    Hello Mr! I really like your work and appreciate it. I ordered this panel and just to make sure - is the panel of the new msi mpg 341CQPX the same as this model? I don't need the extra 65 hz or power delivery of the USB type c :)

    • @tftcentral
      @tftcentral  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It’s a different, newer panel on the MPG model which is why it has a higher refresh rate. There’s no change to the pixel shape though so that’s the same as the older 175Hz panel used in this screen. Other differences are still to be confirmed but visually there doesn’t appear to be anything else beyond the higher refresh rate

    I don't know if you intentional left it out or actually missed it, but with HDR active you can change the color profile. I personally find the Display P3 mode the most pleasing to my eyes, but of course I don't know how acurate that is.
    Unforturnately the OSD is not able to memorize different color settings for different modes, as in sRGB for SDR and Display P3 for HDR. You'd have to change it manually every time. Since I use the monitor mostly for gaming and mostly with HDR (especially nowadays where RTX HDR is available for games that don't support it natively) I left it at Display P3 in general.
    But I'd like to hear your opinion why the sRGB mode is recommended for HDR. Thanks in advance.
    PS: On second thought...I could just stick with the "User" mode in HDR, too. Should take everything I set up before over to HDR anyways. And I just had a quick glance, looks great. :)

    • @tftcentral
      @tftcentral  Před měsícem +1

      Yes user mode would operate with the full native gamut in both modes. At the moment you’re right that the same mode applies to both SDR and HDR and so it’s easier to stick with a single mode. If MSI fix that via a FW update later on, you could maybe consider using sRGB then for SDR, but using the User mode is fine too

      @@tftcentral Yes and thanks to your video I discovered that after using the monitor since March. So thank you. ^^
      Regarding future firmware updates...I can't exactly explain why, but I don't expect any for this model. Last one is from February 2024 and feature-wise this gen1 panel is probably fixed and runs as it should. I don't expect them to add any features.

    Hi @tftcentral - I seem to be having some issue with this monitor that I can’t find an answer to. When using hdmi 2.1 and attempting to play games in “full screen”, I’m noticing that the game loads in a smaller window. This problem doesn’t appear in “borderless full screen” and doesn’t appear on other ultrawide dive tested. I’ve made sure that the monitor is set to “pc” mode and have made sure that NVCP is set to “no scaling”. Do you have any feedback on this?

    Hello. I really want to know about the input lag but there is no such article or video on the Internet and unfortunately there is no reviewer from you (in my opinion, the most authoritative in the field of monitors) either. In general, my question is: It is known that CRT monitors have a minimum input lag, unlike other matrices, and thanks to it, the input lag is measured. But we also know that the input lag is directly affected by the refresh rate and technical characteristics of the computer. I also want to find out how much the input lag of CRT monitors changes when using adapters, because video cards with a direct port for vga have not been produced for a long time, and the best of them is 10 times weaker than the same RTX 4060, but as I wrote above, we know that the more powerful the hardware, the less input lag. Given all the above information, I would like to know which matrix will have a lower input lag, the CRT matrix 160 Hz or the OLED 240 Hz?

    • @tftcentral
      @tftcentral  Před 3 měsíci

      You can assume CRTs have no input lag, and can be used as a reference. I’m talking here about the delay caused by the display itself, not any other system latency metrics like graphics card, frame rates, refresh rate, mouse etc
      From there you can measure the lag of an LCD or OLED. Most modern gaming monitors like the 240Hz OLED have basically no lag at their native refresh rate, so both that and the CRT should be very low lag

    • @tftcentral
      @tftcentral  Před 2 měsíci +4

      That’s because with HDR enabled, windows desktop enters an sRGB emulation to handle SDR content and so will look far less saturated than the normal SDR mode where it doesn’t do that. Once you view actual HDR content mastered in a wider colour gamut it will show those colours more saturated again. Only enable windows HDR mode when you’re going to view actual HDR content
