I've been in Mental Health field for 37+ yrs..psych nurse..brought up my children with abusive dad..left him so just me raising a son +2 daughters, one disabled...got my son therapy at 1st sign of issues, meds and football..which saved him. College grad, health field, paid his own way since 18..works n school..own apt, car, phone. Daughter, a nurse, did get into drugs bad crowd, but I gave her the right foundation to fall back on plus was there when she fell to help her get back on track. They both could've caved in with the "poor me"" "terrible childhood "crap...sorry...no excuse for this sick crime. Weak person and lazy too hard to do the right thing.
Malingering may also be better defined as someone exaggerating symptoms in hoping for a diagnosis of something they don’t actually have. This psychologist did not give the best answers, in my uneducated opinion.🤷♀️
