Welcome to the Illusive RSX channel, my name is Nick. I own 2 Rsx's a Silver '06 Base 5 speed manual and a Red '05 Type S. The silver rsx is my daily while the red rsx is my project. I was gifted my silver rsx for my birthday 3 years ago from my brother. My red rsx I just bought from Florida in July of 2022. We drove 20 hours from Wisconsin to Tampa, Florida and the 20 hours back with the car. With that being said I store my red rsx for the Wisconsin winter to preserve its mint Florida condition. This channel will mainly be about the red rsx but during winter I wont be driving it.

Glad you hear that you got rid of those dirtbike bars... I used to have a 2000 CBR 600 F4, now I currently am a proud owner of a 2006 CBR600RR I was staring at the handlebars before you even said anything about them.. just seems like it would compromise the handling... might want to check and see if the suspension is set up for you properly as well.. it will make it alot safer when going into the corners.. stay safe out there, and have fun!
Yes the bars made the handling way worse! Wayyyy better with the clip ons
people are idiots suggesting you shouldn't have bought it don't lower it its damaged etc. It's your decision and you know what things you need to be repaired/replaced and most important thing that you are happy with the purchase to practice/ride a 600cc it is awesome just ignore people stay safe and happy riding....
Appreciate the awesome comment man. I try not to let them bother me but they do have a lot of truth to their hate. It's a good first bike in my eyes but people seem to think there opinion matters sometimes🤷♂️. Take care man and if you got a bike ride safe🤟

I agree it's not in the best of shape. Personally it just needed the clip ons back on and a new fairings which are on now. Have been riding the bike for a few months now a few thousand miles and 0 problems

Oh that's what I meant to say was normally if you do a fork seal you do both. Your gonna have it apart anyway and chances are the other one needs or will need it soon as well. I'm sure wherever you take it they will recommend Changing both.
I'll be doing them myself as the shop charged me more than I thought it was worth.

Listen all the things you mentioned are typical for that year bike. The factory kickstand sucks but they sell a small plate that you can fix to the bottom of that kickstand. My key is bent so it only fits one way as well. Spray some chain lube in there. The tumblers inside are small and metal and they get rusty from the rain going through there.
Yes. After owning it for awhile it's just like every other honda. Great bike tho all around. Yes been lubing the chain every couple hundred miles

that bike was used for stunts, those bars are great for wheelies,
I can see why you would think that but personally I just think they swapped the bars over for a more upright ride. Although they may have used it for stunts you can still stunt with clip ons and a lot of people prefer it. Either way there switched back to clip ons🤷♂️
just came across this vid today as I may be picking one up myself, never really been a honda fan but the rr seems interesting to me. just strange someone would drill the triple tree clamps for a bar lol.@@illusiversx
I agree. The factory clip ons are amazing for handling and overall feel of the bike. I wouldn't advise anyone to go to the dirtbike bars
They have abs plastic fairings ebay for 220 ish, i just got some for my 06 and they are good enough.
Yes I agree actually just went a different route and will be wrapping a set of fairings I bought can't wait to show everyone!
I just sat on both the 2004 and 2009 and the seat on the 2009 is narrower allowing me to flat foot it. On the 2004 my right foot isn’t fully on the ground. I’m 5’10” by the way
That could be. Really like the looks of the 05+. I'm only 5'6" so a lot of sport bikes are mainly tippy towing for me.
honestly just buy a full fairing set they aren't that expensive, u will change the look of the bike completely

Those forks and handle bars are not original.?
Have you asked a knowledgeable mechanic if its safe.
You can asjust the damper and rebound on the rear aswell as the front but on your bars its not there 😮

Oem ignition without a factory cut key. I agree it's shitty but you get what you pay for and I got a pretty good deal for a good running 600rr
This bike did not just fall it slid along the ride really badly for the kick stand to be broken to that extent. You shouldn't of purchased this bike man it probably is going to cause you a lot of problems in the future
I will try to say this as nicely as possible.
1. I am highly aware the bike has been dropped before. For the price I paid I almost expected it to be dropped.
2. The kickstand would not have been worn like that because of a crash. The kickstand sits under the rear subframe and the rear subframe is virtually scratchless.
@@illusiversx dropped and skidding along the ground for a long distance is different, this thing has skidded
