  • 2018 Creta vs S-Cross Facelift vs Renault Captur
    The Duster is on the verge of bowing out. We now have the Captur that wants to take over the mantle, and promises some extra pizzazz along with the same indestructible vibe. The S-Cross has had a makeover and doesn’t have the punchy 1.6 anymore, and the Creta, well, it’s got a ‘beat me if you can’ attitude now, brimming with goodies.
    We spent the better part of a week driving these three together, in their top-spec diesel manual avatars, to figure out which makes for the jack of all trades, and if there’s a master of none. Buckle up!

    great comparison by the two... Hyundai definitely deserve a whole lot of appreciation for their revised tuning ...But my problem is with Maruti, they always discontinues great cars and engines like Zen 1.6, SX 4 and recently 1.6 ddis is out of the equation

    • @SuperDatabank
      @SuperDatabank Před 6 lety +7

      Cyril Matthew i hate the fact that they do not have 1.6 DDIS anymore but then 1.6 was an unreliable and expensive to maintain engine(Imported parts) plus it had only 2% of the total sales of s-cross
      So, not the ideal thing for them to continue
      Hoping they get the new DDIS engine soon and ditch this Fiat sourced one

    • @MotuSid
      @MotuSid Před 6 lety +1

      om ranga the 1.6 is unreliable? Where did you get that info from?

    • @nazaarmohamed8131
      @nazaarmohamed8131 Před 6 lety +2

      motusid It was a fuel sensitive motor.Owners of the 1.6l DDiS Scross have reported that putting bad quality fuel (common in India) in the car damaged the Engine completely.

    • @cool-ej6em
      @cool-ej6em Před 6 lety +4

      The main reason I guess it did not sale was lack of features in that 1.6 variant. Heck!! Even 4 airbags was not provided in a 17 lakh rupees car. Add to the pain our govt introduced higher taxes on 4m+ cars and also on 1.5l + engines which didn't help it either and played against Maruti's case of trying to offering vfm offerings.
      The reason for discontinuing was not that great. They could have tweaked the engine to suit Indian fuel condition.

      @ayushsaraf8248 Před 6 lety +8

      As an owner of Scross 1.6, I can certainly vouch for the tuffness and the energy of the Car. Certainly feel like the lucky few who purchase this car.

    I bought an S-Cross 1.6 and that thing totally toasts every other car in this video, in this category and in the categories even above it. You would be surprised, but it's so easy to take down an Audi A6 35 TDI on the highway with my S-Cross. Shift to 4th, accelerate. Drop a gear and disappear. The look on that Audi owner being overtaken by a car 3 times cheaper was priceless indeed.

    Buy scross zeta granite grey on April 23,2018. It is excellent car full comfortable.... I have also Creta and Ecosport... but my favourite is scross. It’s has premium look feel extraordinarily.
    More comfortable
    More reliable highway 21 to 25 km/pl
    Moe mileage against Creta and Ecosport and Breeza
    Driver & Real seat more comfortable
    Less price more feature then Creta
    Nexa is a premium segment
    More reliable
    It’s international style
    As like new style
    Four disk break ..nothing any car
    No body role
    Best in city aslike long drive

    One of the very few reviews that does justice for the S-Cross. And still channels like Powerdrift shamelessly says that the S-Cross is cramped at the rear misleading the customers..
    Best ride and dynamics, best in class space, best mileage, best feature list for the price and the cheapest one here and still s-cross doesn't win.

      Yes that was pretty shameless act by powerdrift. They too review cars well...but they way too much take the engine capacity and the enthusiasm of a car into consideration and my personal opinion is that they don't judge a car based on practicality.
      Lol...they said S cross cramped...I can not even imagine how Creta became spacious for them😨. For my family it felt claustrophobic the moment they sat in the back seat and it was a straight No No.
      Moreover they even said S cross as a stop gap car which really pissed me off. LOL internationally it competes with some great cars.

    • @cool-ej6em
      @cool-ej6em Před 6 lety +1

      Karthik Naik we never said Creta's backseat is cramped in any ways. It's just that it feels claustrophobic. Window lines are high. Still it can never have that much sense of roominess inside a cabin when compared to S cross. The leg space is absolutely huge in S cross. Window lines are at the required levels.
      And my mother and little sister will seat at the backseat so didn't make sense to get creta and make them feel like sitting inside a cage.

    I bought the Renault capture 6 months back...I would say it is the best suv among the three..the build quality is great ...the full led lambs and flashing indicators looks dope and then the suspension which is great than the other two...it is worth the money...since most of them are concerned about mileage they go for s cross and creta and that is why the sales rate for capture is low..if you give it a try for captur ,you’ll never regret it..

