- In this video, we discuss our recent Rabies Druid build. There are variants out there, but this is the one we used on stream. At the end, I give an honest review of the class and its competitiveness in the current D2 meta.

What me and a friend came up with was he would have a sorc built to survive the rabies as much as possible, and i would purposefully bite him and he would teleport on everyone else infecting everyone in the game.

not a lot of people remember that back in the day, there was a glitch that allowed the Carrion Wind ring's level 21 poison creeper charges to count as 21 points into poison creeper for the purposes of synergies, adding ludicrous amounts of poison damage to rabies, over 750%. fun times.
I love these weird build videos.
I loved this game when it came out. To date this is still one of my favorite games of all time. I would play the heck out of it but, I worked too much at the time so I was never that good at it.
Now I'm retired and can't wait for the remaster. I'm getting old(er) now so I'll never be amazing but, I'm so excited to really dig into the game this time. So much fun. =)
Brings me back to the good ol days of running my Fury Wolf. It stomped far more than I expected in PVP and was always a blast. #BigWoof

Next build: shiver armor fortress sorc! I've made one ages ago (like 10+ years at least) and it was the most fun build I've ever had. Obviously it only worked vs melee characters and occasionally bowazones. Was so fun watching them die just by attacking you.
This is the build I ran for years PVP and PVE, just some minor changes. Well done man.

I ran a fury/rabies hybrid back in the day. 100% better than pure rabies. You have an instant delete for telestompers for the cost of a bit of life. Plus once you rabies someone they go super aggressive and opens up tons of fury opportunities. Still not high tier dueller by any means

A very fair point. We actually did stat Fury at one point, but were seeing similar results (we also did duel a lot of smiters haha). Getting telestomped by a wind druid still sucked, but it did work well against sorcs and certain casters. This was "version 2" of the build where we went pure rabies to see if it made a difference. Like you said, still not the highest of tiers for a dueler, for sure. And omg, I hope you don't mean Fire Claw..... smh lol

Pure 100fcr summoner with beast + sop/spirit and for mb eq hoto + stormshield.
Grizzly gets 2,5 attacks pr second on normal attack and a little slower on smite i think. He also have a 15frame ai delay after smite. Just tele - transform - shockwave and look at that 11k average dmg grizzly do its job(34k ar as well so hits palas etc smooth) also use volcano after shockwave swirl.
You should do one a fury druid. I've been playing fury in pvp for years it's my go to build.
@@datiger39 tbh it's just ok for pve it can definitely do all content it's just going to be slow and end games gear is kinda expensive but don't let that stop you
@@SitKid721 yea I seen a video of a dude doing it In not crazy gear in hell chaos so. Was using like rib cracker, blood fist, gores but also goblin would do until then, jalals, ravens etc nothing too crazy to get and you’ll eventually find it, life tap and amp charge wand are OP
Not everyone can afford Grief phase blade. The poor man's choice for a Rabies druid could be the Plague Bearer sword. It gives +5 to rabies.
Ebotdz then, low rolls can be found cheaply. I always liked it better than the Grief PB because using a Zerker Axe gives you a range of 3 rather than a range of 2 with the Phase Blade or Rune Sword. Makes a big difference when trying to landing a hit with Rabies on melee characters.
Huh... just found a 3 soc +3 rabies helm...

I didn't realize rabies worked that way... interesting. I love how the sanctuary aura works in Hell against PI's.

I think enigma is overall the better armor to use. Also I would suggest using Hurricane, as odd as it sounds stun and slowing your enemy helps a lot. I think fury and attack speed isn't how I would go. I think mixing more elemental druid with rabies is how I would go or add a pet.

@@Coooley I just built one of these, I'm actually using Bramble but the ammy choice I'm doing is Cats eye for the 20 frw and 25 Dex. For boots I like Ik and belt ik and Gloves I took out trang for.. ik haha I'm trying to fit trang back in but the 20 dex and 20 str gives me +40 to vit so that's hard to swap for me. Then with the belt giving 25 str that's 25 more vit. I also am running the fury and rabies combo. Its super flexible and can murder telle stompers. I picked up a 50 web and rolled lucky on a 46 Bramble. Grief isn't so gg though, the big help for me is that cats eye ammy. This helps with max block and that gives me more to vit. With all the dex and str from ik and 25 from cats eye. I was able to dump a massive amount of vit. I wish I had those gcs you have.

