    Hello Buddy, you just gained a new sub! Do you know any scanner that would work with a Trumpchi/GAC GS8? It seems like ThinkDiag 1 or 2 doesnt support it

    Interested, but I really only need for older vehicles say from 2010 down to 1996. Well either one really benefit me? Would I simply just need one of the plug in inexpensive units? Thanks for your videos.

      You're welcome JC! I cover a comparison of each towards the end of the video to help you decide (feel free to use the bookmarks on the video to jump to the section of interest). But yes, the Thinkdiag should be more than enough then (CANFD started around 2100, so it's likely you won't need it), here is the full review for it czcams.com/video/rGWSxEXFbOg/video.html Cheers!

    Great features, but will it show how much air pressure there is in each tire? TPMS (PS: I have 5 full size tires)

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Tech! The scanner supports TMPS, however the actual PID's you will be able to read will depend on your car depending on which sensors it has and what information those sensors can communicate to external tools (Some TPMS systems can communicate actual PSI and some can only communicate if they are off their target PSI. ThinkCar does accepts VIN #'s if you want them to check if it will be able to access the function you need. Cheers!

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi Tarik! The Thinkdiag 1 or 2 would be good choice if you are in a very limited budget. However if budget allows a larger scanner like this one would be a better choice czcams.com/video/d1wFA3gsq20/video.html as it will support multiple vehicles after the expiration date, where the Thinkdiag is really meant for the at home mechanic that may only need to work on a single car. Here is the full video where I cover the Thinkdiag subscription model in more detail czcams.com/video/Q3lnh7vYwVw/video.html Cheers!

    Does it capable activating features like carly does? I mean activating cornering light ? Or adaptive
    Lights?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi Akos! Unfortunately I have not tested Carly so I can't comment on it's features or performance. However yes Thinkdiag supports activation features. Just remember that actually being able to activate a specific component or feature varies from vehicle to vehicle (vehicles have different levels of control, some allow you to active more things than others) Thinkcar does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. And I have more scanner reviews on my channel in the playlist "OBD2 Scanner Reviews" if you like to compare them. Cheers!

      Hi Cecilia! Yes the scanner does support access to the suspension module, however actually being able to reset or relearn a specific component varies from vehicle to vehicle (vehicles have different levels of control) Thinkcar does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. Cheers!

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Nsabosd! The price varies depending on what area your are located at, if there are any discounts or coupons going on, how many yrs the renewal will be for and also when you renew (it's likely price will be different every year). You can also contact Thinkcar if you want an estimate but like I mentioned there will be many factors affecting price. Cheers!

    Which is best to buy for workshop? Reply please

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi! Ah I think both of this devices are better for the home mechanic than a shop environment where multiple cars of many different brands are coming in all the time and you need to have access to updates longer. So for a shop small workshop environment I would recommend this one czcams.com/video/d1wFA3gsq20/video.html And I have more scanner reviews on my channel in the playlist "OBD2 Scanner Reviews" if you like to compare them. • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi Ramamoorti! The Thinkdiag 2 is only rated for 9-18V. However there is an adapter that allows the use of 12V scanners on 24V systems, however I have not tested it personally here it is if you want to check it out amzn.to/3FY0QYE Cheers!

    Can this show live transmission temperature?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi Amtrak! Yes the scanner does support reading the transmission temperature. Just remember that some vehicles are not equipped with a transmission temperature sensor, some are quipped with a one but it does not communicate to scanners or only sends the signal to a cluster gauge, and some are equipped with one and can also send data out to a scan tool for readout. Thinkcar does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. Cheers!

    Que tal amigo... Yo tengo la versión de este escáner pero en marca Kingbolen... El Ediag Plus y funcionan igual... Las mismas funciones y características... Pero estoy interesado en un dispositivo de bolsillo como el Thinkdiag mini o kingbolen mini... Que piensas de ese dispositivo??? Sin importar la marca... A lo que me refiero principalmente es al dispositivo... La versión mini de estos escáners...
    Y además muy buena review de este producto... Estoy viendo tu canal y tienes cosas interesantes... Felicidades... Ya me suscribí... Atentamente Ernesto de Guatemala...

      Bienvenido al canal Ernersto y gracias! Ah es muy similar la funcion del Thinkdiag Mini al el de Thinkdiag regular pero en realidad como el Thinkdiag ya es pequeño (y si ya lo tienes) no se si haria mucho sentido comprar otro dispositivo similar. Prefereria utilizar ese dinero para comprar lo oposito, un scanner de tamaño completo con mas capabilidad como este czcams.com/video/d1wFA3gsq20/video.html hazi no duplico la capabilidad existente en mi taller, y mejor agrego una capabilidad nueva que no tenga. Saludos!

    can it do immo keys/fobs? does it work on European cars? does it have topology?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Hi Joey! The Thinkdiag 2 does supports IMMO (you can see that function around the 3:55 mark) but the ability to add a key to your car will depend on the type of key (there are different transponders and frequencies), the year and model of the car etc. Also remember some cars allow you to reuse non virgin keys, and other cars won't (but this can sometimes be bypassed by a dedicated IMMO tool that can make a key virgin again). Regarding EU cars, yes, there is coverage as shown around the 8:20 mark where I cover the supported car brands. Cheers!

      @AlexAutoFun  Před měsícem +1

      Hola JM! Ah si eres nuevo al uso de scanners, recommendaria empezando con uno basico como este czcams.com/video/NWnYXReXF5M/video.html Un scanner Bidirectional como el Thinkdiag puede ser confuso si no has utilizado un scanner por un tiempo antes. Si quieres algo advanzado per no tan complicado como un Bidirectional scanner este seria buena opcion czcams.com/video/97CUmA_B4RY/video.html y si quieres empezar con uno advanzado como el Thinkdiag si se puede, nada mas recuerda que su uso es mucho mas complicado que un scanners basico. La subscripcion por ejemplo no se necesita para usarlo, solo para updates y ciertas operacion que requieren el usode la internet, aqui lo explico en mas detalles czcams.com/video/Q3lnh7vYwVw/video.html Saludos!

      Hi Donald! There are some significant differences as shown on the video. If you don't need the extra features the Thinkdiag will be more than enough but as explained on the video, the Thinkdiag 2 would make sense for those looking for the extra capabilities. Cheers!

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Před měsícem

      Hi Eric! "Premium" is usually a marketing term. If you see that term being used, it rarely has meaning, looks for features and how well some is made (and in the case of food products, the source). Cheers!
