    The problem with allchat wouldnt be toxicity coming from the enemies, it would be your teammates giving up map info to the enemy when they want to troll

      @@user-eh2kl5pc2s league also has the most toxic playerbase of any game and it is not even remotely close. Riot has acknowledged that all-chat should be removed, and they tried to, but players are too attached to it.

    As far as the first 3 proposed changes are, I think these changes are too solo lane centric. Hybrid are 80% bought for solo and the nerfs to assassins really feel like a "I don't want to be killable" proposition. Making jungler less efficient early, and protection more potents late. I'm not saying any of these change are individually bad, but as a package it's fairly bad, at least to me.
    One change I'd like is the revert of the roaming camp change. It made the start obnoxious and easy to mess up for new players, and made fighting for middle harpies far safer by bringing them to you. The only positive was that is slightly made invade easier, but it feels like a bandaid over the broken arm that is the invader curse

      Physical gods have been super strong and even OP for all of Smite existence because of the 100% power scaling.
      Physical gods that rely on auto attacks don't need 100% auto attack scaling cause there damage comes from items.
      The rest of his changes are straight up insane.

    id like to see extended item tooltips on items like how much total damage I've dealt from bluestone, soul reaver, etc. Or how much lifesteal I've received from Soul Eater.

    This is insane. Solo would crush if only auto cancel assassins were nerfed. The itemization just supports these characters too often.nerfing their autos while buffing hybrid just sounds like a recipe for disaster along with the prot scaling. Unkillable tanks that just blow up the enemies. It'd be the meta where only hybrid items and warriors in the jungle

    Also a scroll option for reading item info for console. I may just be an idiot, but on controller I can’t see all the text for some items, and although there’s a scroll bar I don’t seem to be able to use it. Maybe I just haven’t tried hard enough on that one though.

    Add negative scaling to damage based on prots, if you have 130 base prots, you deal 10% less damage to enemy gods scaling up 75% less damage at 650. This prevents tanks from building 1 or 2 damage items and still destroying backliners.

    Generally I'm not a fan of invades specifically because of the early game level 1 invades. However something that could be interesting is maybe each team has full vision of their side of the map until minions spawn. AKA if you want to invade you can but you won't have the surprise aspect anymore. That's the risk you take with invading super early, the enemy will know you are there.

      the problem with this idea is that invade meta in s6 was so prevalent, everyone expected it every game even in casuals if you saw specific supports.

      They need to sort out the XP for invading pre seven minuets with the cut XP gains The enemy jungle can miss out on, Tiki, mids, and back camps, but still be ahead on xp. From lane minions. Not worth invading maybe blue buff would be the only decent value invade

    I have another one, although this might be a stretch by this point:
    _Glyphs for ALL tier 3 items, Starter Item upgrades and even Relics and Consumables._
    It would give players A LOT more to do with their gold throughout the game and lead to some crazy builds.
    Also, proper Relic versions of the early game shards would be cool too.

      That would probably be tons of work for the devs. So many different passives to assign and balance. A cool idea, but if this is supposed to be simple changes, this would be one of the most time-consuming options for the devs.
      Relics having two options again would be good (although they've gone back and forth between one and two a few times by this point). Consumables, I have no idea what that would be. Relic versions of the shards could be fun, although the full relic version of golden shard is scary to think about.

      Here, make it so that the relic version of the shard had the following upgrade:
      PASSIVE - All Basic Attacks will also hit enemies within a 10 unit radius of the target for 15% of the damage to Gods and 15% of the damage to Minions and Jungle Camps. *_For the next 5 seconds after you have finished casting an ability, the damage dealt by this item’s passive is increased by another 15%, and you gain a 10% increase in basic attack speed. Stacks up to 3X._*
      So basically it’s be like bleeding a bit of Hydra’s lament into the G. Shard.

    I think a hybrid item revert would be the worst thing for me personally. It never made sense that the dominant strategy for years was always "this item gives 5hp5 5mp5 5%cdr 15 power 5 pen, 55 mana, and 150 health 15 of each protection bro how do you not see its just objectively brokenness compared to this other item that gives 45 power and 15 pen."

    I think invades would become a problem immediately in casual play. Low level casual play is already struggling from massive snowballing due to the matchmaking system not being the greatest, adding early game invades will make the game feel unplayable for new players who are still getting used to everything.

