Like your videos Dan. I've ate many of those ration meals. A little tip for you. After you fold the end of the heater pack to seal it, put it back in the box it came in. It will help keep it closed and the box acts as insulation to hold the heat in for your meal. Keep on camping. It inspires me to do more.

to be honest mate , if he`s watched your video`s and he knows you leave no trace or do no damage he`s probably not that bothered at you being there , i`ve had land owners stomp up to me with a stinking attitude and ten minutes later after a brew they`ve left me there happy knowing i`m effectively helping to look after their land , it`s mostly kids getting drunk they need to move on . Having said that it is a challenge to stealth it up!

Great video Dan. I know you would have felt disappointed that Steve couldn't get out to look for you but as a viewer it was great watching. I don't know how you manage those cold temperatures. I am amazed and impressed!! So don't be fed up - it was a great video and very enjoyable to watch. The way that army ration pack heats up was fascinating too! Loved it. Good stuff bro, and greetings from across the pond. Imma be doing some winter motorcycle camping just carrying a 3 season USMC sleep system plus the ecw(extreme cold) bag and a tarp. The 3 season is an icw(intermediate cold weather) bag and the bivvy, but I also have the ecw(extreme cold weather) bag which isn't standard issue, but zips into the 3 season. Perhaps tho you'll appreciate I am gonna be using a surplus basha tarp. Y'all tarp game is on point over there in the British army

There's a layer of moisture rising from the floor in winter, which is one of the reasons why the hexi struggled. Some tin foil or a foil tray or something under the stove would have reflected a lot more heat upwards. The hexi fuel can be a giveaway though in a real situation due to smell, although I think you know this..

Hey Dan, very cool of the warden to have a game of hide and seek with you, I wouldn't worry too much about the orange buckle's, like you say once you get set up they won't be seen. You could have used a branch to rub over your footprints in the snow 👍 The ration packs are great value for money, and great for stealth camping 😁 never too old to play hide and seek with a hot chocolate pal 🤣🤣🤣 I'm pushing 50 and would still do it 🤣 I'll have to try the self heating meals soon, they look very handy. Love this idea. Might see if I can convince a few of my mates to have a wee game of stealth camp hide n seek.
Never used a ration pack, but thinking it would be good to have a few for those summer nights when you finish work, look out the window and think, let's go out for the night. Been many a time I've forgot my gas or my stove and had to have cold noodles for dinner.

I have a Samu TST winter quilted tarp/poncho with zipped sides (acts like a wearable bivvy) together with a woodland camo net & an additional white “snow” camo net & a hand made burlap guille suit serves me well in stealthy cold conditions like that & keeps me warm. I once had someone step over me without realising I was there in similar snow and brush conditions

Good video, not rushed except in the sense that it showed your adrenline levels rising and it's effects. No-one can comlain about yu playing....no-one should ever be to old to play - sadly there are many who either never learned or have given up and buckled under. HI another great video !! I have been using the same cook pot / fuel combination for a while now as its quieter than gas if you dig a small hole 4 /6 inches and get the stove below ground level it makes a massive difference to cooking time and fuel consumption( just my thoughts ) keep erm coming greetings from Brighouse .
Seen that sleeping bag a few times in your videos. Like the colour of it too. Might have to invest in that

Cold in Canada and cold in England.
I places like Canada it may indeed get extremely cold but the air is dry so it is manageable with the correct equipment and methods used to protect yourself.
In England the air is damp and this makes a hell of a difference, so things like Hypothermia can be a problem at less extreme temperatures.
A while ago I was skiing in the Alps at minus 8degrees and i was so hot I had to open my jacket to cool off.
The following day I got off of the ferry at Dover in plus 11degrees and it was bloody freezing because it was wet and damp.
