In reality - we're being very strict on Elisha and it's very likely that she'd score a band 9.0 in the test if she were to sit it properly. We just want to highlight some of the important things for students to consider.

In this video, we will be very strict with Elisha (again) when it comes to pronunciation. In reality, she probably deserves a band 9.0 but it's important to make all YOU GUYS (students) understand the importance of the band descriptors.

The pauses in the middle and letting us know the corrections are too helpful so that we could get it understood right away at that moment . This channel is such a gift for beginners , lots of love from India and I will do watch your videos continuously and build my language for sure!
Wow. Thanks for such kind words 🙏🏼🙏🏼
MY pleasure 😇
Hi I'm an electrical engineer from India it's my pleasure to watch your video's.
👍
🤩👍
Personally I find the best way to improve your speaking is to surround yourself with the language - listening to native speakers through films, reality shows, podcasts and practice speaking to yourself.
Great advice Thu! We say the same to our candidates 🙂👍🏼
@@IELTSDaily from my experience surround yourself in a community of native speakers and speak English every day. Reading and listening helps but speaking gives you great results.
Elisha did great job, she expanded her answers in a clever way, I loved her ideas and creativity
We agree 😊😊
I hope that one day everyone will be able to speak as well as Elisha as a result of studying these excellent videos. They are very well balanced, with modeling of the test, excellent guidance, critique and language teaching.
Love how this channel structure their videos. It’s extremely helpful :) appreciate the time and effort invested in producing these videos!
Thanks so much Azura. Really appreciate your kind words. IELTS can be very daunting so we try to make things easier. Glad you like it.
Another nice one! Absolutely liked the way she spoke. It lets bare of her profound knowledge on how to build up a coherent statement for an answer. I'm on my way to do so as well. Every day I devote portions of my efforts to perform a good English while speaking, but I also delve into writing as well. For example, she elaborates on her answers by explaining the point of the question she's asked. That is simply fantastic, not everyone does such a thing, and if you heard carefully, you'll realize how helpful is to be more "profound" in what you respond.
Thanks Vasco for your valuable input.
I have to say this is my most favorite ielts channel on yt!! you motivate me to practice speaking harder Chris!!
Really happy to hear that you like our content Nhat. Keep up the good work :)
Yeah, the examiner, she's very friendly and I have been watching some videos of her. I really wish to have like this examiner when I take the IELTS cuz I believe that'll make me take the exam easier and confidently.
Maddie is great :)
Yes, it's very helpful because you mentioned the mistakes as well as the good phrases.
Glad you enjoyed it
This popped up randomly in my feed, but glad to see the accessibility of excellent resources improving. I did my IELTS way back in 2018, and we didn't have resources as extensive as your channel's. Keep up the good work! I got a 8.5 in my speaking test, and my number 1 tip: It's often more important how you say it, rather than what you say.
Thanks for the nice feedback Omar 😊😊
Maddie would be such a good examiner.I hope my examiner keeps smiling all the time like maddie.

It's been a few days since I'm watching this playlist, and I try to answer the questions before the video by pausing it, and I'm impressed that I've gotten much better and more comfortable with that; I can see the areas I have issues in speaking and try to improve in those parts, wish I could come to your classes and learn more. Well done for the hard work you're putting in. Good job!
maddie is my fav, her aura is just too lovely
Though I don't have enough notion about speaking, but I tend to believe that the way she spoke, definitely she deserved this score . Because of, she was speaking super fluently 😊
Beautiful girl - beautiful voice - and beautiful pronunciation 👏🏻♥️
I took an exam just after one week of watching your videos. Boy was I lucky or it was something else, I scored 8 with 8 in speaking. One week and 8 bands. Thanks to you guys especially Saskia. Keep it up ! :)

I really enjoy watching this channel to get higher band score
I consider she has done a brilliant performance. It must be very difficult to be aware of your pronunciation when trying to think of ideas and good expressions to use. I would be stuck in a situation like that for sure 😰. Excellent Elisha !! 👏👏👏
She was really excellent, we agree.

You are my favorite.. IELTS teacher..the way you explain things are so.. so..much amazing could you please do some videos on pronunciation.part it would be a great help thank you..
Hi Ishara. Thank your or such kind words. I'm really pleased that you like our style.
I'm from srilanka that's why I really need more pronunciation practices.. actually we miss proncunce some words..do if you can love to watch your all videos..
Hii...I found your videos quite helpful...one suggestion from my end-please try to elaborate meaning of words and phrases that candidate use and you repeat during pause.
That involves some student self study time.
I have a question that needs answering. I have a tendency to stammer and stutter while pronouncing words and when I was a child, I used to stutter quite vigorously but I have improved a lot and only stutter when I am very anxious, excited and nervous. Is there a way to inform the examiner on the problem so that they can be lenient with pronunciation?
I think it's important to let the exam centre know when you book the test and when you register on the test day.
Your videos really helped me thank you
You're most welcome - glad you enjoyed it :)
I think she deserves over 8 in pronunciation since we understand her. Do you know that examiners around the world may not be native English speakers and have some pronunciation issues due to their native language like the one who examined me ? He was Indian . I was perplexed because I'm not used to listen to Hindu English speakers , believe me he was pronouncing v as w and vice versa . .
Yes. If you read the comments below, we said that she probably deserves over an 8. In the same way that in the writing test, If you make one spelling mistake, your writing drops from 9.0 to 8.0, we were very strict here.
When I took my IELTS exam, Examiner asked me the same questions about picnic...
Thanks for letting us know :) When did you take the test?
I took the exam in February 2021 in India.
@@dev-saab how it went? I'm also thinking to take it, for fun.