    To answer your question on the math thing for how protections function, it's not exactly possible to just create a new formula to make protections more potent at higher values while simultaneously being less potent at lower values with Smite's current "X item gives Y protections".
    A formula like this would either require items to some type of additive percentage change (say X defensive items multiplies total protections by 10*X%), which could potentially be a reboot of the infamous mitigations meta. The only other viable fix would require completely rewriting the protections formula to become a piecewise function (the current formula is damage is multiplied by 100/(100+X) where X is protections, and a hypothetical piecewise would be 100/(50+X) (which gives 33% reduction at 100 prots instead of 50%), then switches back to 100/(100+X) when protections exceeds, say, 150. Though a piecewise function like this suffers from a few issues, such as flat/percent reduction overall having a stronger impact on tanks, having a very awkward game feel (you lose the pretty smooth linear feel and instead you'd jump from 49% damage reduction at 149 protections up to 60% reduction at 150), but more importantly, HiRez not messing up a formula like this given this game's history of being built on 12 years of spaghetti code from a now very outdated engine.

    I think the Protections Formula that you are looking for could be either "Actual damage = Inicial Damage * 2^(-Protections/100)" which makes it so that for each 100 protections your damage input is halved, or "Actual damage = Inicial Damage * (1-(Protections/(100 + Protection Cap)))" which is closer to what we have now, but without diminishing returns

    Maybe 100 / (100 + Prots - (Scalar * Prots)) This way the divisor gets smaller when the prots gets larger.
    Edit: Did the match and it works really well to make the graph more horizontal.

    Invades right now just punish yourself more especially early game. I went heavy on invades with the new Tiki mechanic. Not worth you will fall behind on XP even after doing more camps than your enemy. all they gotta do is soak up some ez waves and be on their way. I also played a toxic supp game with upgraded TP minuet one with relic dagger. stole about 6 speed camps, tiki buffs and mids, the enemy jungle was still close in XP tp my jungler lol

    level one invade became meta and killed off so much starts and charachters. that i will never budge on being one of the more unfun meta that should stat in the ether of unallowed things. However lesseing the invader penalty would also be nice but i am not fond of a pure snowball meta. Some snowball is fine but pure snowball is also unfun as it ultimaitely comes down to who and what items are good in the early rather than individual skill... but that is a braoder topic and mechanic aspect.

    Im confused by you stating theres more power in smite now then before. The lowest power on like full power items was 40 and it went up to like 75+ physical power back in the day. I feel like power for both magical and phys gods is far far lower then it was. Mages used to average 700+ power and jungles 350+

      It's lower than it was pre-10.6 but still higher than the early days of smite due to power creep.

      @@Inters3ct I don't think that's true either hunter builds in season one averaged around 290 power meanwhile you typically only hit 250 in current assassin builds and just over 200 with hunter builds

    I've always advocated for #3, the current protection formula is absolute dogshit for a game like this and the only reason no one complains is that we're all used to it
    it makes 0 fucking sense that a mid laner can buy one breastplate and all of a sudden be mitigating half an assassin's damage until they're capped in penetration, by which time the mid laner will already have alternate timeline and go back to mitigating half damage

    1. Good idea, since you specified hunters and aa assassins would get looked at to not get impacted by this
    2. Horrible idea. We still have hybrid items and their extremely volatile and problematic designs show why prot and power items needed to go and need to stay gone.
    3. Great idea, but would need adjustments in the early game due to the 9.5 revert otherwise you would kill people wayyyy too easily.
    4. Horrible horrible idea. Leagues existence showcases why all-chat should never occur, they have the same fail-safes as your idea does and it just doesn't help. We do not need anything that incentivizes further toxicity
    5. Horrible idea. Definition of insanity. s6 was the lowest the smite playerbase got until this point, and s6 was invade meta. Do not reverse invaders curse or invade meta will inevitably return, and honestly, do we need more snowball as well?

    Hybrid items were dumb. Terrible for balancing, in solo and jungle. stat bloat. And as you said, solo laners don't need power to clear now, so what's the point. It's not like solo laners don't do alot of damage right now. %pen scales with prots but prots don't scale linearly. Meaning the more pen they have the more effective your prots to mitigations, that's why %pen is good, not broken, and especially with the 9.5 revert flat pen is alot better and %pen is inherently less effective on all gods

    I think it would be amazing if they reworked the protections formula because for some reason they want to consistently buff hunters and mages and give them all types of free damage and pen as well as giving a lot of their abilities protection shred. Pair that with the fact that hi rez nerfs tanks with a swiftness at every chance they get leaving no counter play against dmg dealers especially hunters. I never understood why they want to keep buffing crit and qins but took nemean lion and now dmg reflection from thorns out the game for tanks.

