I always feel that Marvel criminally underused Captain Britain, he could have been the equivalent of Captain America in the British isles, he could do with some iconic villains to battle aswell
He *did* have some iconic villains. They've just been nicked and repurposed for the X Men titles by the same writers who are only interested in using Brian as a punchbag and/or the butt of cheap shots about Brexit.
I really wish Alan Moore had stuck to his guns and continued to refuse Marvel U.S. the rights to use the characters he'd originated. He only relented cos Joe Quesada said Marvel would give him credit - not money, just credit - and that they'd treat CB a bit better in future. But Marvel did the dirty on him and CB *again*. No wonder he didn't want to write for U.S. comics any more.
We need a new Gladiator on this Odison mould aswell.

I guess with him listed as being 6'6, he scales well with Capt America, just never knew he was that large

I actually really like him posed with Kitty in her Gold/Black look and Nightcrawler. Hopefully Excalibur will be here for X-Mas, except for Ryan Ting who will be the only one getting the 'Sword of Might'! Still waiting to see this evidence... 😜

One of the best stories I remember reading featuring Excalibur was in the Thor comics in the 1990s when the team came to the US to apprehend the Juggernaut, and were tricked by the enchantress to fight Thor, and The Wrecking Crew also fought Excalibur and Thor, it was a major battle that called in specialist SWAT team Code Blue to handle it

Good review. Widget is the 6th member of Excalibur and a pretty essential character to the team... the team won't be complete without Widget.
If it's the Sword of Might, why have they sculpted it to look EXACTLY like Excalibur as Leonard Kirk designed/drew it in CB:MI13 #4? We know that THAT sword is Excalibur cos Faiza Hussain subsequently draws it from the stone and uses it as her primary weapon in her crimefighting career. When she goes by the name of EXCALIBUR.
After my initial euphoria about this figure my enthusiasm has faded considerably, I'm afraid. It's the headsculpt - it just doesn't look like the helmet/faceplate he wore as part of this costume; there's no nose guard, the white band goes right across the mask rather than ending on either side of his nose and the whole thing looks like it's fitted/contoured to his face like a mask/cowl. Conversely, the previous figure (which you showed) DID have a mask/cowl in the comics... and on the figure, it's represented as a helmet. WTF, Hasbro?
I had thought I'd just port that head onto this new figure as a better match, but it doesn't look as if the reds match (which in itself is whack; how can you have such a significant difference in colour between two figures of the same character whose costume is patterned on the Union Jack?), so I dunno. People tend to scoff at the old Toybiz figures now, but the 2006 Captain Britain figure remains the gold standard for capturing that look for the headsculpt at least.
I suspect that Hasbro have sculpted this head with re - use in mind, which is doubly disappointing given that the head's about the only original thing on the figure. It suggests that Brian's the poor relation in this pack... which is entirely in keeping with the way Marvel U.S. have treated the poor sod for...oh, about 30 years now?
I guess my wait for a comics - accurate "Davis Default" Captain Britain figure continues. Rant over, good video Dan.
Cool review always Dan, just fitting you get to reveal this figure, youre Brit right? Jk! ..having the Abomination version, maybe they could have given him an unmasked Brian head..but still a nice update..

I'm not sold thats the same buck as odinson and the old Captain Britain. It seems slimmer in the lats and the chest is smaller. And the legs are slimmer.
So they do a Wolverine five pack but an Excalibur three pack??? Yeah, that’s an odd choice. A dumb one really.