      Maheswaran Thiruchelvaraj It's not about hitting 170 but the way 1.6 takes you there and much higher. 320 nm and 6 gears does make a difference. Remap it, you have a 150 bhp ,380nm monster.

    • @ayushsaraf8248
      @ayushsaraf8248 Před 6 lety +1

      Maheswaran Thiruchelvaraj Just to add what mmk685 said, I suggest you should drive the 1.6 litre once, power is something which cannot be merely expressed in words but experienced. Its the pull and the push you get from the car, you feel as if you can beat anybody on the road when it comes to overtaking or reach those triple digits fast. Thats what makes people buy expensive sports car (apart from the looks). When the torque hits in the 1.6 around 2100 RPM, the boost of power you is get is just unbelievable. To put it into perspective, its not that you can reach 170, but how you reach that 170 that matters ;)

      I really hope Maruti atleast give S cross the 1.0L boosterjet. It seriously needs some performance. I own one 2018 Zeta model and never say it's underpowered, but 1.3L engine comming with a vehicle that used to have a bigger heart does no justice to this car.
      Seriously I think it's the capacity constraints that is not allowing them to launch the 1.0L boosterjet engine in S cross and Brezza nothing else.

    Lol..man I don't know about creta and captur but that S cross seriously has some issue😨
    I own one zeta variant(facelifted). Inside city the mileage is 17-21. Out on the highway it is always 21+. Even the 1st long drive I did( just the next day of purchase) including some broken village roads I managed to got 21. And on open highway cruising at around 90-100 I easily extract 23/24(No hard acceleration just put it on cruise and relax. Let it do its job😂😂)
    Very comprehensive review though 👏👏. As you guys have said. My priority was comfort and back seat space and I managed a healthy balance with S cross. I guess it is the most bang for buck offering (especially the zeta variant) yet, people are not buying it in those large numbers😅😅

    a)With a worlds best petrol engine do need not fear about diesel bs4 getting faded out(i stilll do not understand why so many of us prefer Diesel when u know it will fade out in 2 years )
    b) With nearly 120bhp it got lot of power
    C)Automatic comfort
    D)Ride quality+acres of room ..slide your second row sear recline it enjoy the surrounding from that big glass ...
    Its not without its demerits ...quality of plastics ...mileage ..
    But it really scores high on practicality ..in a car you must see engine..space ..realiability..atleast 5 years tension free.
    Fyi-if scross was available with 1.6 petrol engine i would have chose it ..there are people who are complaining if AC is powered on ENGINE RUNS TOO SLOW now why shud i spend same as how much is spent on brv?

      Sorry it has 2 additional seats in the third row which reclines ..and sitting in the third row you can strech your legs all forward when you have long highway trips :) magic seats

    Nissan, toyota, renault, ford, vw, chev, mahindra always have hard & deep clutches. They fully drain your left leg and back. This is the reason for success of maruthi, hyundai, tata models.

    Haven't seen a single CAPTUR here in Bangalore, and I don't think anyone is buying it, so it is not worth comparing :)
    By the way, nice comparison guys.

      @akhilskariahreji5667 Před 6 lety +4

      Amiya C well.. That is exactly why we need to compare them.
      The captur is a well built car with its own positives.
      In a country where people blindly follow marutis and Hyundais, don't you think comparing these would make sense?

    • @amiyachourasiya
      @amiyachourasiya Před 6 lety

      Akhil Skariah Reji True, but the comparison would make sense when the product is good, and CAPTUR is no good, it is evident in the comparison. I have seen it in the showroom, apart from good build it has nothing in it's bag. I think people do a lot of research unlike older days, and are experimenting too.

      @akhilskariahreji5667 Před 6 lety +2

    Don't think creta deserves that, from a car 17lacs on road price we expect more. Ride and Handling on highway is still a concern. So essentially we cannot do 100+ speed without worrying, less space, less features, only looks. then why spend almost 3-4lacs more.

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 Před 6 lety

      i dont think so, in fact the new S cross with 1.6l engine would have been a lakh more than the 1.3 turbo lag monster engine, that would have made even a bigger dud out of S Cross sales, so no chance, Indian population are weird, choose anything cheap and ones that have a Japanese badge on it means, by default better in their minds

    I own a 1.6 creta, the older model... its a really great car but in high speeds i dont trust it that much..
    i was looking for a new car. Surveyed the captur, scross and ecosport.
    Captur is very comfortable, can take bad roads easilly. Exterior looks awesome but the interior is too cheap. It feels like a beefed up kwid.
    Scross is spacious, looks great but the 180mm ground clearance👎 and the turbo lag.
    Ecosport diesel looks masculine, drive is awesome, handling on high speeds is great but the suspensions are too hard and takes bumps the hard way.
    At the end i bought the ecosport as i like to drive and its a driver’s car