    The only one I genuinely agree with is bringing back the hybrid power/prot items
    For suggestion 1, AA canceling is truly annoying, reducing damage by 15% for all AA to fix it is not at all the way to fix something that problematic since it would blanket nerf practically all AA and create a situation where ADCs and AA Assassins all have to be buffed or else we would end up with a heavily mage centric game or ability based game as a result. Lessening the effect of running up into someone’s face and making it much more likely a kill would get away because you didn’t deal just that little bit of more damage.
    For Suggestion 3, it would end up resulting in a far different problem. Squishies are already now squishy enough with 9.5 being reverted by altering the chart to make early prots more weak would mean people would die far too frequently. There’s a reason why this formula is used instead of alternatives.
    Suggestion 4, you mentioned already that private messages and team chat already exist. There’s no reason to add that toxic fueled wasteland in as well unless we have to constantly waste seconds each different game because we find a child raging at why Herc can’t die.
    Suggestion 5, in my opinion, is bad. While it’s interesting to invade, it can penalize new players far too heavily as skilled players would just keep raiding your shit. In addition, the point of invading isn’t to simply boost yourself but to deny your opponent from receiving that boost. Snowballing might become too severe a problem if something like that went ahead.

    Everything sounds fair, except for the hybrid items. On that one, I think you need to stop smoking fam. 😂😂
    I understand you're a warrior main, but no. Just no. It's not just JG's who abuse it. I would literally run Skadi with a warrior build into Solo lane back in the day & I knew for a fact I was being toxic. Hybrid items are just too easy to abuse, and locking them to warriors would be unbalanced.
    It's much more reasonable to let players hybridize their own builds by sacrificing a defense item to pick up some damage. It actually shows more skill expression that you can decide what's more beneficial in the moment.

    Honestly, one change that would help a whole lot imo, is making AA it's own damage type & changing/adding certain items with an AA stat. It would do a lot to balance the game. That way you couldn't have high ability damage & high AA damage at the same time. It would not only level out Assassins, but warriors, and Hunters as well. Might even do something for Mages, but they're kinda irrelevant when it comes to AA.

    These are all great, all chat would be so fun and like you said the mute button exists, definitely think the prot formula could use tweaking and something else I think should be implemented is for solo/tank designed characters let abilities scale with prots over power like a lot of characters in LoL do. Incentivizing full defense builds but still making their damage relevant

      Yeah I'm all for more unorthodox scaling mechanics like prots, health, mana, etc. But that's deffo more of a large change that might be best for SMITE 2 (which it sort of is going in that direction a little, not as much as LoL/Dota tho)(=

      Yeah but not.
      All chat is good for other games that have low to average toxicity like overwatch. In Smite when someone is trash talking or insulting you in dms you just block him and you're sure that it stopped there and keep playing normally. With all chat say you're a solo laner and you're struggling against a bad matchup, even if you block the guy who's bullying you, he can still turn your team against you and tell them that you are trolling or something, so you block him but still want to keep an eye on what he says to everyone,...
      Also trash talk between the two teams will be something, and at the end of the discussion one team will take the lead and mock the other, so the other team will have nothing but to blame the one who apparently is performing the least (junglers and supports of course lol) and this never ends.
      So instead of just playing, people will spend the time typing shitty stuff.
      Oh and lne more thing, whenever you want to troll your teamte, say a jungler, you can just wait for him to invade enemy jungle and make a call for the enemey team 😂

    The main thing hirez can do is stop stealing cocaine from Rito games and make proper baalnce changes. I saw Ctulhu on this patch too many times on 3 different roles. (Supp/solo/jung) And everytime this shit roflstomps. Agni is top tier meta for god knows how long. Anubis even tho people saying is ez to play against is wining every single lane. I even saw support anubis 20-2 today.
    They just need to stop forcing tanks and gods for toddlers.

    For the last I would say remove invaders curse but keep the penalties but maybe reduce them a tiny bit. Right now it is actually encouraged because you net xp over the enemy if you steal their buff by quite a bit and it would get out of hand if it was a full 200% dps swing on every invade

    I've played league a lot. A LOT. And smite has left a worst impression than league.
    I found more toxic, shit talking people who say the worst shit in smite than in league. And I've only played smite for like 180 hrs and I've played league for a lot more than that.

