I heard it for the first time a few hours ago, which is surprising, because I'm 60. It reminded me of when I was younger: like the time I visited a friend who knew the woman I'd just started courting. I was very happy until my friend said she'd bumped into her and heard all about the new man she was dating. This was a shock as I though I was, but her discription sounded nothing like me. Turned out it was, it's just that her discription was more a reflection of what she wanted than of reality, to the point I didn't recognise myself. When next we met I said I don't know who you think you are going out with, but it isn't me. You'll be continuously disappointed and I'll be heartbroken.
Justin Woolums no not that great of a movie. Only great because Joaquin could give hell of a performance same with Reese. They made it seem as if it was John that was always chasing June when it wasn’t like that at all.
They actually pulled it off!!! ....To think, a human, let a lone two ......could actually mimic legends!!! You both deserve so much more than what was given .........BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS on the planet after this one!
Reese said she had to study singing and playing an instrument for "Walk the Line". You would never know it from this song. Reese and Joaquin really nail this one. They blend well together.
It's no "Cash song" at all - written and performed first by Bob Dylan. Which detracts from neither Johnny's & June's nor Joaquin's & Reese's performances... :)
I love this version better, just sounds much smoother ,came looking for John and June but didn't quite go with what my mind remembered from the movie had to hear Joaquin sing it...
I love Reese and Joaquin voices together. But I was a Johnny Cash fan long before this movie was ever thought of. My dads, dad was a Johnny Cash fan and my dad grew up listening to him. Me and both my sisters grew up the same way. People look at us sometimes like we only know of him through this movie. There are still people who love that mans music! He will forever go down as one of the best musicians to ever have lived!
Amazing stuff 😉 the two of them should have got 4 oscars,1 each for acting and 1 each for singing, wildwood flower is just beautiful, great film it really is xx
No one can ever top the amazing Johnny Cash, obviously a classic country legend, but also an amazing cross over artist covering everyone from Bob Dylan to Nine Inch Nails, but I must say I like the Joaquin and Reese version better than Johnny's version of the song. That's no disrespect to Cash, that's just a compliment on how well these two did, how great that movie is, and how hard they worked.
On this day in 1970 {April 29th} Johnny Cash with June Carter performed "It Ain't Me Babe" on his own ABC-TV program "The Johnny Cash Show"... Six years earlier on October 31st, 1964 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #58 and spent 8 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #4 on Billboard's Hot Country singles chart and #28 in the United Kingdom... R.I.P. Mr. Cash {1932 - 2003} and Ms. Carter {1929 - 2003}...
Everyone thinks it was John chasing June... in the film yes but in actual fact it was the other way round... he really loved his wife but it was being on tour not seeing his family what drove a wedge in that marriage... June was only too happy to fill that gap plus she was touring with him which made it easier... I read it somewhere... also both of them were taking drugs not just John but that wouldn't make a very good film now would it... 🤔
MsMimilala. Hey.just reading comments but shoot, had i done some real reading and looking into all that is know although, it does come of as a surprise because tyke movie did make me curious. Hahaha! Tbh this actually measlesme feel better about the outcome of the movie lol considering "it's a movie; anything that sells right" and yeah it's like a..full in the blanks kings of thing
someone in 2024? great song!!
Yuuuup
Joaquin and Reese did justice to this great movie.

They actually pulled it off!!! ....To think, a human, let a lone two ......could actually mimic legends!!! You both deserve so much more than what was given .........BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS on the planet after this one!

FlashakaViolet not sure what armorize is but yeah they totally compliment each other

beybarys But Bob Dylan sucks ass so as far as I am concerned, its a cash song. Dylan is a good writer and thats it. terrible vocalist.
Dylan's a great singer but Johnny Cash could have picked plenty of better Dylan songs to cover
I love this version better, just sounds much smoother ,came looking for John and June but didn't quite go with what my mind remembered from the movie had to hear Joaquin sing it...
I like this verion so much..... hope to see them again at the movie with music.
Joaquin Phoenix passed away
His brother did, River Phoenix, a decade before this film was made....
William Miles 3

Joaquin an Reese did Great job on this song. Loved them both an the song ,along with the movie. They are two naturals at what they do.

Ms witherspoons name misspelled. Joaquin and Reese do an awesome job portraying John and June, even their singing.
A great story of love and passion and two very very good performers who let me speechless and on the basis of emotion.

That was just great. I can’t imagine why 225 people didn’t like it. Maybe just because it wasn’t John and June? Go figure.
Everyone thinks it was John chasing June... in the film yes but in actual fact it was the other way round... he really loved his wife but it was being on tour not seeing his family what drove a wedge in that marriage...
