- So much discussion as to the first $1K UCS Star Wars set... and Imma add my two cents. I think I have a pretty good argument for what the first one thousand dollar set will be.
I know I posted about the thumbnail a few days back... I'm gonna see how this one does and if it flops I'll switch to the other one.

Well, after an INSANE amount of comments about it, I have made a video talking about Mon Cala cruisers specifically: m.czcams.com/video/bdbiFdjykAk/video.html
ucs jedi temple for $1000 would sell like crazy especially if you give it 50-60 figs imagine all the references and easter eggs you could put in that
Haha! That would be awesome but impossible! From my knowledge there aren’t that many big fans of the jedi temple, and i don’t think it would sell like crazy. Something like the executor (way iconic and cool looking) would sell better. Also 50-60 figures is impossible! If we got ~10 figures with an 800$ set, i doubt lego will give us 60! Way too much! It would also make the set significantly pricier, lowering the piece count from (example) 10k pieces to ~9k. Of course im no expert but molds for figures and prints are pricey!
@@HCKRBROThere are tons of Jedi temple fans
@@oXRaptorzXo yes but the executor is a better choice and would sell better. The jedi temple could be made as an mbs set
Came to comments just to say the same thing, I’m surprised this didn’t cross his radar when discussing the prequel possibilities
I think an MBS Jedi Temple would totally sell like crazy, but I just can't see them doing it at $1,000. I personally couldn't see a Jedi Temple going for much more than like the $700 tag. Typically the vehicles are are more expensive. But, LEGO breaks their precedent all the time so maybe.
UCS jar jar binks figure is definitely gonna be the first 1000$ set
Shoot… didn’t even consider that option. But I think you’re right.
Shucks I think you might be on to something
Does he know?
$1000 UCS Ewok catapult
I think it would be cool if the first $1000 Lego Star Wars set was a master builder series set like a jabba’s palace or Hoth rebel base
jabba's palace with out a Leia Slave figure - no one will buy it.
I was thinking of a Cloud City remake in that style. I think it's iconic enough, and could easily reach the price bracket, especially if you include a full scale Slave I.
Fall of the Jedi Temple, very iconic never done before, could have loads of mini figures.
jedi temple or jabba's palace maybe, echo base does not have ean iconic shape and cloud city is probably too big for a good looking ucs
Or Yavin, in the same style as Hoth
"and who would want to buy a $1000 Gungan Bongo?" I see we both thought of the same person lmao
If I’m paying 1000$., I better be getting a fully 1:1 operational Death Star.
At $1,000 that'd be a steal! 😂😂
@@crazydog1750 that would be a blast
@@Johnu quite the explosive deal if I don't say so myself
Armed and fully operational
Diameter of manhattan at just minifig scale
😂 international LEGO fans: “you guys haven’t gotten there yet?”
🤣🤣
@@crazydog1750€1000 for the ucs falcon and at-at… let’s also try to forget that euro is worth more than dollars
UCS ATAT is already 1000+ in cad so
@@minecraftysits 8000 in BRL
Titanic $1000 rrp in australia moment (yes i bought it)
I think an execitive Star Destroyer is definitely pretty plausible, especially if Lego gives it an interior.
Real talk. UCS Naboo Royal Starship. Made with actual chrome pieces again. Easy 1k
I feel like a Jedi Temple could also be a possibility. Since it is an recognizable location, they could make it a master builder’s series to include a bunch of minifigures (+depict order 66 in a 18+ set out of a child’s price range), and it does sound structurally feasible. However, I could see the space issue coming around as a problem, so maybe the temple can be split in 2-4 parts
A Jedi temple would be so dope.
As fast as LEGO is raising its prices, the first $1000 set will probably be a polybag with a single minifigure and a handful of bricks and parts.
I remember the UCS Super Star Destroyer not selling very well. I remember it heavily discounted at Lego before retiring. If Lego looked at their previous sales of that set, I don't think they'll do it.
too long too expensive too big, yes it didn't sell very well and yes it was heavily discounted
Meanwhile in a Australia there are quite a few $1000+ sets
Same with canada :/
same here in nz
The lovely Venator Class.
I just commented something like that
I hope LEGO remakes a $1,000 UCS Super Star Destroyer. It is time to retake the crown for the longest LEGO set.
