everyone plays Raiden , because Raiden makes almost every unit better, she gives energy, elemental burst damage, consistent electro application and off field damage, PLUS her owm damage is competitive on every level f2p or whale, and she has the most busted early constellation in the game "C2". not to mention she is one hot mama

@ The only problem I have with Ei is you'd think she'd sound more like the Shogun than Baal since she is the warrior twin but its more of a nitpick than anything.

the thing i value most about Raiden is her her ability to recharge the whole party and her kit all build into ER is great design as well. At first people don't realize how valuable her ability as a party battery can be and until now a lot of people i met still don't, they only care about her big pp dmg number from c2
I legit dont understand why people didnt think she was good during her release, were people so caught up on overworld solo burst crit numbers they actually dismissed her strength within abyss scenarios
like I love this game but I've never seen such a massive portion of any gaming community have such incredibly out of touch perspectives of character strength, like people ranking bennet as amongst the worst characters during 1.0
@@renzbolado153 the thing is even at C0 when build decent she still can hit for 100-200k on initial burst in the abyss with proper team rotations, I 100% agree with you. I have C2 now but C0 Raiden impressed me from day 1.
Also the last 3 abyss’s, another hated character Kokomi has been amazing for me as a DPS on Ocean clam set. She has been clearing abyss with ease, and her ability to quickly heal and not get staggered in her ult is so valuable. This community hates everyone on release and it’s sad.
My biggest issue with her is her not having any use outside the national team.
In Eulas team it's better to just have diona + Yae for batterying and electro application and TTODS buff.
A sub dps for Yoimiya? Childe dishes out more dmg while utilizing Yunjin's buff during Yoimiya DownTime and this whole team doesn't need any energy with Yunjin using favonius and bennet being built with energy recharge from the start. She doesn't even fit in a freeze time because superconduct unfreezes the enemies.
Honestly, just being a battery always makes me think of her as nothing necessary because very few teams have a desperate need for burst without having a support that is just as effective as raiden while having more utility than her outside the battery work.

i''m someone with kazuha, someone who pulled for kazuha despite saving for another character specifically BECAUSE of how good he was and how good everyone was saying he was as a buffer. something like a 5 star bennett was what they were calling him during his banner, at least in the places i frequented.
same story with raiden. even to this day i keep hearing people parrot the talking points against raiden during her banner, the biggest one being she "only" refills 24 energy or something... lol
yeah she refills 24 energy, per enemy hit... just make sure you hit multiple enemies during your burst window and she will refill her own burst before the cooldown is up. i realized this day one of her first banner, and its amazing people still don't understand how she works...
i'm always confused when i hear people talking about all the characters who they thought were weak and skipped them, but here i am with all of those characters for the exact opposite reason. did people literally not pay attention or read their kits?
the only characters that are now considered good after their banners that i had initially skipped were the ones that got buffed later, (zhongli, albedo, kokomi i might get at some point but i'm still not super convinced she's worth getting for me personally)
i also skipped venti the first time cause i didn't want him at the time, since it was early on and didn't understand limited banners, and i missed his second rerun because i didn't have enough wishes saved up when he was announced. got him on the current rerun simply because i skipped a bunch of banners to save up specifically for him.
How to fix electro: you don’t, just do big number and charge up the other elements users for even bigger number.

I could be wrong for the first statement but there was definitely a buff to Raiden after the first banner
I also heard that they were dissapointed in Zhongli because he wasn't good at dealing DPS, I could be wrong about this since I wasn't into genshin community at that time. But yeah genshin community is always ready to jump to conclusions most of the time so I stopped listening to them.

