As Klopp said, "when would this happen?". Top 6 teams literally don't have the time, particularly in the middle of a season (which is a snowy, windy, wet Christmas, with enough Boxing Day matches already) when an All Star game would happen, like American sports. Or are we taking time away from a team's limited off-season when they're usually traveling to the US/Australia/China to make $$$?
    FA Cup
    Carabao Cup
    Champions League / Europa League
    Euros
    World Cup Qualifiers
    Africa Cup of Nations
    etc...
And for the bottom teams, would they get representation? Who gets the TV money?
I think having a FootballAid match sort of thing with current players from the Premier League, is an interesting idea, but ... every manager would hate it. Does Pep want De Bruyne running more kms? No. Does Klopp want Salah possibly getting hurt in a nothing match? No.

    A) An all-star game would be extremely hard to fit in an already congested calendar. It's not the same as the nba/nfl where they have long off-seasons. Such an idea will run these players to the ground before we know it.
    B) An all-star game would basically be a testimonial. It would be played at that lethargic pace. Nobody would want to get hurt. Nobody would care who won. From an entertainment perspective, it's a terrible look.
    C) Trying to apply the standards of American sport to european competitions suggests of a lack of cultural awareness/respect from him for the game in this country. His idea completely transcends football rivalries which in itself goes against the spirit of European football - something Americans unfortunately don't understand. With the exception of the WC, the Euros, Copa America, who on earth would want to watch Liverpool players alongside United players, Arsenal players alongside Tottenham players? Any true football fan would not want that in the slightest.
    D) Let's get this straight. This is just blatant greed by an owner disguised as innovative thinking. I'm sure there's a general consensus among the american community that all-star games for the likes of the NFL, NHL and NBA are the biggest waste of time that serve zero purpose whatsoever other than a blatant money grab.

I wouldn't be against it. But clearly Boehly hasn't thought the whole thing through. When the season ends players normally have some international duty to get to. That's I'm addition to the 3 or 4 breaks during the season. Players need resting periods to take time off, go on holiday. If something could be worked out whenever it might be then I'd watch a PL All star game but now it doesn't seem realistic. Besides if that happens, fans who pay money to attend the game will want to see some effort by the players and depending on when it is and players' concerns about potentially getting injured in an exhibition game we may not see proper effort by the players

If you want to eliminate competition and create a disparity in the league by ensuring rich clubs are at the top while small spending/lesser rich clubs are “relegated”.
If you want that, then I can see why you love pro/rel model.
Otherwise, NFL/NBA model works because Small market teams like Milwaukee & Cleveland won a championship.
If there is pro/rel in the NBA & NFL, you will never see small teams winning championships because rich teams can simply just spend and buy out all the talents while loaning out their young players or rubbish players.

I am an American and I LOVE Premier League. I have also been a Chelsea fan for some time. I think Todd Boehly doesn't know anything about soccer, he only eats, sleeps and dreams of "dollar signs". Money! He doesn't understand the beauty of the game and apparently, who attended Chelsea Academy. It's embarrassing and I fear that before the season is over, Chelsea will be at the bottom of the PL. I hope I am wrong about this.

As bad as Todd Boehly is, is still way less bad than Gary Neville's sugar daddy Peter Lim of Meriton infamy.

Have you heard of the show « Ted Lasso »?
Then Todd Boehly is the next level.

I would love to see their face after another CL final, really greedy people. They know everything right
