Pay is stagnant and the cost of things are increasing. Self sustaining, money saving activities have to be intergraded into lifestyles. Otherwise more and more money is going to sucked out of your wallet. Eliminate subscriptions, don’t over pay for something that isn’t going to last you and create more value overtime. If you’re middle class you’re going to have to be smarter than what’s working against you. The goal cannot be riches.. it must be sustainability and happiness that comes along with being self sufficient. Take necessary steps to create passive income and steps to stop spending carelessly.

No, I have not become a millionaire but I've still been able to support my family, put food on the table and to evolve my world in more prosperity... Is this worthless? This work feels so truthful to me - I have seen and been told by so many that these camps are so important for so many. I'm probably older than most of your viewers and I learned the hard way that hard work is a sucker's game. Hard work usually gets you the boot when the cuts come, and the cuts always come. I know that's counter intuitive. When the cuts come, they typically don't care who is the hard worker or anything else. You're a number on a spreadsheet. Hard work may move you up the ladder (although very possibly not), but the top of the ladder is who gets cut. Instead of hard work, try to build a small, loyal group dedicated to getting ahead collectively. This is hard to do and I was not able to do it. I've studied successful people and the one thing I see as a pattern is they always have a "team" or support network or whatever you want to call it. Andrew Carnegie and Elon Musk both had their brothers, just as two examples. Without a team of at least one other likeminded person who has your back, just give up.

I know a lot of really hard working people here in Canada that are up at 4am, finish work at 9pm 7 days a week. They're still struggling to pay the bills, have beat up old work vehicles, and can't afford a house or more than 1 kid. Some own a home but are slaves to double or triple mortgages that were the only path to getting one. Every month the taxes go up, inflation gets worse, and their pay doesn't go up to match. It's really sad to see the tears behind their eyes every time they get a bill that's 50% higher than they were used to. 50 years ago these guys would have had several homes and 8 children, all well taken care of.

This realization came to me about 2 years ago. I waited to go to college for 3 years while working construction making decent money and saving as hard as I could, I got an associates degree in Architecture because it was cheap. Got a great job and have worked my way up to $90,000 a year with no college debt and living in cheap places paying less than $500 a month in rent/utilities. Then I started listening to podcasts of these rich people getting richer and richer while just flexing online and I realized just how poor I actually am even though I am doing much better than 90% of the people around me including my family who lives paycheck to paycheck. It seems impossible to find success.

There is always someone richer than you. It also applies to many other things. For example, there is always someone with better physical shape. It still does not mean working out is meaningless for you.
There are so many factors involved when it comes to financial wealth. Do not let the content, rich guys post on social media devalue the things you actually achieved on your own.
There is nothing wrong with making 90k a year if that is a sum you are comfortable with. Motivating yourself to make more money just because some other people are richer is a toxic motivation in my opinion.

I had a friend who was an insurance salesman. He got to look at actuarial tables and studies showing how people of all social/economic levels handled their money. He said almost everyone simply spends what they make. Either on stupid stuff, which is routine, but on stuff that moving up in economic levels requires. Examples: 1) You become a lawyer. Now you aren't wearing a $100 outfit, but a $1,000 suit/dress combo. And you'll need a good few of them, custom tailored. 2) You become a lawyer. To maintain the social cohesion and network strength necessary for you to become a partner, you need be vary wary of saving many thousands/yr by bringing your own lunch to work, or eating at McDonalds -- now lunch is $30, or $100. And you'll be going out to even more expensive dinners whether you really want to or not. Your old perfectly serviceable beater isn't good enough any more -- now you need a Mercedes to impress clients and maintain the image of the firm. So for reasons smart, at least defensible, or flat out stupid, most people go into their later years way more broke than you think they'd be -- and often the only thing that saves them, now that pensions are mostly done for most people -- is the ridiculous price inflation on homes. Sell and move somewhere much cheaper, pocket the difference and use it to help fund your daily retirement needs. Anyway, to really increase your financial security, of course prioritize making more money. But just as important, be sure to invest and not just spend spend spend to your limits and hope you'll do a little better at saving and investment next year ...

The 401K is a failure, owning a home is now extremely expensive, the bar is always raised and you feel like you have to work until you die just to make ends meet. Now no one comes around and I have lots of work but just a small crew to do it. It is very frustrating and all the businesses I deal with have the same problem.