If they release a luckrhulk in scale with the mini scale providence I may cry
The example Lucrehulk MOC shown in this video (35.5 inches) is only 10% longer than what a Lucrehulk would be at the same scale with the miniscale providence (Invisible Hand).
For reference that MOC is 17k+ pieces. If a smaller, 32 inch Lucrehulk was built, it would be in the exact scale as the midi Invisible Hand and could feasably get down to ~12k pieces or less if some details/greebling were cut out. It would still be absurdly large, but not impossible to manage.
I think the biggest hurdle is just the demand for that type of ship just isn't there unlike a Millennium Falcon/Death Star/ISD/Executor.
I would love if they built it. I would have to buy it even it cost a kidney. Ok metaphorically speaking. Still one of my favorite ships ever.
As a Canadian i was confused as we already have multiple 1000$ lego sets
I think you’re right about the Executor being a $1000 UCS set, it just won’t be the first. The first will be a Death Star playset.
1.5 times the size of the two Death Star playsets they’ve already released, with 25 minifigures.
Given that the most recent 2016 Death Star 75159 ($499) has 23 minifigs (plus R2-D2 & R3-M3), I would really want a meaningfully larger number of figs. Maybe 30? even if quite a lot were extra imperial officers/troopers.
I think 1.5x radius of previous death stars might be too much. That would result in 2.25x the cross section area and 3.38x the volume. Lego Group could probably get away with something like 1.3x the radius (resulting in 1.7x cross section and 2.2x volume of set 75159). Weight and piece count would likely end up around 2x.
Ah, I didn’t realize the previous set had more than 20 figures. I also was thinking just today that 1.5 times the size is too big. What about 1.25 times and 30 figs?
Or, I could be way off, regardless 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Cloud City would be my bet. It is very wide, but this one could be floorstanding, with a base of clouds.
I could honestly see a Nebulon b frigate or MC80 cruiser being ucs sets, although I don’t know if people would really recognize those ships are from Star Wars.
I would pay big money for a Nebulon B lego set
A Minifigure scale ghost set would be my choice, but there’s no way they’d make their most expensive set a ship from an animated show. Rebels hasn’t gotten a set since s2, and the ghost was remade recently. It’ll more than likely be something more iconic from the movies, like a Falcon or Death Star remake.
A 1k Super Star Destroyer would be pretty cool, could let Lego put a spot to re-create the iconic Bounty Hunter Scene from EP 5. Another thought that came to mind was when you brought up the Millennium Falcon, imagine they do a Kessel Run Millennium Falcon from Solo, have the Young Han, Young Lando, Chewy, Qi'Ra, L3-37, and maybe another minifig or 2 in the set. I'd understand the distaste for another UCS Set that could be seen as the same thing, but its an option Lego has.
minifig scale UCS juggernaut Turbo tank would be SO cool
8000 piece super star destroyer, similar to one-case's moc, at $1000 for the 50th anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back would be my ideal scenario
edit: lmao just realized this was in your top 3 XD
I think Jedi Temple is the most likely. Imagine a Rivendell-esque rendition complete with every Jedi master from the prequels along with Palpatine, Padme, and Anakin.
Another option would be the Naboo Palace.
I'd say that a large R2D2 ( maybe 1:2 scale) is most plausible. This set would appeal to fans of each trilogy - and let's be honest, who does not love R2D2.
I don't see a half scale R2 costing a $1000. Maybe UCS regular cost, even if they put all gadgets in from the prequels.
Before even watching the video I was thinking it was going to be the executor as the video went on and you didn’t bring it up for longer and longer I thought I was going crazy it just makes so much sense
😂😂 I hope you were satisfied by the ending then.
I do agree that going with a Death Star I might create a fragile model, but I think a Death Star II might present some promise. With the II, it’s got a lot of crisscrossing plates for its exposed insides, so if you were to do that throughout the structure and only have the rounded parts on the outside as decoration, the model should hold up. In other words, instead of making it hollow, use your $1000 worth of LEGOs to fill it in and give it some structure and stability.
