I’ll share w folks too. We use a VPN , Signal , depending on where we are.
I recall Facebook COULD have maintained privacy for only 11$ a month or something years ago.

Ublock origin is also a "solution", since it blocks trackers. It's even open source, so you can trust it's secure.
being open source doesn't mean it's secure automatically... but it's a good extension indeed

Hi Sridhar, I really hope you are who you say your are, cause we need more then a protection but a way to be able to stop this tracking BS from going in to our business.
Can you really trust anyone though....?
I've said it before and will say it again, the new protection will be an information bomb to render your profile rubbish, in the mean time actively avoid anything advertised to you that you can find else where, hence your not paying for the adds and actively rendering the adds less than useless.

Out of interest, my android phone updates itself even though I am refusing update notices daily.
So obviously our knowledge abd consent is irrelevant to them.
My apps update themselves even though I've switched off permissions.
Sometimes I find my permissions have been switched on, by themselves apparently.

In the mean while your CZcams video has over 100 trackers the Brave browser blocked the web browser of choice for me and yes finger printing is blocked also. No ads to watch on CZcams either. Brave is a free download.

Interestingly, if you use a lesser-known browser like TOR or Avast in the interests of privacy, won't that make your fingerprint MORE unique and trackable ?
Wait, so how does Neeva work and what do you do? I apologise I'm not too tech savvy, I installed the browser extension to Chrome. How do I use it or do I have to do anything? There aren't any real instructions.

Been using this for years. Excellent tool. I use it in conjunction with a couple of other tracker/blockers.
Start Page is another search engine that doesn't track what you search for and no ads. It's been around for years.
I've used Startpage (seems there was something I didn't like about it when it came to saving articles).
Startpage blocks common vpn connections as well. When I'm using Nordvpn I have to cycle through servers until I find one they haven't blocked. Pain
my concern is that when never gets a huge following and the tech companies see this, how big a cheque will it take for Neeva to give them a backdoor.

I found out that Banks are using browser fingerprinting to determine if you are a known customer instead of using cookies like they used to do. Chances Banks don't use the key for MFA, this became a real pain after I implemented some anti browsing fingerprinting technology.
Face it , privacy is a thing of the past. Along with trust.
Ummm. While you did answer the question how search engines like Neeva make money, I’m wondering how sustainable that business model would be before Neeva starts making deals with Google or Microsoft to sell your data.
If Neeva has it, Google likely has your data as well. Gewgle is crawling, everywhere.
Every time I see one of these non tracking apps, I think “which agency paid for this” …
There is no data to sell since it doesn't collect any since it doesn't run ads. Also check out who the founders are of the company and that should give you an idea of where the company is going.

To be honest I've gotten so cynical at this point that while I may be blocking other trackers, how do I know I'm just not handing all the tracking over to Disconnect for them to turn around and sell to the highest bidder?
Because Disconnect is not growing like the corrupt alphabets. I used Disconnect VPN for years until they started blocking their servers by labeling them as spam. Google hates them as they're former Google employees. They were banned from the Google play store for years when they first came out with their VPN app. If we don't support companies like Disconnect then they'll go the way of Neeva. Bought up.

Just use Brave it's ez it can block fingerprint, trackers and a lot of other things
I believe Brave randomizes the fingerprint that each website sees so that it is different.
Hi, this is Sean, a software engineer at Neeva. In general, the difference between Brave and us is that our company is completely aligned with your incentives. The point of Neeva is to provide you with the best experience, and that means not showing ads, not selling your data...etc. Brave will still show you (their own) ads (which also hurts content creators since they are not getting paid). The thing is, tracking makes ads more effective and companies more money. So between a company that doesn't show ads and a company that does, which one would you trust more?
@@seantao1182 So the only source of revenue for Neeva is the paid version of the product. So you block ads in search results but ads on CZcams are ok because that makes money for Google and in turn is how creators get paid. It seems that the Premium accounts are US only is that correct?
@@seantao1182 actually Brave blocks ads and don't sell your data or spy on you. Brave has their own ads that show as a notification and you can decide if you want to see them so that means that you can still support your creators if you want without slowing down websites (you can also set the max number of ads you can see in a hour) . Also you can send anonymous data and you can decide if you want to send it or not
And it's all completely free

In Sacramento County there are numerous types of cameras at intersections. Some small, some medium sized, and some mega sized. Plus, there are the red-light, and California-stop left-turn cameras. What do each of these cameras do?

why do you think? at least now there is saved, consistent video evidence to use as proof in court instead of having to rely on dirty cops, witnesses aren't always reliable, a jury that didn't pay attention, a majority of the people involved in a case can be easily manipulated or bought out of telling the truth, etc. which saves everyone involved a ridiculous amount of time and money, especially when so many cases are constantly getting postponed, dropped or mistrials just because one of the only witnesses went and changed their story.
Traffic citations are a top money maker and camera's bring in more than cops ever could.
True you can be tracked by software, but did you know you can be tracked when it comes to your pc hardware too, simple example, your hdd/ssd's got there own serial number that can be snuffed out, there are ways though to change the serial numbers yourself to false ones.

Yes, Firefox has their extension too. However, the extension requires access to _everything_ so how much progress would I be making installing that extension?
I just run a script blocker, ad blocker, pop up blocker, and sometimes a tracker blocker as well although the script blocker + ad blocker combo kinda already does that if I leave unnecessary scripts on a website off. Firefox add-ons are a beautiful thing, usually

As you can see Neeva is more than an ad Blocker. Do a Google search and then do a Neeva search and see what I mean. (it's free)

I want to know how to detect an RFID scanner when in a public place. I was just hit in Quartzite AZ somewhere when I was out on Xmas Eve checking out some shops. My bank caught it when someone was trying really hard Xmas day to buy stuff from a charity and Starbucks gift cards. I know it happened in one of 5 places but don't know if it was someone working there or someone pretending to be a customer with a Reader that got close to me. The Card they got I never use in person just for paying for my cell bill. When I looked up RFID scanner detector all I could find was a very expensive and large Oscilloscope. There has to be an easier way to scan for these things ?! I wish I had the resources to build something simple I could carry around the size of a Mobile Phone that would alert the user of a Scanner nearby. Or a Jammer of the FCC would allow such a device? It would help find people doing this. Like a Hidden Camera detector or a Microphone BUG detector. I was fortunate that my Bank caught it asap and I didn't lose any $$$ on Xmas day . 👍

Long ago I resigned myself there is no such thing as privacy (book: 1984) does not exist. As time goes by more people are watching more people (and machines). I'm old enough not to care anymore and I have nothing to hide anyway.

They may have my browser fingerprint, but can they connect it to my real identity? When I don't want to be tracked, I use a seperate browser with a VPN, and I'm not logged in anywhere in the browser.
How do I get that for a Firefox extension??
I don't know how to set the Desktop folder to be a local folder like it was in pre-11 versions of Windows. Is this even possible in Windows 11? Or does Microsoft now just force everyone to have their Desktop folder on OneDrive, with no settings to change this? Please advise. Thank you.