You're welcome Mani
Very good and informative videos. Can you please make a video about how to arrange a short note to do the speaking part 2 successfully?
lovely,all the parts
Thanks 😊👍🏼
Finally , if you want to speak more about " depends on " , I think you can say sth like related to , rely to , concentrate about ... I think you can directly rephrase instead of using this phrases. It will let the examiner think you are thinking sth but you do not tell him / her.
Hi Chris, I think your Channel is extremely useful to practice speaking part. I took my actual exam in Adelaide today and just wanna share the topic I encountered today - hope it will be useful for the recent exam takers. Part 2 question: describe a puzzle ( crossword, jigsaw, ...) that you recently did. Was it difficult? How long did you spend doing this? How did you feel? And the related part 3 questions, I was asked some questions about human brain, how to exercise it. I was also asked some questions about detective books.
Amazing - thanks so much for sharing this Amanda, that's incredibly useful for test takers.
Thanks for such kind of useful videos
Welcome Sarvinoz
I wish to get a friendly examiner like her in my test.
I really like how thr examiner was friendly , the first time i took my ielts the examiner was quite serious and scary that i really stutter a lot because of nervousness and cried after the exam 😂

Your Videos are really inspiring me, i am aiming at 8 in spk, i am wandering how many grammar mistakes are accpeted for band 8, thanks so much
The majority of sentences need to be error free. It's very subjective and there is no one number.
She is so lucky she studies in the University of Melbourne, Australia.
She use a lots of "depend on" in her conversation hehe!
I like the examiner more ❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you its really helpful
Thanks Thushara.
Love and huge respect from India
Nice ☺️👍🏼
I wanna more Elisha😭😭
so what phrases convey the same meaning as it depends/depends on?
I am looking forward to watching this video, particularly to ameliorate my pronunciation 😉
Ameliorate is not normally a word which we use in everyday life.
@@IELTSDaily why, Chris. I reckon that it has the same meaning with the word of "improve", hasn't it?
@@IELTSDaily can I use this word in the speaking or writing parts of IELTS?
@@user-vs2tg1ds3g Look in the dictionary, you'll see it has a 'formal' usage. We never use that word as native speakers.
@@IELTSDaily thanks a lot for your feedback, so, I have to forget this word, I am delighted, Chris.
Hi there! could anyone explain what they mean here please?
21: 23 yeah, so I got about fifty on the dot for the subject.
22:30 (why do you think you have that extra motivation) after you were just hitting bang on fifty?
They both mean 'exactly'
hi, I really like the way you feedback and feedforward and its too much inspiring indeed but this girl's way of presenting herself was not so much lively as it should be. She used a flat tone all through the test that sounds too much monotonous and discouraging as if she didn’t want to sit for it and you compelled her to appear at the test. She was a little bit trackless and Maddie has to be much patient and calm for understanding what she really wanted to convey. See Maddie in different minutes of the test, she was trying her best to be relaxed and listen to it carefully. The sentences were mostly fragmented as we find with the new generation. She should be more composed. I really haven’t sit for the test but I feel that if its done in such a relaxed environment, It's going to be a new but a very good experience for me. Thanks for everything. I luv IELTS Daily
Hi there how are you doing, I have a question, she answered a little bit long for the question of picnic, is that okay because my teacher says like just give two or 3 sentences and that's enough?
Waiting..
Hopefully you enjoy it :)
Goo to heart Elisha response , she has good grammatically awareness and well-presented the content . Some Suggestions can be given . She can try to use the passive voice , some inversion in the sentence patterns . It can be more naturally present their viewpoints . In the content part , she can tell more the benefits of studying psychology and how psychological can reflect your life or values after you are saying about the reality and you can be (an) understandable person. --> Sample : I think I can have more benefits after studying this programme , like understanding the reality and become a considerable person , after that , I can think about my career path and future development will be related to the psychology and reflect my self , like why people will violate the law , encounter the crime . It is because __________________________ (Some theory and one interesting examples. )In the career part , I think she has a wonderful performance and she should try to compare the psychology programme between Singapore and Australia and justify why you select this programme , it can be more connected with your master mindset . In the picnics , I think she had a good speaking in the circumstances / she want to have the good quality time or face-to-face to meet with friends after COV19 pandemic . Don't forget to compare with the before , what difference between you have the picnics during in COV19 pandemic ? Do you worry the COV19 health risks ? After you mentioned about the picnics food , you can mention more why you select ? What is your favourite and friends favorite ? Why you not choose your countries food ? In the music part , if you are familiar with the music , I think I can be understandable . You can say more the benefits of listening music , like relieve music ? You like what types of music songs ? If not , you can say more about the drawbacks of listening music , why music is not your favourite . Don't say the story and it may have down grade (grammar mistakes + not well-elaborated). In the music types , you can also say the types of international and some domination , particular culture , like the korean and you can be compare with you want you say , like American . the content would be more fruitful. In the prize for second part of speaking , if you say more the meaningful / reflective of the prizes would be better .
Wow! Very detailed.
You got another subscriber..