The middle class always has been, it always is and it will always be, as Dao always is as well.
You can see things in duality if you prefer directing your attention towards it or you can choose to come from the neutral point of view and aknowledge that duality dissolves into wholeness by complementar unity - one serving the other.
I personally think that working hard is a misleaded perception and a false belief which has been somehow indoctrinated by society.
It's not about hard work anymore when you do what you love, purposefull and with soul driven intent.
We tend to feel like working hard if we don't come from this place and state of being because we may haven't found yet what's ours to love on doing and we may have decided to go for a job which doesn't fulfill us, in the need of being able to pay our required bills and daily life.
How about turning the idea around and asking how this could help us instead of complaining about?
What if this may be an opportunity to even deeper cope and go within, getting to know yourself more, to thrive, learn new skills and fulfill your desires which you couldn't till now due to lack of time?
Unfortunately people tend to stamp and say that something is impossible till The One comes along who proves that actually All is possible if you have faith and believe in it.
So how about instead of letting our energy disipate by destructive thinking and limiting believes we start our breakthrough, getting even more creative and bigger than we've ever been before, expanding further on or perhaps, if you're so much against it, maybe you may want to find a niche which cannot be fulfilled by A.I... after a while, the imperfect may be even more apreciated and may have a revenue...remember the 50's-70's-90's ?...they all had and have a revenue, a comeback, being included as a trend nowadays.
What if we see it as an opportunity to strech ourselves and go beyond our self made limitations? People tend to long for the better, for breakthroughs and improvement. (E.g: in art and design the idea of using primary colors together was a no-go and 4 years ago it appeared as an innovative trend to combine the colors red and blue, marking a need for breaking constraints, reaching out, breaking free and becomming bold.)
      There are life patterns repeating.
Thomas Edison was one of its kind who revolutionized and implemented the beginning of a new era, a massive change was needed in order to propell ourselves forward, like it's been needed now as well, especially due to the last 4 years.
What if, with the need of the job position as an A.I. promt engineer, earning 300K a year, not only salaries rise but even new job opportunities show up... with answers for the question of how and what we could implement and do in order to keep our personal heart and personal light undigitalised? We may find in this field new working opportunities as well.
Maybe we may even reinvent and reorient ourselves, having even some more time for restoring nature and providing helpful and needed solutions herefore.
Yes, there may be shitty stuff as well and, as life always prevails, the question is: how do we prefer to see, what do we choose and how can we aknowledge it in a constructive helpful way, being there for us even more, making our nurturing contribution for ourselves and the world we live in?

The conflict between the middle class and the elite must be seen in proper context. It naturally exists in every society. Elite members tend to join hands, cooperate and conspire together in order to increase their power and influence. As their power increases, so does the appetite and they crave more and more. If left unchecked, the consequence is an oligarchy where a few billionaires own almost everything.
From the society's point of view, oligarchy is an inferior solution. Lack of social mobility demoralizes the working class, causes apathy and waste of people's talents. It comes without question that "strong middle class" coupled with "economic freedom" is a superior solution, as it benefits everyone except for the elite. The remarkable growth of United States from backwater colony to an empire proves this.
An important feature of oligarchy must be understood. Every billionaire wants to achieve a situation where he is set for life and he is guaranteed to pass all his wealth to his children. A powerful oligarch producing half of carpets in the country may feel safe and strong at the moment, but what will he do if a talented entrepreneur comes up with an idea of a superior and cheaper carpet? This entrepreneur may win the competition and the oligarch's empire may collapse. From the oligarch's point of view, the solution is to achieve virtual monopoly and then every attempt at competition can be easily crushed by taking advantage of his their wealth and influence (bribe journalist to bring up rape accusations, bribe tax collector to perform extensive audits, steal competitor's best employees by offering better wages, etc.)
The emergence of tech billionaires was a disaster for the middle class. Two factors must be considered:
    1) By nature, software producer has far more influence than a carpet or detergent producer, because he collects information about people and this information has value
    2) It turned out, it is most convenient to have just one "Windows" or "Facebook" instead of 20 different competing products.
The emergence of tech billionaires shifted the balance completely and as a result, today the middle class is weak and steadily getting weaker. It lacks any political representation because the public is being constantly distracted with nonsense such as "BLM" "LGBT rights" "global warming" "abortion" and many other unimportant issues. I understand an internal, political situation in United States in such a way the the country is in a state of civil war between the elites and everyone else, but most people does not even know that such a conflict actually exists in the first place.