A minifig scale clone turbo tank would be sick
They could also do a Nebulon B Frigate at $1,000
That thing definitely couldn't support it's own weight with how thin it gets in the connecting section
@davisbreci5332 unless it had a really good support structure
@@davisbreci5332they’ve designed a UCS version already, probably just not as large as to be $1000 though
A what
what i definitely think is missing from here is a minifig scale trench run set, without a doubt people would buy it and adding an x wing and a few tie fighters into it would skyrocket the price
Master Builder Cloud City with Boba's Ship and Lukes Ship would be sick
It would have to have a slave 1 equivalent in size to the 2019 slave 1. Anything smaller would be a rip off. Same with Luke’s x wing. But more realistically, they would probably need to include a millennium falcon.
A ucs cloud city with a full interior may be plausible? Although the stand would probably have to support the middle/top section since the structure would come down to a point at the base.
I suspect that I'm a cheese who stands alone here, but I'd love to see a UCS Home One. That said, I'd also be here for an updated reissue of the Executor.
I get comments about a Home One all the time, probably twice a week at the very minimum. You're a cheese in very good company. Smoked gouda good company.
Malevolence. It's my favourite ship of all time, unfortunately it didn't get too much screen time nor became a fan favourite but a ucs malevolence is probably the only ucs set I'd ever buy. I am not a huge Lego collector and even a smaller ucs like the X-Wing would be too big for me, even if I had the space I wouldn't want a huge set taking it up, but a malevolence, I'll make space. It has an older version which I would love to get my hands on sometimes (500$ used😭) but that's pretty small. I don't think they'll ever make one cause there would be no one buying it so until then, I'm just going to try to moc one
The Tantive IV on that scale would be so amazing!!
I would say the Executor too. It's been a while since the last UCS version and I was actually disappointed that the last version was a smaller desktop set
I agree with the $1000 SSD. But a Slave 1 in that size would also be really cool.
I feel there are so many options, and Lego should be creative. I think they could be setting something up with the diorama's. Maybe a hoth battle big diorama that you can display both as a massive battle or as a line on a shelf.
- the bunker
- speeders
- wampa cave
- trenches
- reconnaissance droid
Etcetera
Or the jedi temple? The building is iconic and could have so many Easter eggs and play features.
Maybe a ucs millennium falcon but lego introduces a sort powered up effects kit with light sound and movement.
A propper cloud city set might be possible with propper engineering at the base.
And maybe finally a UCS USS enterprise ;p
Definitely could see a UCS SSD for the 1st 1K USD set. Brittle brown Sandcrawler at that size has me very much worried about that possibility. And funniest part of the vid was easily 1:58 😂
That Super Star Destroyer is dope! I really think the Sandcrawler or a Hoth Base would be ideal at that price point.
I think it could also be Jabba's sail barge. Iconic scene, a good way to include fan-favorite characters (Jabba, Bib, Boba, Max Rebo, Huttslayer Leia, Lando, maybe even Yak-Face) and a new Sarlacc build would be nice.
The UCS set this fall is gonna be a $600 sail barge, so I can’t imagine they’d remake it at $1,000 before something else gets there first.
to be fair, if i was going to spend 1k on a lego set, it might just be the gungan wongo bongo
I agree with your top 3 possibilities, but I'd be most interested in the Sandcrawler myself, It'd be such a visual departure from most ucs sets and set itself ahead as a fresh change i think.
But out of everything mentioned, i would absolutely LOSE IT over a Lucrehulk.. it would most certainly be a space issue for sure with that though 😂
“Not everbody can dedicate an entire coffee table to UCS Falcon” I was going to say hold my beer but then I display it at an angle too
😂 Yeah, if I ever get it that’s probably how I’ll display it for sure.
I think the Ewok village could be made into a UCS set. maybe a battle of endor set that includes the ewok village and AT-ST walker potentially. with multiple features and play features it could be fun and also satisfying to build and look at.
