- Solo mountain wild camp in my Alpkit Soloist tent on the Coniston Fells. Including the Wainwright summits of Coniston Old Man, Brim Fell, Swirl How and Great Carrs.
A 10 mile hike with 3300ft of ascent.

Red dell beck and valley is beautiful and nobody or next to no one ever seems to walk from top to bottom, that is one of my favourite valley walks down and wonderful waterfalls if cutting across. Cool videolog

Cracking little spot my friend. Beautiful area, really like it up there. Didn’t realise you had a sea to Summit collapsible mug - I’ve had to stop using mine because of the plastic taste and that the brew goes cold fast! Really enjoyed this video mate. Makes me desperate to get out ⛰️

Those are some truly wild scenes up there 😍 Crazy how the miles can just keep rolling by sometimes when you end up going from point to point, adding another mile here, another two miles there. Brilliant job as always, Dave, and you're looking in great shape. Must have been that run the day before 😅 ATB, James.

Great video (as always). A great thing to use for blisters when you're out on the hill with no plasters is sheep wool. A fell runner told me once to put it inside your sock on the blister point, boot back on, sorted. Never tried it though! Look after yourself buddy.

Brilliant video this Dave, really shows what Wild camping is all about. Changes in the weather, the graft getting to the summit, and your planned spot already pre-occupied. 🤣
It all worked out in the end tho by the looks of it.
If you’re struggling to get some Kip I’d recommend a 7oz hip flask loaded with Gentleman Jack. Works a charm for me.

Fantastic conditions! 🙂 Brim Fell was my 100th wainwright last year on a circular hike up via Dow Crag from the Seathwaite side. Wethelam being the only Coniston Fell I left out that Day.

It was worth searching for that camping spot Dave. Lovely sunset. I was looking at the Alpkit soloist, would you recommend that tent.
Had mine about 4yrs now. Great little tent but not much room for kit inside. I tent to use it in good weather and just leave most of my stuff outside.
I prefer to go up the Old Man from Torver - quieter and much nicer path.

I have the same rucksack. What was that bottle.holder you have. The one thing that bugs me about the trailblazzer is the side pockets dont stretch. The hip.pockets are class but hard to put water bottles in.

Cheers David. The Soloist is the only Alpkit tent I’ve used so can’t really comment on the others. It’s been fine for me but I’ve only used it in light rain.
