    I like how this video shows the reality of running. Not every day is great, and they captured a pro's bad day hahaha

    The editors make running alone in the winter with three-day old dirty snow look so fun and upbeat. There is no less pleasant experience as a runner than running in the wintertime. Also, that was the most cocky masseuse ever, lmao.

    I LOVE this! Training is EXTREMELY hard work with little material gains (fame, money, prestige, etc.) for MOST people who dedicate themselves to it. However, it is an AMAZING phenomenon and feeling when your times decrease. You can run competitively well into your senior years if you're willing and able to keep training!😊

    Slow running....easy jogging, for extended time period (not mileage focused) increases capillary beds to muscles...according to articles I read. BUT you need intense interval training.
    Late 70's I jogged w a girl as my only training.....ten miles took about 90 mins.
    I had no plan and no coach...just started after year n half off.
    But I raced weekends...quite fresh.
    1st ever 25km 1:19:20.
    First Marathon 2:25. (Just waited for last 6 miles) Following week 29:45 10k road/cross country..(over Duncan Macdonald)..then US Nat XCo in Seattle with Seattle Marathon next day (2nd 2:20 lost by 13 sec)
    So my point is the increase TIME of running not mileage, I believe was key.
    I just wished I had thought of it.
    Also being able to run repeat miles in low 4:20s shows you need speed not just long running to hit good times

    • @the_norty_rider
      @the_norty_rider Před 5 lety +1

      Did u do repeat miles in 4.20s, or just saying a good runner needs the ability to be able to do them? Could u give us an example of your progression to sub 30mins 10km and a brief traing plan of yours? Thanks. Ive been stuck in the 30s for 4 years!

    I'm wondering if I have to type anything no it doesn't look like it I just haven't uh read anything about the punctuation for this this app watching this cam elevens episode one of driven was one of the most enlightening things that has happened to me as a track and field coach as a distance running coach ok let me try this now highly recommended please enjoy this man and watching him train in the middle in through snow through the winter get a quick look at his internal mechanisms at work this young man was in the young as much as young anymore is absolutely amazing so I'm using the dictation app for the first time and I need to figure out all the punctuation yet thanks for putting up with me

    I think the problem is when he doing those intervals why he can't hit those split's is because his mileage during the week is to high, not enough recovery time, and not enough focus on speed work.
