Why are you all so upset about that "only one week will not give results"? They aren't trying to change their bodies in one week, they're showing how hard it is and seeing if they can cope.
The one thing you should care about is them starting on too high a level, which isn't good for the body, but this guy probably works out a lot normally, and we have to trust that the people working with the NFL players know what they're doing.

Hola! It's a 5:2 ratio for modified IF utilized for those doing intense activity, say like, training like an athlete. The difference between 0 calories and 200-500 calories from a fat-based fuel (not carb/sugar) in your energy and clarity is a huge difference when you're going straight into an intense workout. As is the difference beween 200-500 and say a full meal. Depending on the individual, the strategy is different. If he weren't being put into a crazy workout, I would have encouraged him to roll through fully fasted. Hope that clarifies the strategy with Josh for you. Also, I'm not a nutritionist, I'm a private chef that works my athletes' dieticians, doctors, trainers, etc to come up with a game plan.

Whilst I agree with the fact that from a fitness standpoint "Doing X for a week" videos are absolutely useless, I think in cases like these it's probably a question of budget... It can't be cheap to train in those facilities with all those resources, and I doubt that Buzzfeed would let them spend a lot of money on a video (unless it's a popular series where they're sure to profit).
