    So I saw this video a few days ago after I replaced my swap bar links and still had a clunk. 2020 1500. I went to advanced auto for the bushings and decided why not for $30. As soon I cut the first one off I was like no shot this is it because it still felt really good. I greased the new one and installed it. Did other side just because and went for a ride. My god how long that’s been driving me crazy. It’s finally quiet again. Great video. Helped me a lot.

    So I have the “clunk” and took it to the dealer at 68k. They changed the sway bar end links and nothing changed. They told me it was good. Then we found the CV joints were failing, so they replaced those as well, nothing changed. So now I’m dealing with the “clunk” and i ran across this video, went and checked my sway bar myself and it was solid but I decided to buy these and try them anyways after watching your video. Very easy job, less that 20 minutes, and this thing is now extremely quiet and seems to be a more solid ride.
    If it wasn’t for your video I wouldn’t have even thought to look at this. Thanks so much

    Well, I ordered the exact bushings linked for my 2019 Ram Laramie that had the same rattle. Yup, sure enough, that's what it was. Thanks a ton for this video. As an FYI ... I also checked the stabilizer bar end links and the bolts as well as upper control arm bolts and all of that seemed fine.

    Ordered and received the same bushings you recommended. Will install soon. Hoping this rids me of the annoying sounds in my front end. Thanks for posting!
    Update: Changed my bushings out. Noise is still there. It was worth a shot. Good thing though, it only took about 10 minutes to change them.

      Did you ever fix it? I have a weird squeaky sort of crunchy sound as I go over bumps. Can’t tell if it’s strut or bushings

    • @arsenaultsgarage
      @arsenaultsgarage  Před rokem

      If you still have the noise I would reccommend the End links to be replaced. it can be one or the other. I did the sway bar links first didnt fix it so I did the bushings next. Factory Link are not to expensive I think I paid $70 CAD.

    1997 Dakota sway bar bushing boat won't tighten up only will snug start turning again how can I fix it

    • @arsenaultsgarage
      @arsenaultsgarage  Před rokem

      Hmm sound like the nut in the frame stripped or weld broke. IF its the frame that has the tread in it you could try to tap in new larger threads or use a t bolt in the frame rail. Not sure the how the Dakota is setup for the sway bar.
      Example of t bolts. www.framingtech.com/products/fasteners/t-bolts/ or a.co/d/7eaeQIt

      teamenergysuspension.com/product/energy-suspension-5-5160r-front-sway-bar-bushing-set-36mm/ It worked on my 2019 you can measure the sway bar if you are not sure with a caliper measuring tool to the diameter of the bar.

    I continue to have the same problem on my '19 4x4 Sport.
    I've replaced the original drop links with SuspensionMAXX and replaced sway bar bushing.
    Oddly...problem goes away above 45 degrees ambient temp or when truck is raised to OFF ROAD height.
    Thud noise is present when driving slow over uneven ground below 45 degrees or Entry and Aero height.
    Any suggestions??

      I will be doing an update on the RAM but so far so good all the noise is gone. USE the swaybar bushings I did Energy Suspension 5.5160R 36mm Front Sway Bar Bushing Set seems to work great.

    I’ve got a 2019 ram rebel after about 20,000 on it it made it knocking noise in the suspension only when it would get 40° and below in the winter. summertime. You would never hear it took it into the Dodge dealership five times always said they could not find what was causing the noise Finally convinced them to replace the swaybar links thinking that was it and it was not now it’s out of warranty and now I’m thinking it’s the bushings as well. Drives me effing crazy in the winter. If this fixes it, I’m going to be happy as heck and mad as hell the dealership could never figure it out.

      My 2019 rebel has been clunking on the left front for well over a year. It’s definitely worse when it gets cold out. Dealer replaced end links. Didn’t help. Put a whole new sway bar on and that didn’t help either. I tried this bushing swap and it didn’t help. I’ve checked torque on upper and lower control arms and that didn’t help. It’s driving me crazy 😢

    Mine is now suddenly making a squeaking noise when turning right, and slowing downing to a complete stop. Up and down if you bounce on the front in you can hear that noise I haven’t looked at it yet seems to be really noticeable around 20mph or less
    Let me know your thoughts thanks I’m kind of a do it yourself type, shots too e pensive these days

    • @arsenaultsgarage
      @arsenaultsgarage  Před 5 měsíci

      IS this after you installed the bushings? If so I would add more grease to the bushings. Also against the frame to bushing. Poly bushings if not greased will squeak.

    Update on my 2019 ram rebel, making a knocking noise when it gets below 45° and after taking it into the dealership five times and they couldn’t figure it out it was the bushings. They are very easy to replace in if you are not mechanically inclined and cheap, wish I would’ve did it years ago

      You can order more grease. But I have gone through winter with my truck and now into a hot summer no noise at all. Did you grease both sides?? Bar side and bracket side I did might be the difference. 36mm Sway Bar thickness.

      My first thought would be take a look at the rubber bushings and lube them up with a silcone based lube. But could be a totally different thing. Can you make it squeak by rocking the truck back and forth by hand?

    Bushings fixed clunk on my 2011 “classic” -makes me feel better seeing the rusted oil pan on your2019😒-not looking forward to that job I have to drop my front diff apparently….
    edit to add- not sure about new rams but there are different diameter sway bars on the 09-20s - I bought wrong size bushings at first, but at least it’s a cheap easy job! Almost at 170k so I’m slowly replacing most of the front end parts at this point🤷‍♂️

      I have a 2011 and I hit a pothole and since then & I hear a sound similar to his, but that sound happens when in uneven roads but I hear the sound by the top of the dashboard passenger side… I was wondering if that’s the same sound yours had? I got it aligned and checked twice for any damage in any of the links connected with the wheel everything is good they tell me, but I’m wondering it could be that. Thank you.

    • @mertonallowicious
      @mertonallowicious Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@William76850 check the sway bar end link bushings, where it connects at the ends there should be two samwiching on each side I needed to replace all those as well. If you slammed it on one pothole make sure you didn’t blow the shock out in your strut, and that the three bolts on the top that hold shock/strut aren’t loose. Lastly try to check lower control arm bushing and ball joints, tie rod ends as any of them could produce clunk if worn out
