I finally got around to installing my lift and Bilsteins after buying them on Black Friday 2022. Took around 5 hours and I wish I would have installed them sooner!
    Love your videos!

Great offerings, nicely presented. I looked for pricing on your website and came across the Springtime 'The Weekender' and 'The Hudson' - looking forward to seeing what they bring to small form van layout ideas. Especially the 136 wheelbase Promaster... The Mercedes Sprinter 170 has me worried we'll lose you to the dark side. 😛

Some promaster's have a generator under the van. I am guessing this would help lift that out of the way?

I really really love your Vans. They are so awesome. I would really like to see a MWB Sprinter (4x4) or an 139 Promaster with a full Shower, Fixed Bed, Kitchen and an option to sit across each other. If you can Master that, that would be so awesome :)
Why? Because MWB are a lot better for parking when travelling the world especially in Europe. In MWB you can use the normal parkinh lots. When you go with 6m it is not possible anymore. And you pay less on ships.
    Stil love your Promaster !

I just upgraded to the rear SumoSprings, they didn’t come with instructions.
A couple people mentioned there should be about 1/4 inch clearance so the spring isn’t continuously compressed.
I’m not sure if this is best but my rig build runs heavy and I wanted to help alleviate the burden off my leaf springs, I have seen ProMaster’s with broken leaf springs.

Are you still happy with the front lift/suspension upgrade? I own a 2022 Travato and thinking about this upgrade after my warranty expires. Have you noticed a difference in gas mileage with the front of the vehicle being level with the rear? Some people prefer the front rake and claim the vehicle handles better. Thoughts???

  • @vinnied5133

2 pucks for the rear springs? Also, have you seen any kind of premature wear to ball joints or cv shafts up front with the lift plus sumo coil helpers?? Thanks for the longer term advice!

Any concerns with the longevity of the drivetrain with the front lift? There seems to be some debate whether or not this affects the angle of the constant velocity joints, and therefore some degree of wear in the transmission. Do you have any opinions or thoughts on that?

  • @craigcalkins7616
    @craigcalkins7616 Před rokem +1

Nice video, I too installed the Sumo springs and put larger wheels and tires, 245/75R16 Michelins. It made a big difference on my 136 high roof 2500. Stock it would drift and feel like driving on ice on washboards. You brought up a point I’ve been debating on and that is weight distribution. The Sumos did raise the front a bit making it sit more level but front traction is not good, too light. Did the 1 and a half lift affect your front end traction that you’ve noticed? I’m going to add a big heavy bumper and winch combo to see if that helps since I drive in a lot of snow and sand.
    Thanks

I’ve got the 3500 ProMaster extended length and I run stock diameter tires. I also don’t like the look of the lower front end.
I’d like to improve the suspension and lift the front enough for it to be somewhat level, but I think I would like to avoid any unnecessary lift. Any recommendations? I’m having a hard time finding a video that just focuses on leveling but you kind of alluded to that. Thx

Thanks for a detailed video! I wonder what are the largest wheels and tires that can be fit on 2.2L Promasters if you were to do some cutting mods to wheel arches?
Also, is it possible to do any mod to achieve a smaller turning radius on Promasters?

I’m currently stranded with my 2022 PM 3500! The lift kit, by Off Highway Vans of Utah has caused complete and hazardous failure of my steering. At 25,000 miles it began to wobble to the point that it is too dangerous to drive!
NO SHOP in the entire Waco and San Antonio areas will even look at this un drivable thing. But I LIVE full time in it!!!
Off Highway Van doesn’t return calls to at least offer some guidance as to where I can go for repairs!!!
I want this lift kit OFF MY VAN!!!

I have a 3" OHV lift on my Winnebago Pocket on the Promaster Chassis, also with sumo springs and all terrain tires. Now have 9" of clearance at the lowest point and I like the ride. I go on a lot of roads like the one he was driving in this video, except with some grades. I recommend the lift if you want to get off pavement and explore.