    The auto-attack changes... hmm... If you just did it to assassins, maybe (although auto-attack assassins would need tweaking). Just as a blanket change to physical gods seems like it would gut most of the hunter class if you didn't exempt them from it (or just way shift the meta to mage ADC's).
    Bringing back hybrid items and evening the slope of the diminishing utility for high protections would be nice. Getting all of the mitigation from prophetic is rough without mostly going full tank, but it takes a long time to stack and you have to pretty much go full tank to get the second level of mitigation (which, for the reasons you mention, is not very incentivized). Probably the most annoying thing about removing hybrid items is: they didn't, they just mostly did. Tainted and the upgrades, warding sigil and the upgrades, warrior's axe and sundering axe, and sacrificial shroud all bypass the ban on power/protections in the same item. Debatably Ratatoskr's defense acorn does as well, but that's % protections instead of a flat bonus, so I'm not sure if that counts (plus it's only on one character). Gladiator's shield is the most iffy. I like the current version, but I miss the original sustain version as well. I would probably either have both in the game as separate items or make one the basic version and give it glyph options (one of which would be the passive not on the base item).
    The all-chat seems like it would cause more problems than it solves. Both teams can already talk in post-game lobby (on PC, I don't know if console is that way). It probably wouldn't be a very even spread of complementing opponents for good plays and witty banter. It seems more like it would be something most of us would turn off within a few games. Maybe more people than I imagine would like it, though.

    For me I think the the formula would be like this: Max Prots would be 425 (every 5 prots you gain 1 damage reduction) You can go over the cap up to 95% damage reduction with items and abilities. This can be reduced if need be but yeah, I thibk this would smooth things out imo

    I disagree with the one or two prot items make you “super” tanky. In fact the reason why hybrid items are strong in the jungle is because they get enough power to clear and then are tanky early on in game. This would do the same for solo laners being able to destroy anyone up to minute 10-15. Building full prot is effective. There is a video where this guy shows all the math with all the different prot and pen. The problem with building only one or two defense items is because then you do not do enough damage late game to kill with a rotation of abilities. It works on mages simply because the way they scale but that is usually only done if youre being done dove and it’s phys prot because jumpers are usually phys and they go on the mage added bonus with every pve does phys damage
    Idk if this is all stated clearly but yeah…
    At the moment the hybrid items or so to speak hybrid items in solo are really strong. Mystical mail, archdruids, binding.
    My point being. Atm you won’t see baba played rn or hunters building void shield simply because the loss of damage for the one prot item is not worth.

      If inter refers to only junglers being strong with hybrid items. Well that’s because they end up “statted” with too much power where they can clear and be tanky for the early game.

    I was a guardian main and love being a tank but after 3000 hours of this shit game keep buff hunter and giving little to no counter build for tank. Build protections-> hunter get %pen -> builds Heath -> hunter get qin's sais. You can't win as a tank and better of just building power and full kiting the hunter instead of be punish for building tank. And the few items the counter them, midgar Mill is good but not enough since most hunter has a stim that just nall it. T4 relic dagger is good but give no protection, is expensive and again don't really do anything because of stim, there support having shoguns, war flag, talisman energy. Spectral armor is great if they build crit, if not then you shit out of luck. the two items and only two items to build and only one give protection. And if there a magical adc well your screwed the two items to counter them don't give magical protection. I loved that game but getting nothing to deal with auto base gods just felt miserable as tank main

You can’t just look at one role vs another, you have to look at one role vs all of the others and how one change to make it better vs one might make it worse vs the other or too good vs the other

    ALL Hi Rez has to do is go back to how season 6-9 where. Firstly, completely remove, re work and go back to the matchmaking system BEFORE season 10. Thank God Smite 2 will have "improved" matchmaking. Second, bring back hybrid items and damage on items such as glad, shifters, voids, cad and runic. Third and finally. Just go back to how healing was. Increaed healing from power. And balance it by going over 100% anti heal.
    With launch of Seaon 10 which goes against the Geneva convention. It truly is absolutely atrocious and through season 11. Up until the nerfed 9.5 is all the crystal clear evidence season 10 should've never happened.
    Finally, im happy you agree about hybrid items. Cry adc players. Smite is at its best when warrior solos where strong. Also just have it so hybrid items could ONLY be used on warriors and guardians. Simple.

      Matchmak8ng with forced crossplay needs be reworked. Im PSN and before forced unwanted by me crossplay the game was balanced. Now im quing againts adapting or his friends smurfs all time. Consile vs PC is unfair

    I think HiRez should just have base stat categories determined by god kits/playstyle. They kind of already do but if they doubled down they could easily just say “all ability based hunters/assassins have 85% scaling on basic atks.” Then the auto atk hunters and assassins aren’t hit by the sweeping nerf.