I also think increasing the number of minifigures and massively printing those minifgures, could help reach the $1000 mark. Going back to the Sand Crawler, what if they include Luke, Uncle Owen, 1/2 a dozen Jawas and 1/2 dozen Droids with detailed printing (arms, legs, backs, etc) could help to account for the higher price. Not to mention if they avoid stickers and use more printed parts, would also justify the higher price. One of the complaints about Star Wars UCS sets are the use of stickers instead of printing. But honestly, Lego's goal would be to sells set at a price point they know they could sell a lot of the set. At $500, they could sell a fair amount, but when you go to $1000, that number will decrease of those that could easily drop $1000 on a set. Lastly, within the Lego community there are differences in collectors, as some focus more on minifigure collecting and will buy sets just for the minifigures and end up parting out the set or selling it without the minifigures online at a much lower price. I myself prefer to buy minifigures, as they do take up less space for me to display that some sets. And honestly, sets can be easily built from random parts, unless they have some unique parts that a person can only get by buy the set, much like the minifigures.
One thing for sure, it has to be recognizable. The niche audience who would buy them want something classic, nothing anywhere near Disney or the like.
Also, I spy a wildly underrated channel!
The exterior of Home One, incorporating elements from the interior set within.
In Canada there is already several sets at the $1000 mark
Deathstar II, I'd buy a Star Killer Base, but I doubt many would. Lucrehulk would be interesting, but that would be all I would consider getting from the PT (Not a fan). Snoke's supremacy would be amazing, as well as any of the updated ISD.
I just think it would be super cool to get a UCS version of the Solo: a Star Wars story Millennium Falcon. It would be massive. Think about how many pieces you could add to the front section for the escape pod. It would also make the set considerably longer than previous versions, and you could include a minifigure of L-3 and some anniversary minifigure.
I think we're overdue for hyper detailed scaled up ships. Imagine a 2-foot fully-functional Delta or Eta fighter, I'd blow money on that in a heartbeat.
The massive ships are awesome but we're limited by how few there are. So many cool ships that haven't seen love in a while.
Mando N1 is cool but I need a brand new Naboo spec twice as big
The Death Star II would be a very cool set to get that big. Or maybe a huge Battle of Endor?
My guess would be a $1000 Geonosis arena battle with all of the Jedi minifigs and tons of droids. Maybe with mini laat’s too
A large cloud city. Almost Eiffel Tower height, supported on clear brick pillars, removable top with interior and a lot of minifigs. Small falcon & slave1 on landing pads etc…
I saw the UCS Falcon in person in a British toy store in 2018.
honestly they should focus on large ships to be a UCS. Like the Venator and star destroyer are really good examples of the best UCS ships. Because it also looks good when we pose it with the other normal sized vehicles and the minifigs. Like it makes sense to get them in a large scale. Not many would want Luke's landspeeder as a UCS, but we have that.
But one ship I feel that was missed from the list and I'm surprised we haven't gotten it till now (probably because of the complexity of the outer shell) would be the Munificent-class star frigate.
Either that or the invisible hand would be great when placed next to the UCS Venator
I’d love a Munificent of any kind, honestly. It’s so dang overdue. I did a whole video essay on it a while back, in fact, talking about why we never got one.
The Mon Cala Home One would be a cool $1000 set too
Honorable mention: Munificent-class star fighter from the prequels
I'd say It'll likely be another ucs falcon except with full interior and every figure ever associated with the falcon (han, chewie, luke, leia, r2, 3p0, obi-wan, lando, nien numb, rey, finn, old han, old luke) + tfa radar dish and other accesories like a rathtar or mynocks.
A $1000 set probably can’t be a single item. Might have to be a complete scene with multiple ships/items. Jabba’s palace and barge for example.
a bigger (and longer) super star destroyer would be difficult.. i have the original and i have difficulties seeing how to enlarge it, which you would have to do to justify the insane price.. the original has its flaws, but amending them would demand lego to invent the wheel again..
The first 1000 set will most likely be the Falcon, a star destroyer, the super star destroyer, or the death star
I thought that cloud city would at least get mentioned here. I mean it only had two sets to this point and both of them are selling for a crazy prices on the second marcet, so the demand is deffinetly there. Its also very iconic location, and if done right I think it could look pretty good on display as well. The only things I see issues with is the room it would take and the, and the consideration if it can even be done by lego in this scale. Over all I dont think it would be the one, but I sure think its at least a good contestant
Imagine a $1000 Eclipse Class Star Destroyer. It's a shame lego doesn't do Legends/EU stuff anymore; there's so much untapped potential.