some mistakes: tomb reaver doesnt reach max frames with 2 ias jewels, you need 100 ias (2 shael for that). second thing is that ur stacking ar small charms which is useless when you attack with grief since it ignores target defense anyway and it wont be enough to hit high def enemies if you use wand.
Hey dude. If your using obs you can go into the settings and change some stuff to get your camera to be much smoother and look better. I know you said you got a new camera. My Logitech c920 looked essentially the same when I first got it. I can't find the CZcams video I watch to figure it out to link it to ya. Essentially you unchecked all boxes that are checked in the configure video, turn exposure down to like -5, gain up, white balance up a little.
But do people really want to see my un-blurred face? #NightmareFuel haha

Late to the party but wolf has different fhr than druid so the 99fhr isnt needed

The fhr bps are 20, 42, and 86. Only weapon ias affects attack speed on ss druids.

you didn't mention that str glitching the enigma will cause a lot more r/w desync on your build, you are using archon enigma so it's you probably have the glitch. *very* useful for these guys
btw you probably already know this, but a fun tactic with telestomping on a shapeshifter is to use unsummon to hold your namelock while you wait for the shapeshift timer to reset. it's kinda a crapshoot to telestomp with these chars but since it's a for fun build anyways you might catch an unsuspecting opponent doing this.

Im a hybrid though. Level 1 oak base and not full lycan(wanted the ar from werewolf instead).
Btw u should use a botd ba for range adder, same ias as ur grief pb. Best in slot for pure rabies is fury of crescent moon ba(60ias/91% ow) which gives 100% ow with gores which can work aside ur rabies.
You should try shaman next :)
i had a trang nec pvp, its pretty similar to this build, it was a 10/10 fun build, i absolutely melted ALL melee dueler, especially smiters, i remember i deliberately lvl my nec to lvl 79 and stopped there, just to humiliate all the lvl 90+ melee pkers, they all caled me a hacker lol, good times

@@Coooley i know right? the thing about trang poison nova nec is that they have to come to ME instead, and the -poison res is what makes this build truly shines
When they die to my fire golem or meteor when they have 1 life is the most satisfying thing ever, i built my nec according to this

However i stand no chance against ranged duelers, especially trapsin, i had to switch out my maras to a tele ammy to stand a chance, but then again the snail like fcr makes it nearly impossible to win, nearly, consider giving it a try, its cheap as fuck anyways and i guarantee you will have lots of fun

I love this build man. I use same just other helm and amulet. I think 30 frw druid circ is better and 10 frw blood amulet. I wounder why u didnt skill one to fury with grief? I wish i had of this 5frw charms from older versions :P. Nice video bro
Very great point about the FRW! I've been imbuing blood ammy's for that exact purpose lately (and for +2 zon/10frw ammy to test on Psn Bowa). Thanks, man!
@@Coooley magic flail 40ias 4 sox is nice to with 20/20 psn. It has nice range and u can reach good speed

Hello! This is my 3rd week of playing diablo 2 ever. Any advice for dealing with PKers on HC ladder? I died 2 on fire sorc and hammerdin any suggestions? Maybe I'm not supposed to max vigor and hydra first?
haha my advice for HC? Stay out of public games unless you plan on dueling lol. Although, that method of play has gotten a LOT better since they fixed TPPK.
I would like to add something, I played rabies for a long time too. The worst thing about the char is that there are absolutely impossible match ups like SMITERS and Javas. The good thing is there is a veeeery good match up and thats bowzons, I believe no char reks them as hard as the rabies druid if played right.
Yes! Zons are so weak to Rabies (or poison in general). Life total depletes fast. It's hard to catch some of the GG zons tho if you're good at WSG. Good point
What's really annoying in d2r is that rabies is no longer unblockable. Makes it so much worse ;(

Nah, we're just using Tomb Reaver for the incredible range it has (and IAS).
Would faster run walk on the skillers give this build more chase power or is the health given up worth the faster chase speed?

shapeshifting is ok for pvm but its too rigid for pvp ... even in pvm it gets clunky sometimes . Want to cast lifetap ? need to become human first , want to shoot arrows? need to become human first again ... and then you have no synergy with armageddon the only spell you actually can cast. Still nice video tho, if anyone can make this work its gonna be you xD.

Since it is around 20 years since i played D2 I would really need a hover over the skills when explaining them so I can see the stats and what they do. Now there was no hover so I just turned the video off since I could not fully understand any logic of why skills were picked.

Rabies druid was my first char in d2, it's too bad its only kinda good in pvp and only super strong for like the first 30-40 lvls in the game. Its funny cause it really is by far the best at low to mid lvls and then when other classes get to synergize their skills better they all beat it, even if its more of a fury druid than rabies one in high end gear its still bad at anything but pvp.
