Hey, Marcus... Agree with you on Tale of Rose, but I think Princess Royal will give The Double a run for its money this week. I've seen the first 5 episodes, and while I don't usually like palace intrigues, the unusual couple dynamic is keeping it interesting.

I'm estatic for As Beautiful As You to air!! I've seen all the promotional releases and I gotta say it's taken me by surprise. I thought some stuff they would censor from the novel, but it seems they have adapted it. Seven and XK's onscreen chemistry seems so sizzling it's going to burn in to flames. There will be a fan meeting on July 4th so I hope it'll be live stream so intl fans can see, and special bonus scenes will be released today form hi6, so I'm excited for that too!

Just finished LYF s1 and gave it an 8/10. Tomorrow I’ll start Princess Royal. Still watching Jade’s Fateful Love (which ends next week) and Hot-Blooded (think that also ends somewhere next week). Still trying to keep my dramas at max 3 if I can.
I'm watching "follow my heart" and "jade's fateful love." I haven't found another drama that can catch my attention yet. I hope a wuxia drops soon.

Hi Marcus batteries charged finished The Tale of Rose it was as very good Crystal Liu was brilliant in it, the story line and how the character she played handled it was very heart warming… nice comments from Lin Yi … now to finish The Double catch a few of these especially Lady Liberty with Mark Chao hopefully I will enjoy better than The Heart … As beautiful as you looks interesting .. The long wait is over for the drama series of 7 Tan.I am really happy that I can watch her drama. I am just roaming around with the other drama series of IQIYI and youko. But i cannot felt the emotions of every actress/actors portraying their roles!

So many dramas, so little time. I don't like watching a drama that hasn't ended by the time I get to a certain episode and therefore have to wait for more to post. Soooo, there are several that I would like to start but there aren't enough episodes yet. Another thing, there are far too many costume dramas at this time and not enough modern dramas to switch back and forth with. Well, I am enjoying "The Double" very much and think "Limited 72 Hours of Love" sounds good to switch with. Wish I could watch "Link Click", but it's not in Eng subs.
I'm really hoping Xu Kai does better in "As Beautiful as You" than he did in "Best Choice Ever". He started out great but then he faded into a pitiful henpecked boyfriend and literally disappeared in the latter part of the drama. But I keep hoping that Xu Kai will dig in deep with his characters and choose better dramas for himself.
That was such a cute story about Lin Yi meeting Crystal Liu. Stars geek out too when meeting another star. ha Speaking of his role. It wasn't long enough and then stopped, leaving an open ending....which I personally hate. But it did give us hopes of Rose coming back a year later to meet He Xi at the airport. heheh
I agree with the two dramas both remaining at the top of the list.

Maybe because it's just a few episodes out but I am not very thrilled with The Princess Royal, which is a bit of a let down. I kinda hate Angel Zhao's character. How are you finding out who actually poisoned and killed you and still pine for that man? Also, you're not even sorry you had someone wrongly killed because you trusted the snake more? So stupid!

Agree 100%. And how about her surprise at finding out her crush hated her. Your dad slaughtered his entire family, and you thought it was a “favor” that you let him live as a eunuch serving you tea and sweets? And her response was “but I saved him.” Omg…just dumb and entitled on so many levels.

She's more interested in the politics of her brother's succession than either of the men right now....

Chinese dramas nowadays are mostly on re-birth, reincarnation, and sci-fi in historical if that is the right term. They're nice and beautiful but they're becoming more on. I like the action scenes though.

Looks like Lady Liberty is another replica of Tale of Rose since the storyline sounds similar abt the FL living life on her own terms. Only difference is she has one suitor & not the 3 that Rose had. Mark Chao probably acts as he did in Ideal City then ?
They always use the same story, scenes , kissing in many dramas so annoying. That's why I stop watching some dramas cuz make me feel that already watch it 😅
El drama princesa real está muy bueno el guión llama querer verlo, zhang linghe también está bien de protagonista pero zhao jimai le falta mucho sus expresiones para cada detalle del drama como que no encaja y un poco floja su actuación, siento que le quedo grande el ser protagonista de este drama, igual lo estoy viendo porque como dije la trama y los demás actores si están bien.
The Princess Royal was such a disappointment. It looked witty and funny in the trailer, but the direction and editing of the drama doesn’t match the tone of the previews. Scenes that promised to be lighthearted and amusing are instead vindictive, petty, and morose. It’s like the director doesn’t know how to direct anything other than dark dramas and brought that tone to mismatch with the intent of the series. The FL is brat, entitled, and not too bright. The ML is obtusely kind and devoted to her, which only makes her look even worse. And the big conflict involving the emperor lacks logic and seems more just a plot vehicle. So mad because I was looking forward to this for a couple months now. What a letdown.

I've been asking here and there but still can't get answer.. i don't understand why ML that devoted to her yet hiding at the same time? Sometimes he looks really care about her but sometimes he looks so ready to leave.. i'm so confused
@@vanada116 They really did get married originally as a political / arranged marriage, but it appears they developed feelings for each other at some point. However, once people started to manipulate their interactions, they lost trust in each other and the emotions died. But it's also obvious that each does still feel a certain amount of habitual caring for the ex, as in "I wish him/her well" along with a certain amount of guilt for their previous bad behaviour. Also, their pragmatic side is telling them they are still each other's best bet for getting out of the situation alive. So he's definitely ready to leave, but circumstances are pushing him her way. Basically a lot of what looks like devotion to her in the first few episodes is really just him being self-serving and feeling guilty.
They added lightness and humor to the drama. The original it was based on is actually quite dark, full of hidden plots and schemes, heavy on politics and surprised twists. For me, Angel Zhao did a solid job as the princess, and Zhang Ling He's acting had improved. However, I could still feel the awkward acting of some actors/actresses (on both main and support cast). When I watched the drama, I could tell "yes, they are acting out the scenes" instead of the characters they were supposed to be. It's a shame because the drama has really potential script, beautiful costumes and nice cinematography; but because the limit in acting skills, it become lackluster, even in important scenes.
Happy that there is a new luo jin drama. I just can't stand the female judge. Will skip her scenes and watch luo jin.
Princess royal is watchable except the first 20min of the ep1 where they potrayed the older selves of their characters. It looks ridiculous when "young" actors trying to do characters 10-20yrs older than their qctual age than matured actors doing younger characters. Also, I can't stand zlh's beard and mustache with red painted lips 🤦♀️
Princess Royal is slow as all hell. And the leads although likeable have no chemistry.
so far I am enjoying princess royal. At least both male and female lead are eye candy. I can’t stand male/female lead looking ordinary… very disappointed with Xu Kai new drama as seven tan looks is rather a disappointment… china has plenty of female actress who has looks and talented so I cannot compromised on looks… watching plain looking actor/actress is a waste of my time.. I might as well go look at my husband😂
ok, then don't watch. Seven's drama has been annual top 1 with Go Ahead and Road to Home on Hunan. Her dramas are known to have good ratings. I do agree there are plenty of girls that are pretty, but not many have decent or great acting.
Yes not watching, just sad coz I like Xu Kai.. his last 2 drama with yangzi and yang mi was gd.. compatible ..
