@@TheLawlessTide I hear ya bro. We used to get on the party boats from Clearwater and especially Tarpon Springs (Miss Milwaukee). Grew up on Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor and graduated Tarpon High ('73) with kids whose dads were actual sponge divers back in the 60s and 70s. Man, I could tell you some stories!! We'd go out, catch a stringer of those big black grunts (as we called them)off the reefs, take them back in, throw the guy at the dock 10 bucks and he fillet the whole bunch for us. We'd take them back home, throw'm in flour and a hot grease bath...hush puppies, cold slaw, my rock'n roll baked beans...OMG!! We all did the feast!! So much fun. So many good memories from Sarasota to Brooksville. Fishin the flats for trout, cobia... I'm on a rant!! LOL Don't get me started on fresh water!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Love your vids, man!!

I use that same rig for bliners until I found mustad 1/0 circle hook sabiki rig.
When you get 1 bliner on rig let it sit 20 30 seconds and reel slow that rig will fill up

How do those Mingos eat Mr Lawless? Is that fish a better candidate for a fire, a sauté pan or a fryer? Thanks again for the epic videos. They sustain me until I can actually get there.

Anytime I've ever gone offshore fishing we were going to specific Oil Rigs or known wrecks..... I see you guys out here but are
they deciding based upon a reef or other anomaly on bottom? Heck, they might just have a general area & use the electronics
to hone in on where to fish once they get close to an area? Who's rod is the spinning rod you are using..yours? When the drag
was pulling @ 12mins it seemed like it wasn't smooth? Might be me hearing wrong but I thought something might give when
he said there was 65lb test on it..... your reels are smoother that that one. Yup, love to see them coming into the boat.

    • @TheLawlessTide

We were mainly fishing hard bottom spots before we went out to the ledge.

IT's only @ the 25min mark when ya put your foot down in the driveway that I get just how many & how Big they were!
The camera lens might be part of why I can't tell but also the rod w/ the bait cast reel looks super thin as you hoisted
it up. I thought it would break a few times but I bet the lens caused that misconception of size as w/ the fish. Nice !!

    • @TheLawlessTide
      @TheLawlessTide  Před měsícem

That rod is super thin and super flexible, its made for slow pitch jigging which requires that kind of rod.

Thanks, yes, I heard you mention the "ledge" and I figured it was a deep drop-off. Florida waters are so different
than any other in the continental US that I always wonder. My salt fishing is the Chesapeake Bay & most is in the
Gulf of Mexico between Calcasieu Ship Channel(Louisiana) Cameron Parish over to Sabine Pass, Texas. Fishing
in this area is nothing like Florida waterways. I spent 11 months in Key West & when I got hooked up w/ a boat &
brought a fishing rod, they laughed at me. All these guys had scars in their hands from hand fishing whereas the
line sliced into the palm of their hands. I still used my gear but they were another breed of fishermen. Thanks
for bringing this forward, I love seeing it. peace man