As an owner of a F2P obtained C2 Raiden, she does live up to batterying teams whilst still obliterating anything she sees

As a F2P, I always had the mentality that getting more 5 star characters is better than constellations until I got Raiden during her rerun. She's so fun, versatile, and powerful even at C0. I went from struggling in floor 10 to reaching floor 12-3 for the first time after I got her. Farming artifacts for her has never felt like a waste either because I got some great pieces for my other characters in the process. Overall, Raiden drastically improved my entire account. I'm honestly thinking about saving for her C2 after getting Kazuha because she's convinced me that she deserves it.
For me she was the first character I didnt even think twice about double crowning
More character the better, because abyss meta will change, just like the current abyss, u can see her usage go down because of rational can't handle small mobs because of overload, u can still 36 star with her, but u get better clear time if u replace her with anemo unit like sucrose
As someone who broke his Genshin Budget to make sure Shogun had C2 and Engulfing Lightning...it is absolutely worth it. I spent WAY too much money during that banner, but I do not regret investing in Shogun. Every time her burst kicks off and she absolutely CHUNKS whatever giant monster I'm fighting...it's just the best. Boss monsters either get one-shot or lose 85%+ health in the opening blast. She's an absolute queen.
C2 is great since Raiden goes from a sub-dps to pretty much a main dps. I love using her so much I got her all the way to C3 (I didn’t want engulfing as weapon banner is evil and it is with the useless Kokomi doughnut).
Unpopular opinion(?): C2 Raiden is overrated, it makes the enemies die too fast so she can't battery her team as much lol
She carried me so hard in abyss & did 130k initial slash (fullstack) despite my crap build. She was amazing so imagine how shocked i was when i found out people thought she was bad when she was released
Update: thanks to the new event, she hit 179k 🎉
What’s your build because with my build of 58/168 with catch the highest damage my raiden did with full stacks is 88k

@@alchemy-the-animated-series my build is 78:101 with 1.7k atk & 250% ER. I got the big number while in bennett's circle & with mona's ult since my xingqiu's busy with hutao. Raw full stack without buff than yeah, pretty similar to your resultd

I remember when she was released and people were still saying, meh, underrated. I had gone ahead and pulled for her anyway and was like, oh no, did I really make a mistake after skipping all these other characters that were similarly marked as unnecessary?
Nope, she's great, and now everyone wants her.
No one usually has the perfect build immediately when a new character drops so it's just obvious no one should listen to immediate ratings.

the SAME happened with kazuha, he was called 5* sucrose but now literally everyone is waiting for his rerun
@@jellomello984 I mean he IS 5 a star sucrose, everyone was just dumb and underestimated sucrose, especially at that time EM just got buffed, and before that sucrose was a mediocre character so that sentence means completely different now and then. Sucrose is one of the strongest 4-star characters with high damage (especially against 2 or more enemies), easy to build, and great at buffing on top of decent CC which is exactly what Kazuha does too just slightly differently. The difference is each has their own team where they shine brighter than others. Sucrose taser is cracked even against single target even though it is specialized against group, and kazuha mono element team buffing is insane or double swirl childe international etc

I'll never forget the feeling of beating Spiral Abyss for the first time ever with only Raiden Shogun and Bennett being the only ones alive - I never have a team without the two of them on it for their respective utility purposes
yea they are cracked, only recently did I get enough 5 stars and resource to invest on teams without them, usually, I use Geo for the second team but now I have Morgana, Taser, and Eula team as well
Still love the little detail of shogun's puppet being the one to speak to you in the teapot if you haven't cleared the archon quest all the way up to the abolishment of the decree
she makes rotations so easy even with the energy hungry miko i always have bursts up
C1 Miko with a Kokomi or Xingqui has 0 energy issues, speaking from experience
Uri Bové yeah but that’s c1she goes from having a 90 cost burst to 66 so obviously she’s not going to have energy issues. But with a c0 miko not focused on er needs raiden or at least a fischl

One of the reasons why she is so popular is because of her beautiful aesthetic design as shown through numerous fan arts, cosplay, fan made stories, etc. She's even in some memes with her inability to cook. She also pairs with Yae's aesthetics.
Dang, it feels like all the Raiden controversy happened for nothing since wow when she came out she got so much backlash, definitely not as much as Kokomi but alot of people didn't find her to be good before and after release

@@maraisfan4life517 Beidou is the best DPS at c2 (better than raiden) so using Raiden with her is logical, raiden fills up beidou's burst, raiden buffs beidou's burst, Beidou's burst buffs raiden's burst, and Raiden can be on field doing damage and energy filling up while Beidou does off field damage.

