    Whoo. Diasporan Ghanaian here.
    This guy *NAILED* the critical thinking gap in Ghana and the rank failure of accountability in national institutions. My face was like this😮 as he walked us through catastrophic failures, just dropping gems. He never lied once.
    The lack of sharpness, agency, peer review, inadequate training, acceptance of poor performance standards and ultimately the base lack of accountability. And it all stems from undue deference. It has choked the integrity and commonsense from citizenry.
    I've known Ghanaians die of an asthma attack because there were no nebulising drugs in the hospital pharmacy.
    Die from car accident because of pot holes and poor road maintenance and no ambulance. People who had scholarship money stolen, I've experienced police with no access to vehicles in an emergency situation. All these are known issues. People KNEW before and did nothing.
    You can survive in Ghana, as long as your destiny is in your own hands. If you need any help from any institution? God help you. You better have money.
    Ghanaians ALL know this to be the case and all they do is talk talk talk.
    Problems happen elsewhere too, the difference is the lack of personal and institutional accountability afterwards.

      I share many of your views here but I have two questions: exactly what do you mean by "critical thinking gap in Ghana"? Also, what should Ghanaians be doing about the known problems that they are not doing beside "talk, talk, talk"?

    • @TheChariot99
      @TheChariot99 Před 25 dny

      @@py20 Ghanaians lack critical thinking. The ones that have thinking skills are the traveled ones. How can they acquire thinking skills? CONSISTENT TRAINING! More practical than theory. Ghanaians go to schools reading about a manual and never operating the machine. To be honest, the country is do damn slow minded that it will take some time to get there. No offence, just being honest.

      Kwesi, I think the opportunities in Ghana are too good to miss. The chance for you to secure a future for yourself, to own and build something of value - you have to start something here.
      In Europe/US, it has all been done and realistically your only hope is to work for someone and never get the true value of your labour and ideas, or to reshape what already exists.
      In Ghana, what you work for is YOURS. Use what you have learned to your benefit. Truly, if you can avoid institutions the world is your oyster. (And yes,I know that is a big 'IF'!)
      I don't know you but I would implore you to at least secure some land, or begin thinking of a plan.

    I live in Ghana. It’s one of the most unserious countries I’ve ever seen and trust me I’ve traveled A LOT. And don’t let anyone fool you, there’s work out there but the youth just don’t wanna do it cause the cultures glorifies working in an office making less than other jobs that pay higher. If you want to be frustrated, move to Ghana. 😂 THERE’S NO STREET LIGHTS IN SOME MAJOR ROADS! The Imigration officers ALWAYS beg for money. Idk man and yes the dating there it’s like women just date for men to buy them things. Women will beg you for money before even getting to know them. Customer service is horrendous cause business owners feel like they’re doing you the customer a favour 😂
    The hospitals don’t know what they’re doing, infact most places don’t know what they’re doing fully 😂 most things just seem like a joke and no one is serious. Let me not start with the lack of critical thinking

      WORD IS CHEAP! LETS ANALYZE THE STATEMENT: I DONT THINK YOUR GUEST, WHO THINKS HE HAS CRITICALLY THOUGHT ABOUT WHY GHANAIANS BEHAVE THE WAY THEY DO . HAS HE CRITICALLY THOUGHT THROUGH HIS STATEMENT BEFORE VOICING IT OUT. COULD IT BE THAT ITS A CULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTALIST TRAIT - I.e THE WAY THINGS ARE DONE??? . I HAVE WITHIN THE GHANAIAN ENVIRONMENT THAN A BLACK BRITISH OR BLACK AMERICAN IS WITHIN THE WESTERN ENVIRONMENT. AND THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR - AFRICAN BREDS FARES WELL AND PROSPER IN WESTERN ENVIRONMENT THAN UK OR US BLACK PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ECONOMIC LADDER FOR A VERY LONG TIME. SO THE QUESTION IS IF WE BLACKS FROM THE WEST THINK WE ARE CRITICAL THINKERS , HOW COME WE ARE STILL AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LADDER IN THE WEST EVEN IF WE SEE OURSELVES AS CRITICAL THINKERS????