Home One would be such a cool left-field pick for a ucs set but i don't know how structurally plausible that is
I can think of a few good ucs sets one being a malcalimary cruzer or from the first order star killer base or a mandator Iv class dreadnought
I would absolutely love a giant lucrehulk. can't even explain why, but I'm sure it has something to do with the Republic Commandos missions
I would actually be pretty excited for a ucs malevolence
I think it would be cool to do a pod racer set and include a bunch of them and sell it for 1000. Could get like 1-5 Pod racers with great detail and maybe even mini fig scale
Really there are three possibilities
1. And probably the most likely
Inflation and scale creep increase prices till some half important set cracks that barrier
2.Full fan appeal.
Appeal to a small amount of people ridiculously expensive set and ignore the mass appeal entirely, probably only producing as many as were pre orders. Probably the least likely option
3.The death star. (Or maybe tantive)
You want the widest pool of people to appeal to as physically possible. The sequel trilogy doesn't even have enough have appeal for a regular ucs, the prequels are more popular but a lot still don't like them and we are going for max mass appeal.
The ot has the only option but even then you can only get the most wanted and iconic ships
And well even the executer isn't that iconic and well we just got a version.
It also can't be any fighter because you have to isolate that ship don't with another version of itself.
The regular star destroyer is possible but unlikely since we already got a version fairly recently
The tantiv 4 is a good possibility while not quite on the level of the big six ships it is still extremely popular and iconic and well physically possible.
Really if possible the death star it has no prior versions to compare to and will be the center piece of any collections
A really big bad Y-Wing would be lovely
I think a standard Imperial Star Destroyer would be much cooler. The bridge on it makes for a better model to build. They just came out with the smaller version so I think that will be the next kit close to 1k, but I'm thinking it will be more in line with $899 instead.
I couldn’t see it being a ship tbh. My list is Mustafar or vaders castle, naboo palace or a Jedi temple
Seeing where prices are going I wouldn’t be surprised if the first $1000 ends up being smaller relative to sets like the at-at and the falcon
Watching Episode 1 in theaters last week made me realize how badly I want a senate chamber set. Like a big one. I think Lego could make a killer set and they could do it with play features like removable senator pods, and the elevating central pod. Add some nice Yoda and Palpatine minifigs and you could recreate that iconic fight.
I think a death star would be more likely with more metal pieces/supports like the at-at
i would love to see a tie-defender as a ucs set
Agreed, the Executor is the most likely candidate. But, Lego should really consider making a good UCS Home One (Mon Calamari) cruiser.
Thought about Home One too. Long and sleek and doable at 1000$ scale, but tbh the ship just doesn't look that interesting.
Like, I don't know if people would pay that much money to have it on their shelves.
@@moritzkibler9915 including some other ships with it (fighters, those rebel troop transports, perhaps even the Falcon or the stolen imperial shuttle) all at a good scale could work
Would rather the first $1000 set be something that pulls out all the stops like a master builder set. UCS sets are mostly just for display, whereas master builder includes high levels of both detail AND play features, basically being the pinnacle of lego design for the theme at the time. They did incredibly well with the Cantina, not just because it looks great and has a lot of functions, but because it's also modular meaning it's easy to find space for it. I find it hard to justify $1000 for a pure display set, but something with both form AND function? Much more reasonable. Ideas for them:
Jedi Temple
A FULL Yavin 4 base/Massassi temple
Geonosian Arena
Geonosian Droid Factory
Theed and its occupation(My personal favorite)
Jabba's palace
Battle of Kashyyyk
Coruscant senate building
Kamino Tipoca City
Otoh Gunga
My thoughts were the exact same about the Executor. Additionally, I feel that the original kit was not well executed (see the complete lack of detail on the underside), and it is due for a refresh, a la the 2 ISD kits. It would probably take $1k in parts to upgrade it, though.😅
Executor would sell no matter what, I think lego might go to $1,200 range and still sell it.
For other contenders, I would put my vote at
- Mon Calamari Star Cruiser
- Nebulon-B Frigate ( although it lost UCS voting it would make an amazing display piece)
- Slave I ( I am not a fan myself but everyone I know would jump on it).
Oh, I don’t know how would they display it vertically but Grand Admiral’s own Star Destroyer Chimaera, that would be amazing UCS set.