@@maraisfan4life517 you don't need beidou but if it works she will be the most efficient character to pair with raiden shogun at the time and you know how it is with genshin players they want the biggest dps ever.
Raiden is so good because you can pair her up with legit, any other character. The fact she can turn amber into an overloading explosive arrow machine, make Zhongli pillars teslas, be the best superconducter and electro charger. She just doesn't have a weakness in her kit
She also struggles against shielded enemies apart from a lack of self sustain.
Which is why this week's abyss is the first time her usage plummeted by quite a lot since she has no usage against the Abyss lectors.
Though next abyss she will no doubt climb to the top again.

As a recent player, she was my first 5* character (got lucky on her pity), and she has carried my team ever since. Quickswap burst rotations are made easy peasy with her batterying.
Edit: also, it's really fun to imagine her saying "be deleted." during her burst's 1st strike
I’m a new player, and I get in right in time when Raiden banner rerun last month and when I met her 1st time in the archon quest I literally got goosebumps, and I’m so lucky to got her on last day of her banner 😢 and she officially became my 1st and only 5star ❤

I still remember that most people, myself included called her only decent at release, which was incredibly stupid in hindsight and it only took a few weeks to understand just how over powered she really is.
At first most people probably thought she would be a good battery but little more, as she is an electro unit her dps while doing her burst can't beat real main dps and most already had working rotations. But not only is her damage on par with the strongest characters, only losing to the most broken ones like Hu Tao, her energy recharge for other characters is so insanely strong that even with little to no ER on them they can spam burst with almost no down time at all, which in turn can make almost every other character stronger.
if you mean characters who have their ults at the cost of like 40-60 then yes. Or if you have Raiden's signature weapon. If not - then bullshit, you have to invest in ER to have 100% uptime. If we are talking about the national team all of your units better have at least 180 ER.
@@ryzhik9608 Yeah saying little to no ER is going too far, she makes them morea achievable tho, Xiangling eats energy like no one else and with Raiden I have to funel only one Bennett E to get her to burst again but yeah they're all above 180 ER.
I've thought that raiden needed a buff for her duration of her isshin state but after pulling for her because of her cool animation and building her, her normal attacks and charged deal insane damage and there wasn't a need for a duration buff, plus it would make her more overpowered than she already is due to the energy regen she provides
Looking back, evaluating characters on release is flawed to hell and back. Most of us didn't have her BiS set stats yet, we didn't have her talents maxed, and of course we didn't quite have her teams figured out.

I liked Raiden and I was a bit underwhelmed at the start but once I saw how she reduced my Eula battery to pretty much one Diona cast at worse I figured she might be good on other teams, never had I imagined that she would be my go to choice for one team in almost every abyss (not this one, this one doesn't want anything to do with her).
Kokomi is the character I trashed and I stand by it, you don't need Kokomi, she makes things easier but I wouldn't advertise her as a "must" as most of the people say today.
Short story, if I like the character I'll try to get him/her, I can 36 abyss with ease anyway, unless they come in Yae state then I'll riot.

I loved her even when she was just announced bcs raiden mei herrscher of thunder (honkai impact 3rd) is my favorite playable char on that game. And I promised to myself that no matter how bad she is, I'm gonna main shogun ⚡⚡⚡

Marketed as a support character but deals damage like a main DPS, because this is Raiden Shogun in the game's lore. She supported her sister (first electro archon) from the shadows, and fought in her stead during battles. Everything about Shogun ties so perfectly!

