For those that give a shit, or don't know. Tom is talking about UKs Sonic the Comic which had completely different lore, characters and personalities to the US's Archie Comics.
Dunno which is worse, that or Malibu's Street Fighter which was cancelled in the US after 2 issues and bizarrely officially finished in Brazil

@@kerbal666 It's like the UK Transformers comic in the 80's. It started off just reprinting the U.S. comic, then ended up creating some incredible lore that IMO was way better than the U.S. version.

I would like to see a Sonic spinoff where Sonic is in his early 30s but keeps talking like a cringe 90s kid and is generally dreading the idea of growing up: Tails has a successful career as an engineer and is trying to push Sonic to mature, his other friends have moved on and the only one who encourages him is Eggman, whose obsession with their rivalry has led to his enterprises going bankrupt.

Tails always came off as one of those usually mild mannered 'Awksually' sceptics whom would occasionally put his foot down on matters that caught me off guard some times. Him taking a hard-line stance and not going along with Sonic's transition while spewing a bunch of hard gender science is pretty in character from what I remember of him in the games and comics as a kid.
Tails is smart, but also kinda cowardly and probably a left-leaning and wouldn't want to get cancelled by Twitter (or, Sonic "X"), so would probably do the "I support you no matter what you do" thing without actually denying the gender dysphoria BS, or pointing out objective science, and just keep his mouth shut even though he knows it's all stupid. One thing intelligent people are good at, it's keeping mouths shut while the idiotic majority of society does idiotic shit, like preferred pronouns and non-binary shit.

LOL I am just remembering the lead writer/editor at Archie comics on the Sonic series was the odd one making up crazy canon story lines. Japan had a Hell of a time keeping that guy on a short leash.
I have the comic where Robotnik (that's his name, Tom!) puts Sonic in the speedy machine and turns him blue then gets stuck in it turning himself into the eggfreak.
I'd give sonic the struggle of finding out he is starting to show symptoms of parkinson's disease.

1-I like how people literally gave tails this squeaky voice compared to his original voice simply because the male body voice has a hard time trying to do it and 2-it's also interesting to hear everyone's sonic voice while I've just given him back his 2000s voice but with a few tweaks
You could have made his struggle that he actually hates chili dogs but he's known for his love of them so he keeps eating them. Because he feels like he has to live up to society's image of him consuming the things he hates in large quantities.

Sonic would be cooler if they had Sonic brutally executed by Shadow in front of Tails for the ending of Sonic 3 then make a follow up game Called “Tails Revenge” where Tails loses his mind after seeing his friend die and makes it his life’s mission to kill Shadow.
Gas thing about Sonic is that despite years of voiced acted games, nothing will top when Eggman destroys Marble Garden Zone and Sonic & Tails team up to fuck him up.
That or the bit where the Death Egg fucks up the hidden palace zone.
Sonic struggles with making friends because most other characters are delusional and he lives in reality. That might be fun and appealing. They're constantly gas lighting him into trying to accept things that are blatantly false. Like giving him a bun with a pickle in it and calling it a chili dog, and getting offended when he calls it out.

If they have agreements and disagreements about Sonic, what about Mario.
One of the biggest disagreements about Mario used to be whether Mario was born in Brooklyn and Italian American with a Brooklyn accent (as the 80s DIC series and other media depicted him as) or if he was non-human and raised in the Mushroom Kingdom with a goofy Italian accent (as Nintendo tried to retcon with Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island, but since re-retconed with the Super Mario Bros movie.) Another one is Mario's height, as stupid people used to think he was like 5'3", when Super Mario Odyssey confirmed he's like 3'10" in Super Mario form (and pretty much always has been; him being 5'3" would make Peach like 6'2".)
Well it is technically canon that Sonic was diddled in his youth and is a bit on the spectrum ...

Sonia Adventures and Sonia Adventures 2 were my favorite titles in the series, they really fell off after those 2 once Sonnic fully transitioned, it was hard to cope with the direction of the series afterwards

Why not have him struggle with slowing down? He is *always* in super speed cognition mode so having a coversation with any regular person takes Sonic patiently waiting the equivalent of hours for them to finish speaking and how it negatively impacts his relationships?