Fo
You mentioned "Space" as an issue for the lucrehulk, And I feel like any 1K set would have that issue. Also Depending on the success of the new Midi Scale line, I have a feeling lego might shy away from Giant expensive sets Especially with current inflation and that, more people will buy a smaller Midi scale set thats waay cheaper vs the inverse. As much as Id love a Minifig Turbo tank or A huge Executor, Most people can't Drop or rationalize spending $1000 dollars on essentially a brick.
I think the Death Star or Death Star II are the strongest contenders seeing as we haven't had a remake in a while and they are very recognizable
I could see them Making a Death Star that can be converted into either the 1st or 2nd Death Star. Duel Of the Fates or Mustafar Displays i can also see.
A battle scene could easily reach $1000 (i.e clones vs droids). It’s basically what collectors do but done for you.
The profundity rouge one,Outrider Dark empire,Anakin’s 2003 clone wars Star fighter or, 2008 Delta 7,revenge of the sith ETA-2 interceptor
I think you’re right about the executor being the first, but people would definitely buy a $1000 mtt, especially if they made it with the full troop compliment and a functioning rack. I’ve seen Mocs where that’s possible and the price is usually around the $1000 mark.
MOCs are typically way more expensive than official sets, though. A $500 custom set or parted out MOC translates to like a $200 official set.
@@crazydog1750 True, but considering how star wars sets are generally more expensive, and how they could easily include extras, an mtt would be a great 1000 dollar set
Another possibility is a set featuring a minifig-scale trio of Jabba’s Khetanna, Skiff, and Sarlaac. Not only is it one of the most iconic ground-based scenes from the original trio, the minifig of Leia alone may drive up the demand.
Perhaps… I feel like if it’s gonna be anything Jabba it’ll probably be the palace with maybe like a playscale Kheranna to park in his garage or something. I don’t know, lol.
I literally don't see any other answer than a Death Star set. With an interior and a shell. That last part would be the most important part.
I know im late, but i do think theres one ship from the sequels that could possibly be in the discussion. The Supremacy from Last Jedi. Even among people wgo hate the movie, most people seem to love that ship. As for display, due to how its shaped, having a head on display would be wide but narrow and very intimidating.
Home one, Raddus, resurgent SD IMO. If your gonna spend big bucks it does have to be a starship of some sort don't think ive seen any mon cal ships before either
I personally think a location build from Star Wars, as opposed to starship builds, would be pretty costly, and due to many iconic locations from Star Wars (like Coruscant, Bespin, Naboo, Mos Eisley, etc.) people would clear really big spots on their shelves just to showcase these locations in lego diorama form. I say this mostly because Lego themselves made Rivendell (from the Lord of the Rings) a really decent UCS type build in recent months, and pretty reasonably, it would only make sense that they would make other builds like it, and what's a better franchise to do that from than Star Wars?
I mean, I'd love to see Endor in UCS scale, we've only had playsets of it here and there.
What about cloud city? I feel like they could do that and have the different areas be fully modular so that space wouldn’t be an issue for the people that don’t have space to display it all in one place.
an average lego brick costs 10.4 cents, with that in mind, a minifig with a helmet and blaster would cost 52 cents, 1000 divided by .52 gives us 1923 which we will generously round to 1949 which is when lego first came out, so I think the first $1000 lego set will be an army of 1949 clone/storm/whatever troopers
What about an Ewok village? Lots of figs, space wise you could make the different sections modular and it wouldn’t just be a large grey build
About to build my ucs venator, have a whole ass bar cart to keep it on
Superstardestroyer is a really strong candidate but it will be the 2027 Millenium Falcon remake, with full interior and all snots not on top. In fact, it already exists for two Mocs have already been made that hit all criterias plus, honestly, what is the ship that would sell the most for Lego ? Even if i have the 2017 one in my coffee table, i would buy the new one. I would buy multiple copies of the superstardestroyer, though, given the price reached by the first one on the secondary market is already 1500 bucks. 😂
They could do cloud city or star killer base, I think those would be pretty cool. They could also do the supremacy from the last Jedi. Even though I don’t like that movie, I think that ship is cool
The Death Star is bigger than all of the ships discussed and it could include a Tie, X Wing or other ship(s)
Imagine a $1000 ucs pod race set. Like the whole mod espa starting grid!
