    This was the best explanation of how to fit a backpack that I have seen online. Well done, bro.

    The load lifters can be pulled closer to the body, especially on steeper paths, to shift the weight more towards the center of the body, providing better balance and stability.

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  Před 2 měsíci +18

      Great tip. Definitely a fine balance. If you pull too hard, you'll put too much pressure on your chest. I play with them as I hike and adjust where needed.

      @@DialedinHunter When I hike I pull on them real hard. I do this with any pack over 25kl lol just makes it easier for me. (probably really bad for me)

      @@charanimations9801Same here when I don't pull them hard I always feel the backpack pulling me back and it's uncomfortable, when I have them pulled as much as possible pretty much, I feel the backpack is closer to my body and I don't feel the pulling back. I can stand straight with no pull back feeling, if I don't do this I have to slightly lean forward cuz the backpack pulls back

    It's truly amazing what a difference this can make on a hike. When I first started, I had bruised shoulders the next day from not having the straps done right. Wasn't until I hiked with a buddy and they pointed it out to me that I had it all wrong. all the weight was on my shoulders.

    I think its a body type and conditioning thing. If you are v shaped with big shoulders and small hips you gonna want everything ripped up high so it feels like its all on your shoulders pushingdown like a squat bar.. If it drops down it feels like its underneath your centre of gravity and pushing your hips forward. People with buts are better carrying it low and boxy square people in the middle.

    The loadlifters are a bit too high, aka your backpack is a bit too tall for you. They should sit more horisontal whilst you have them at around 45 degrees. Otherwise a great video!

    • @DialedinHunter
      @DialedinHunter  Před 24 dny +1

      Thanks so much for chiming in, and kudos for noticing that. Those load lifters are VERY intentionally put at 45 degrees rather than horizontal. Load lifters are meant to help "lift" the load off of your shoulders. In my experience, horizontal load lifters result in weight being pulled backward and against your shoulders. This isn't likely a huge issue for things like backpacking, although it should still apply for optimal performance. Where you'll really notice the inefficiency, though, is having 80-100 pounds in the pack, which is incredibly common for people that backpack hunt. Thank you for the kind comment on the video and I hope that makes sense. 🙏🏼

    • @Hildale86
      @Hildale86 Před 22 dny

      @@DialedinHunter Absolutely, wasn't ment to ruffle feathers.
      I was going to add that it all depends on what kind of terrain you are traversing but the little one demanded attention so I had to cut it short. :)
      In my experience, having a more horisontal position of the loadlifters "snugs" the backpack a bit more to your body, which I prefer carrying 40-60 pounds for 5+ days, but I see your point when going heavy.
