writer for actually some of this song, and AOGHAU back

    Like you, I hadn't really paid attention to this band, but wow, they're cool! Looked up their story, and this song has really sad circumstances--it was written by one of the cofounders (and lead guitarist), but he died before they recorded it, so this is their new guitarist. You didn't comment on how melodic his screaming is--I was quite amazed by it.

    • @gothcow1
      @gothcow1 Před 4 lety +1

      It's such a sad and emotional song. The past two albums I believe revolves around that. I think All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us is kind of them dealing with the fact that they know he is going to die from his terminal cancer and then Holy Hell is about them dealing with his passing. I could be wrong but that's what I remember reading somewhere.

    • @c4gob00m
      @c4gob00m Před 4 lety +1

      Hayden Saul AOGHAU wasn’t initially about that, but there’s songs on there (Gone With The Wind, Momento Mori) that were written by Tom about his coming to terms with the fact he’s most likely going to succumb to the disease. I’m pretty sure they didn’t actually know how serious it was at that point and whether he’d pass, but Tom knew.
      Holy Hell is basically about them dealing with Tom’s passing and how they’re going to move on as a band.

    Great to see you talking about their style early in the beginning already, as a drummer its one of the reasons i like their stuff so much - guitar, bass and drums make up such an amazing union in their songs and build up so much momentum. Also their use of synths is really subtle but also veeeery important to the feel of their songs, you dont notice it much, but you would notice it a lot more if it were missing (kin of like bass players :D). Another great song from them where this really hammers down is "A Match Made in Heaven"

    You have to hear Architects - Royal Beggars

    For a reaction "gone with the wind". For your own statisfaction as you called it, watch the short film "holy ghost". It explains a lot about the passion their fans habe for this band.

    When you realize what this song’s about and the history of the band you’ll be moved largely.

    Hello from Russia!
    Pls, react to Architects - Gone with the wind
    Their guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle died of cancer in 2016. Doomsday is the last song in which he took part in writing and the first one released after his death. In the video, his twin brother Dan plays Tom (he is also the drummer of the band).
    GWTW is one of the last songs released, in it Tom talks about how he feels and how he is trying to fight the disease.

    This is a great band. A lot of feeling, atmosphere, and musicianship. Huge fan of this album and their previous two, especially.

    Hey I'm new to you channel but binged a lot of your videos lately, your insights are interesting, different aproach than other "popular" reaction channels. I love Architects, you should try their song - Memento mori. It's the last song written by Tom Searle(guitarist) before he died of cancer. For me their best song. I hope you will react somewhere in the future to this 2 songs- Periphery - Reptile, Silent Planet - Trilogy

    Suggestion: Blind Guardian (German Power Metal Band, founded 84), for instance: BLIND GUARDIAN - Mirror Mirror (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO). I may quote the wiki: "They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres." 🤘

    Stepping back from the music, the vocals, and the meaning of the song itself, visually it look taken from a scene in a movie called The Fountain, great song though

    First off, I somehow found both Tank and your reaction channels on the same day a few weeks back and have been a fan of both ever since. I have joined the discord as well.
    Secondly: you owe it to yourself to watch the mini documentary that accompanied the release of the last album Tom worked on before he died. I know it might not get many views but it would be great if a conscious mind such as yours "reacted" to that 22 minute documentary.
    I highly recommend it.
    Great reaction as always!
