    I LOVE travelling in India by train, it's super easy, affordable and the trains are comfy :) I once took a train from Trivandrum Kerala all the way to the border of Nepal and the whole journey took 3 days and nights :D
    Love from Kerala!

    Some things about Indian Rail even indian travellers doesn't know or prefer to ignore.
    In sleeper coaches (AC or Non AC) Travellers are allowed to sleep only during night from 10 pm to 6 or 8 am. During day time, lower berth travellers must allow upper berth travellers to sit, if they opt for. Lower berth traveller is allocated window side seating.
    From the indicators available on entry/ exit doors of AC coaches, one can know whether Toilets are occupied or not (when the occupant uses the latch in toilet, the indicator inside the coach turn red from green.
    Glad to see Flying Finneys got grounded by plesant train journey.

    Good nice things

  • @007Sanoop
    @007Sanoop Před 11 měsíci +1

    That's AC Two Tier, not Second Class.
    This is the order:👇
    1. First Class
    2. AC Two Tier
    3. AC Three Tier
    4. Sleeper (Non AC Three Tier)
    5. Chair Car
    6. Second Class
    The Second Class is unreserved coaches for all kind of people, we have to adjust, sometimes it will be terrible.
    The coaches except Second Class are reserved coaches upto First Class, you can choose as per your budget and comfort.

    Last I travelled in an Indian train was a few years ago. The only problem I have with Indian trains is the sight of unclean toilets and people crowding at the wash basin. Rest all things can be manged and the train journeys are a great way to travel in India.

      Absolutely - We found the trains we were travelling on were very clean (including the amenities - which was great) - we found hat train travel in India takes a little bit of 'getting your head around' but we loved it

    Train travel is great! This trip seemed to be particularly good value as you got food (which also looked quite nice) as well. Sadly long distance rail trips in Australia have become more expensive than ever as they're been marketed as 'once in a lifetime experiences' rather than a way to get between cities. Many years ago I travelled on the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Adelaide when there were still carriages with sit up seats that reclined like airplane seats. This was the cheap way to travel, but with budget airlines killing that market. Both the Indian Pacific and the Ghan just have the 'premium cabins experience' only, no cheap seats!

    Good that you're including clips of passengers hanging out of local trains. Western people love to see this and rooftop people journeying on trains. This will make them avoid India-a 3rd World country.

    • @theflyingfinneys
      @theflyingfinneys  Před rokem +2

      Hi, thanks for taking the time to comment. I think everyone has pre-conceived ideas of a country or culture that is based on and reinforced by popular media - I can immediately think of a few stereotypes related to Australia and Australians:) Our experience of India is diverse - yes it does include people hanging out of local trains but (eg in our Mumbai series) we also seek to show India as a beautiful and cosmopolitan country with huge shopping malls, great people and wonderful food - certainly not third world!! Best wishes G&T (The Flying Finneys)

      @@theflyingfinneystravel on such premium class train, you will have comfortable journey. Just hoping on local train isn’t comfortable for everyone . By the way that guy who mentioned about rooftop journey in India , isn’t possible because it’s unsafe Indian trains are electrified with 25,000 volts cable wire.
