  • This video pertains to a Kenmore Model 41744142400 front load washing machine (mid-00s era), but concepts and methods should apply to other models as well. The video covers the changing of washer tub bearings and seal, spin basket, and drive belt. It also touches on replacing the suspension springs, shocks, and drive motor. In addition, it addresses unclogging or replacing the drain pump, and more.
The video was produced out of gratitude for those who have published to CZcams DIY videos that enabled me to save a lot of money in repairs and maintenance. Prices are from 2019 when the video was made.
The comment at 7:36 concerning how easy it is to put the drive belt back onto the drive pulley is true as far as the used drive belt is concerned, but not where a new one is concerned, which I subsequently make clear at 34:05. I also apologize for the typo at 34:30 where "you may some help" should be "you may need some help". I had intended to edit the video a bit more, but a subsequent Windows update replaced the Microsoft computer based video editing app with a web based one and wiped out my project.