I still remember when she was first released. I wished on her banner despite people saying she's "bad" and "not good enough" and I'm glad I did. It was my luckiest pull session ever, as I got Raiden C2 with one copy of Keqing, Diluc and Qiqi each within 150 wishes. I double crowned her on the first day itself and took her for a spin in the abyss with my Eula, and boy she absolutely destroyed everything in sight. I was using Skyward Spine on her at the time and still her damage and utility was off the charts. Only people who hated her at her release were those who had misconceptions about her kit even before anything about her was released/leaked, most popular amongst them was her ability(or inability) to work with Beidou. And people were so mad about this that they started to downplay everything about Raiden just to satisfy their petty agendas. They blamed everyone from Mihoyo to the players who genuinely wanted her except themselves. Those number crunchers can never understand the value of the utility a character like Raiden brings to the team. It was so satisfying to see these same people pulling for her on her rerun.
Imagine speaking so high about utility when you're abusing c2 which is arguably the best constellation in the game. People were rightfully mad about the nonexistent interaction with Beidou as first, it was working in beta and was obviously made to not work and even the description changed for bs greedy reasons, and second, without her Raiden could only be run with Eula, a pretty niche and not exactly universally owned character. The discovery of Raiden national (which didn't happen in the first two weeks of the banner BTW) was literally her saving grace, without it she at c0 had no place in the meta.

I totally agree, when we first come to Inazuma and realize what's going on there and see Raiden Shogun's power in full display. You start to think, "Who will help us this time?" and you realize that no one really can, you start to ask if Ayaka or Kokomi can even help us. The only person I can think up that could stand up against Ei was Yae Miko but then begs the question if she would.
Even by the end individually Ei is the strongest person in inazuma. traveler only managed ANYTHING because of their celestial power and cooperation from yae, the person that knows the most about yae and is likely second strongest in the nation.

I hadn't been really convinced until I finished her story. The character has so many facets interpreted by such a great voice actress that I used thousands of crystals to get her. And she's been in my team ever since.

@@TheElino In German the currency for "Gebete" ( = prayers, but it's wishes in the English version I think) is called "Urkristall", which can be translated as ancient crystal, first crystal or sth like that. Never played Honkai because my phone is too old for games like that, which is why I play Genshin on my PS4. 😃

Remember when everyone thought she was hot garbage because her burst isn't compatible with beidou's or xingqiu's, and because of that she's not a "universal" support and lacks synergy with party members?
I loved her playstyle and character soo much that when I ran out of premogems and found all the chest I could (100% all the areas at the time) I went to grinded in this new area called outside, and got this new premium currency called cash by this event called a part time job that can be converted to primogems just to c6 her

Another thing to mention is that her trailer is single handedly the best one to ever release. Sorry Zhongli fans, But Nightmare is probably the best characterization in all of the game
It conveys so much without speaking a word. It basically tells us the story of Ei with her speaking less than the traveler. A story of progress, grief, and the passage of time. Her friends died, and so did her sister. It's no wonder she wants to keep Inazuma in it's place forever, but she can't do that, as much as she tries.
I'm personally a firm believer that she is the best part of the Archon quests along with Signora, but the mishandling of other aspects of the story (Resistance, Kokomi, other Fatui and Yae Miko) caused the story to fall apart. Regardless, I think her story is one of the best of the game
Her story quests are some of the best in the game since in the first one she realizes how she can't keep the world forever is stasis because Inazuma kept changing even with how much she tried, and then she rectifies her mistake of being an observer and allowing Inazuma to go down into despair.
In the second quest, she has to face the past in the form of Ley Lines and what happened 500 years ago, and then fight her old self (Raiden bot) in a battle for eternity. After that, she can finally talk to her sister one last time, before saying goodbye forever.

Absolutely god-tier character. Rolled on her re-run and I don't regret it in the slightest. It's just a shame that she's one of, if not the most, questionably written character in the game.

Kokomi joining the festival, or Kazuha, would put them at odds with a person who killed their comrades. Its kinda sad that they never got justice, just a "Oh, I was wrong, nvm".

She she is an immortal god that has lived longer than every non-archon character and will continue living long after Kokomi and Kazuha are maggot food. I think the main reason shes so great is that she has NO downsides. She doesnt need to be on the field to constantly be dealing damage AND giving your characters bursts a damage boost. Then when shes stored up enough she comes out, deals huge damage and gives the rest of ur party their bursts back. She has NO downsides, theres no reason not to use her and unlike Zhongli, her burst is engaging enough to keep her fun to use
I'm extremely grateful to have gotten her. It feels like a full circle moment, because I started Genshin when she came out in September 2021, and now to have her as part of my team is amazing. Ever since I've added her to some of teams, Baal has added so much damage and support to my team, haha

raiden was my first 5 star and she carried me through for a really long time until i got hutao. she wasnt even properly built back then and i was still able to clear most enemies with her. and the fact that she deals damage alongside another character is so useful especially if youre bad at building chars like me. its free extra damage.