Let's break down some of the economics:
    1. Working alone has become less valuable because in younger generations both women and men work, while this was not the case before, when viewed relative to scarce resources which cannot be increased by more productivity. Such resources are limited, so more working people means more household income means higher prices relative to wages.
    2. Housing and other region-bound scarce resources become more expensive relative to wages because in desirable regions the influx of people is higher than housing and infrastructure have been increased in many regions, and can be increased in the near future.
    3. Capital has been made available almost for free during years, and with low interest rates, people and companies who have more capital can borrow more to invest, making the rich richer. Labor has become less valuable in comparison, as wages do not automatically rise with lower interest rates. That's because lower interest rates can be profited from by any single individual, while wages require a coordinated effort to increase, which we've only seen recently.
The abundance of capital that requires very little ROI has also directly and indirectly (through higher government tax income) caused low productivity jobs to fill out the labor market, essentially causing 'full employment' but with lower productivity.
This has also put more upward pressure on house prices. I cannot stress enough how much 1, 2 and 3 are related and at the core of the economic situation.
    4. People who don't work, but for example receive pensions, or benefits are not contributing to productivity but can spend money. Aging populations have a pressure towards less supply, more demand, but only in part of the economy.
This has been predicted for a long time (since before WW2 for sure, ever since the pension system was started this has been the main point of criticism).
    5. Then we also have more older people dying, putting wealth that has often been unused (their savings & home) through inheritances into the hands of younger people of who many would actually want to spend that money, to for example move to a bigger house (or other investments/assets) or just general consumption, further increasing inflationary pressure in those areas, such as the housing market.
This was my observation during the past 8 years and I've been calling this out since 2015. Back then we were in a good place to prevent all this by limiting immigration and increasing interest rates.
We are now actually in the time where things can be turned around since the system is under too much pressure and more people are recognizing that there might be a problem. Those who studied history know it is usually like this: things have to get really bad before they get better.

@@australianpatriot "a lot of rich people spend their time simply trying to make the number bigger, their life isn't all THAT different" Well, I'd rather to focus on how to expand my money into bigger money than to focus how can I pay my food for today, or how can I afford to put myself under a roof today! It is about making it a hobby. I guess you need to look into the perspective of a lot of these rich people ( which they are probably is the first gen rich people) that knows how it sux to be poor, so they keep hustling for more money, it is a lifestyle than necessity! It may be exhausting for you, but it became a hobby for them!

lets go over some facts on the ACTUAL state of the current economy in the USA:
    1964:
    >median cost of a car: $2,780
    >median cost of a house: $18,900
    >median family income: $6,600/yr
    >minimum wage: $1.25 (appx $2,500/yr)
    >price of gold: $35
    2023:
    >median cost of a car: $42,500 (+$500/mo in extra cost of ownership fees)
    >median cost of a house: $392,000 (+$500-1000/mo in extra cost of ownership fees)
    >median family income: $64,240
    >minimum wage: $7.25 federal, up to $15 in some states
    >price of gold: $1925
    raw %Δ:
    >median cost of a car: +1428% (x14)
    >median cost of a house: +1974% (x20)
    >median family income: +873.33% (x9)
    >minimum wage: +480% (x5)
    >price of gold: +5400% (x54)
in 1964 the US dollar was tied to the value of gold, this was undone under Nixon - and as is pretty obvious the value of the dollar and the value of labor has been completely overwhelmingly outpaced by the cost of living
the house and the car are the two most major purchases in the normal middle class american life, and as it's clear the cost of these things has outpaced minimum wage multifold, 3x for cars and 4x for houses; so where a boomer could have pretty much done a menial job his entire life and paid for a modest house and car and family, this is simply impossible now - a boomer janitor that was a gold autist would now be a millionaire if he just saved $500/yr worth of gold bullion in that era - not that it was possible to keep the gold standard when they forced the labor market and stock market changes into "infinite growth" and opened jobs to the women and the world
it's not even about getting rich, you can't even have the basic categories of living
to be "middle class" today, as it was in the 20th century, you would need to be making 150k/yr and that figure will be increasing, which is categorically excluding 90%-99% of the population forever because they do not have the skills and competency to achieve that level of income, and all of the lucky plays have ended (tech boom, crypto boom, etc) aside from maybe silver bullion
    it's over

