The Capcom vs SNK rivalry is over and Street Fighter 6 season 2 is further proving that notion. What a time to be alive, great video. I can see why people that are unaware of the history between these two companies are feeling a kinda way about seeing Mai & Terry. This is a culmination of alot of events you laid out coming to this point and time, and hopefully it leads to a csv3. A CVS3 is the #1 pick on my fighting game wish list.
As someone who grew up with CVS2 EO on gamecube this was a game come true. I was in a daze for the next day and a half lmao

SNK characters in a CAPCOM game feels like daddy is back from the store with the milk.
SNK and CAPCOM were feeding staff to each other for decades, and a lot of great games by one company had people who worked for the other at some point, including nowadays.
Including Takashi Nishiyama back in the day, who created Street Fighter and Fatal Fury. Both those games actually feel like they belong to each other's universe. Despite a lot of business and creative differences.
That's why it felt so wholesome to those who really liked this announcement.
Capcom vs snk 3 will eventually happen. Terry & Mai appearing in Street Fighter 6, Terry, Ken & Ryu appearing in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and finally Akuma & Geese appearing in Tekken 7

@@Lupo32 My God I love both games, Capcom needs to give us an HD update collection of both CVS and CVS 2 along with SVC CHAOS. I got all 3 games on my ps2 and still play them from time to time my man.
I believe the guest characters decreases the chance of a true crossover like CVS 3. Well, at least anytime soon. Not while SF6 and Garou are relevant anyway.

is would be nice if snk did the same with capcom so a svc chaos 2 could be made one day...... snk now has more funding but they aren't as big as capcom ,bamco, marvel comics ,dc comics, disney , warner bros ..... people all over the world know those name brands .... snk aint that big or well known.
People who aren't happy with Terry and Mai being DLC need to watch this.

Ryo from KOF is ryu clone originally from Art of fighting series.
Same guy that directed street fighter 1 / 1987 left capcom for snk and went on to make aof and fatal fury .... even worked on some kof games and founded his own company DIMPS !
So basically street fighter and final fight are like step or half siblings

@@Lupo32 Hell yeah buddy I played them back on da kick ass ps2, Bro you gotta play this masterpiece totally under da radar gem called Garouden breakblow fist or twist, dude its old asf but still one of da best fighting games ever. Oh yeah check out the manga and anime too. The game even has secret boss character playable to unlock from Baki Da Grappler series called Yujiro Hanma. At first I thought this game was trash and just a button mash, But I was seriously refuted by the tug of war mechanic. My God the ko's and x-ray damage are brutal and realistic.
COTW with a character from SF6 or SF in general would be sick.

This is genuinely a great/weld constructed video. I can't say this enough but everything you've said is entirely true and I understand people's issues with the roster picks.
I see the grandeur picture and what is potentially possible that can't come from this. I always love Terry from his original games and his appearances in King of fighters. I'm not genuinely going to take the steps to relearn Street Fighter 6 and this for preparation for Terry.
What's Terry's new game coming out soon I'm already in a super great mood and it's great to finally see the two companies I love crossover again.

Tengo 40 años y desde mis inicios he jugado TODOS los SF , FF , KOF , SAMSHO, etc. Y desde niño amé SNK en primer lugar y luego Capcom. Verlos nuevamente compartiendo sus personajes me ilusiona muchísimo. Además en el EVO , SNK va a mostrar DLC especial. 😍
They should bring in Ryu or Ken in City of wolves, it kinda makes sense seeing older version of these guys meeting each other, they should make it canon like how Akuma was integrated in Tekken lore, SF6 and CoW seems to compliment each other in the same way that Third Strike and Garou did back in the day.

.... ny main gripe w season 2 was mostly due to the choice to bring bison back the first chance they could... Secondly, it was the fact that they chose terry AGAIN .... kyo , iori, and several others could have been used IMO

Listen most of the people complaining weren't even old enough when Capcom vs SNK 1 or 2 came out. This is major and expect a team Capcom for KOFXV

I mean the rivalry's been over since SNK filed for bankruptcy a few times, and didn't have the means to fight back against Capcom....
CvS2 was my first REAL tournament game, and still the game I love the most. I'm thrilled that this will almost certainly mean a CvS2 re-release (I'm expecting it to be announced alongside Terry's release.. which HAS to be announced at Evo right?), and probably a CvS3.
If nothing else, SURELY Luke will be in CotW.. and probably Jamie too (SNK will almost certainly do better with Jamie in their world than Capcom has done for him).
Mostly though, as much as I've wanted a CvS2 re-release over the years, I'm actually thrilled that we never got one until now. I don't think the generation of SF4 and SF5 players really would have been ready for CvS2. SF4 and SF5 were spiritual successors to SF2 IMO. Pretty basic games from a system perspective.
From the first time I played SF6 in the beta, it stood out to me as another game in a different line. CvS2 always felt like Street Fighter Alpha 4 to me.. and SF6 is another in the Alpha line.. Street Fighter games with STRONG system mechanics that create super varied play. Games in which the system elements often feel more important than the characters' core movesets.
Now that a very large player base has felt what it's like to play a game like that, I think a CvS2 re-release, or an eventual CvS3 will be much more palatable for those players. 48 characters and 6 grooves with running, rolling, hopping, JD'ing, etc.. feels like a HUGE departure from SF4/5's relatively stifled gameplay. After SF6 thought.. it feels way more in line with what people are used to and can grasp.

No... There's no end to the rivalry until one of them falls. They will always be rivals, they're just friendlier and business partners
you have to make sure most fans are satisfied before you start adding in guests.....MK suffers from this too.......i think guests should be introduced near the end of the games lifecycle, that way everyone will be happy and it will also rejuvenate interest in the game.......although me personally i eat this sh** up :)
seems like people at SNK were fools they let capcom use their characters without getting profit and when they had to use capcom characters instead of full game they made some child games
To be honest what Arcadia did they wasn't wrong about Street Fighter vs King Of Fighter because Capcom vs SNK is not a real capcom vs snk most of the roster are just street fighters you have less non street fighter character like maki, morrigan and kyosuke
By SNK side most of the roster are KOF altrought KOF is already a crossover fighter from SNK ips.

If there is ever going to be a "Capcom vs SNK 3" or "SVC2," I will never Buy it until they add Characters from the "Devil May Cry" series like Dante, Vergil and Nero in the Base Roster, then we got ourselves a Deal,
Because think about it, the previous Capcom and SNK Crossover games like CVS 1, 2 and SVC have 90% Street Fighter Characters in both Rosters instead of having other Variety of Classic Capcom I.P.s like DMC (like I mentioned before), Resident Evil, Viewtiful Joe, Dead Rising (mostly Frank West) and Onimusha have Characters that got Potential to Fit right at Home to be Playable Fighters in a Capcom vs SNK/SVC Fighting Game.
At the time kof and street fighter were the 2 biggest 2-D games .... some say that in concept dante was going to be in svc chaos but they felt that Dimitri from darkstalkers would be quicker and easier to make .... on the opposite end in cvs 2 capcom wanted to use linn kurosawa but didnt have the rights so they went with maki from final fight 2 !
Dante was originally going to be in SvC: Chaos.