I really love the fact that they did f2p weapon specificly designed for her. I mean, sure, Xianling can use it pretty good too, but with Shougun The Catch is shining, and if you did not get her signature that's ok, because you have a really good option anyways, what indeed makes her one of the most f2p friendly characters in the game, and you don't even need billets for this one

I've been saving for 5 months.. had upto 250 fates and pulled for her.. Thank you Vars II, it was this video that made me want to pull for Shogun.. i got her to C2 after 250 fulls. A year and a half later I own her C2 along with the engulfing lightning (as a f2p) and have double crowned her.

I also like the fact her gameplay design is not a burden for future characters and enemies, Venti is a looming threat for enemy designs, since he trivializes every interaction if they are ccable, Zhongli has basically killed any new shielder unless they bring more utility in super specific niches or they rework shields. Shogun doesn't invade or invalidate game mechanics, she just delivers where she can.
At the same time is impossible to nerf her since she offers too many things that are core to many characters, enemies that drain energy actually makes her better, making enemies resistant to electro? That takes the whole element down, enemies that take overflowing energy particles to buff themselves? Not like every other character generates particles. Antiburst? More elemental shields? None target her exclusively.
She became my favorite character because of her character design, attack animations, role in the story, and voice. She was also the first Archon I got back in her first banner. At that time, I didn’t really know her benefits in a team. All I kept hearing from all content creators is that “she doesn’t work with Beidou so she suck”
The one thing I will say about the Archons is that they're super fun to use together - usually while exploring, I'll use Venti's burst to round up enemies together, then Zhongli's burst to petrify them, and then Raiden Shogun's to finish off (with the added damage boost from the other two's bursts) - it really makes me excited to see what happens with the Dendro Archon playstyle

As someone who got raiden at c0 and the engulfing lighting in 3.3 as an f2p I felt like I could destroy everything in my path she works in so many teams she can recharge everyone's burst while also dealing good damage and with elemental skill always making a coordinaded dmg was pretty fun plus the fact that I got such an insane feather before her banner and ever since I got yelan using her with raiden in a team felt amazing she was also the first to ever deal over 200k damage like I just love playing her so much.
I pulled Raiden on initial banner and I barely even use her burst, I just love the extra energy recharge it gives

Got her by accident during her initial release. I was saving up for hu tao but I really wanted sara so I did one 10 pull and well yeah...
I love her though, back then I had a bit of regret. But now, she's one of my favourite characters gameplay whise and lore whise. I ended up getting hu tao on her re run though so I ain't complaining.

even if it was slightly edited, i find it pretty cool that my old Raiden thing is the thumbnail
there was a time between zhongli's rerun and raiden. about 4 or 5 months. all of that time i did not do a single limited wish. then when raiden came around I put all of my wishes together and got her+engulfing. let me tell you that was the best decision of my life. she is hands down my favorite unit to play at the moment and I quite enjoy her personality and lore. she and itto are my 2 main dps and boy am I happy for that.
Raiden remains, to this day, my luckiest pull. I got 2 of her with a 9 and 11 wish pity, getting a Diluc before and after. I hadn't needed the 80 wishes I'd saved for her in the end because she came home within so few pulls; my only banner 5 star with a constellation! Maybe on her 2nd rerun I'll try for C2.
Initially when I found out she was a polearm user, I was kind of upset because swords are my preference hands down, but her burst more than made up for it. I absolutely love playing as her! She's almost always on my main team. I was even recently blessed with her signature weapon; I needed stardust for the shop so I pulled 1 time on weapon and BOOM, got her polearm. I love her design, her power, her play style... she's excellent!
If they ever work on the flaws of electro, she'll be a force to reckon with, no doubt.
Her Character design, Raiden Shogun persona combat prowess/abilities and badass storyline made her the best character in the game easily.
When the day comes that I no longer play Genshin impact she'll be a fond memory for a good while.