I feel like this video is incomplete, we all feel the same way, consciously or not, we know things are getting worse fast. It's like he said, we can decide to address it or not, for me I wouldn't rely on just being friends with rich people, this collective pessimism is also not worth living in my opinion, so what am I left with? Working a 9/5? No, working on my betterment, building a 2023 useful skillset, producing something that is of value to me (and possibly to others) these things have more value than just money, I LIVE for these things because it fuels me and gives me hope, there is no guarantee but still, I know I used my ticket on this planet to the fullest and I cannot regret anything, if I could send a message to others is never lose hope, keep manifesting, plant the seeds you want to see around you. ❤

We are old school and retired now but let me just say if you are living to make lots of money, then you will never be satisfied or happy. It is the climb that you need to enjoy, the view from the top is nice but it's fleeting. Enjoy the tiny little things to be happy.

I tried on occasions to convince people of some of this phenomenon starting 20-30 years ago, and people hated it, and argued and probably still do, but it is WAY more relevant today, and you did well explaining it.😔 What's it like thinking this way for so long? You don't get caught up in the BS that's based on hot air and leads nowhere and ends up ruining some people's lives, particularly when they were overly committed and naive. Ultimately you need situational awareness; this doesn't happen if you narrowly focus on positive psychology, for example. You need a robust capacity to handle uncomfortable information without it causing you dissociation, etc.

Unfortunately, one of the things I’m glad about is that I no longer have to battle this out with my Boomer mother, as she passed away last year. Because her points of reference of getting a college degree, maybe a PhD, wearing a suit, getting into a decent company, and wearing a suit everyday, had been dying, since long before she did. For her however, and I KNOW other Gen X have gone through this, even through the recession which took me about 8 years to really climb out of, I was simply lazy, couldn’t see the bright side, wasn’t even applying for jobs and, ultimately to be discarded as a bum.
I earn an OK middle class poor living, as a creative in Pharma. I know I’m poor. I may not be as poor as someone earning half that, but with hyperinflation, I will never be rich. As I am inheriting my mother’s hoarded home, that will be the bill of what I have, for my 5 seconds of retirement, if that.
I do feel a teensy bit sorry for Boomers though. They’ve stuck to the whole “We we’re the best generation!” all time find out that they’re caught up in the same mess. Although I’m nearing 60, worse is that some of them still feel they’re the best generation ever - as long as they can snatch up the life of a Gen X or younger and rename them Long Term Care + Retirement Funding, just to find out that no one is working their 2+ jobs to fix someone else’s lack of due diligence.
The woman who lives beneath me? Early retired, now ill, now soon to be evicted and was hoping to latch onto me or another neighbor. Sorry. Certainly aren’t entitled to free, private healthcare on my back, when I’ll be unlikely to retire.

@@russellpeacock yep and some of them don’t mind telling you what nothing you are.
Even right now, when I go to work, I know that place doesn’t operate like it did, just 5 years ago. Back then, we were working OT, getting things done. Now, I come in and I sit and stare, maybe I answer one email and go home.
For the “high initiative” types who advise that you then ask for work, first, you’re alerting others that you have nothing to do - red flag. Second is that, there are a lot of others who they and their jobs are gone. The place is half empty. Third is that I’d have to be retrained to do that other work. Fourth is that those who are left may not be utterly asleep so, they aren’t that quick to train someone in what they do. But, if my mother were alive, no doubt, the whole market is my fault.
At your age, hate to say it, but you’ve got to stop listening to your parents. They may not be in the market, with their butts on the line everyday, seeing what you see, experiencing what you experience. Whatever you say is jibberish to them, because they feel they come with a lifetime of experience and they have no idea how fast things change or even degrade.
There are also people who have a completely different POV. There’s nothing I see in everyday life that is having an upward trajectory. But there are people who see nothing but up. Maybe their in a different tax bracket. But what they see, has nothing to do with my reality and the reality of those whom I know.
So, just be observant and realistic. Learn to see patterns and likely trajectories. Because, if you don’t, you’ll be living in someone else’s reality, without the backing to actually support it.

The market's direction can swiftly change, with indexes frequently transitioning from a bear market to a bull market precisely when the news is most negative and investor sentiment reaches its lowest point. I came across an article highlighting individuals who achieved profits of up to $150,000 during challenging market periods. Considering this, I am curious about the best stocks to purchase now or add to a watchlist.
