    Okay so when I first stared your videos I saw it as just a negative reflection on figures as i've grown to see your points I can not watch other CZcamsrs I shall not name because all they do is praise Marvel legends and they can do no wrong while spewing the support my channel. You give good criticism on the things these figures should be and provide good examples to go with your point. Great videos keep up the good work. ☺

    @TheDrRandomness Před 2 lety +20

    I dont mind the price change if they make the price worth it with more sculpting detail and more accessories. Otherwise imma be very picky with figures I want cause at the moment. 40 bucks for rhino for example is ridiculous when we have figures like beast and the thing for 20 to 25.

  • @si_fi109
    @si_fi109 Před 2 lety +18

    Right when I started getting into legends cause it's a cheaper way to collect my favs, they raise the price. Maybe this is a sign

    • @wertyda1

      They raise the price yet do not improve the quality

  • @marcusklutts1609

    They should ditch the BAF pieces, and keep the price point between $20-22. Make the figures that would be BAFs available separately at varying prices depending on size and accessories.

  • @SchmoeGoldman
    @SchmoeGoldman Před 2 lety +7

    I think the $25 price point sucks because most of the figures were barely worth $20. Now at $25 they sucks.

  • @whozyourdaddy
    @whozyourdaddy Před 2 lety +5

    The talk to the manager face. Yeah, $25 is ridiculous for these figures. I understand inflation and the rising costs in labor and shipping, but most Legends are $15 figures all day long. This is $10 higher than my personal perceived value.

    • @ReeceHoward06
      @ReeceHoward06 Před 2 lety

      Exactly. Many legends eventually sell for $15 on Amazon after a couple of months anyways. I only buy the ones that I think will be bought out fast 1st if it's something I really want. I wait for others to reduce in price.lol

  • @kltoybox
    @kltoybox Před 2 lety +9

    If they implemented more consistent articulation like double ball pegs, and double elbows for the females releases. They have such thin tiny arms a lot of the time, and it makes their aesthetics weird a lot of the time.
    Idk it’s hard to justify the $25 when a lot of waves have more duds then need be. They show us they can make amazing figures at the price, but then in the same wave give us something that’s isn’t great.
    We need a solid ML Magneto … Still!

  • @TheMattTrakker
    @TheMattTrakker Před 2 lety +4

    The price hike was enough for me to give up on legends. The quality is garbage for $25 + tax.

  • @JenkoMorningstar
    @JenkoMorningstar Před 2 lety +7

    I'm not interested in buying figures of this quality for 25 dollars. I'm just gonna get out of this line tbh, just buy some cool releases here and there but mostly out unless they lower the price back again.

  • @Mistersensitive75
    @Mistersensitive75 Před 2 lety +5

    I think the Marvel Legends design team’s motto is probably something like “that’ll do” or “that’s enough”. That face is just awful.

  • @huntingwolf20
    @huntingwolf20 Před 3 měsíci

    I always tend to like articulation to be within human possiblity. The ankle forward thing always seemed to make them too unstable. But I know doesn't always work in toys. Agree with the ball socket though.

  • @johns3153
    @johns3153 Před 2 lety +1

    When I first started collecting they where 18.99 at Walmart and Walgreens would have random sales for $12.99-$14.99 but now I see Walgreens in my area don't even have a peg for legends anymore so Definitely time for me to save my Money maybe a good thing lol

    Hey Anthony watch out for your cortisol levels when you review marvel legends figures, not good for the body lol. I appreciate your reviews, I only pick and choose the good ones thanks to your videos...

  • @brendanorourke4727
    @brendanorourke4727 Před 2 lety +1

    The ironic thing about these most recent price hikes is they actually save me money ordering a single figure at a time from Amazon Canada. I'm usually only getting between 0-1 figure per wave, so the increase from $29.99 to $35.99 in recent years saves me from paying $8 shipping per Legend or Black Series. If I was a completionist, I wouldn't be anymore though.

  • @hannahsaphire7643

    The facial expression would go nicely with a drool cup accessory. Thanks for the awesome review Anthony❣️

  • @brenoferreiraferreira4409

    I agree with your critics and... incomprehensible, it's the right adjective to describe the reason why Hasbro designers won't do it properly when they could do it without spending any more money, I just can't understand it.
    I keep buying ML because I tend to look at them as a whole and not individually, what I mean is that even though individually some of the ML Hasbro releases are in fact bad action figures a display with all my favorite Marvel comics characters will end up looking amazing.
    Thanks for the review Anthony.

    I've always Cherry Picked Marvel Legends and only get figures I Really want, here in my country they've always been Overpriced and now it's just getting worse (140 Ron to 160 Ron), gonna continue cherry picking and only getting stuff that's worth it.. the price increase is quite bad seeing how Mixed their figures are

  • @basicfacekick
    @basicfacekick Před 2 lety

    Hasbro knows they have a lock on these C and D list characters. Sure we can go to MAFEX, Amazing Yamaguchi or other imports for the big name characters but if you are a big fan of more than just those... your option is Legends. So they crank up the price while dialing down on accessories or articulation so it's "good enough."

  • @Hdhakdhdj
    @Hdhakdhdj Před 2 lety +1

    Hike in price will be their demise. We all know for then is only 5 or 6 characters that sell and collectors will always get. For the rest not even scalpers want them lol

  • @Hilltopperpete
    @Hilltopperpete Před 2 lety

    The ankle flex articulation in this figure and in most figures without large obstructions sculpted into the top of the foot are anatomically accurate. You may want more from a figure, but flex your foot and look at the angle and compare it to the figure. The ankle articulation matches normal human articulation just fine!
    A toe flex like the old Toybiz figures or McFarlane's offerings would obviously help the posing, but the tiny feet on these female figures already makes it almost impossible to hit dynamic poses without stands.

    • @AnthonysCustoms
      @AnthonysCustoms  Před 2 lety

      These are action figures. Being able to flex more than a real human is desirable. Plus, we have toes that bend... These don't.

  • @double0joe277

    Things definitely need to change quality wise in order to warrant that increased price

  • @PowerChordEPS
    @PowerChordEPS Před 2 lety +1

    I'll put it this way: I'm going to be way more selective on my Hasbro purchases with this price hike. I expect to see that extra fiver get put to good use.
    No excuse to be lazy anymore. I understand part reuse is the name of the game, but if the quality isn't going to match the price, I'll stick to higher end collectibles

  • @mangArtist5
    @mangArtist5 Před 2 lety +3

    Yep I'm with you, I'm saving my money for better figures from different companies, $25 simply isn't worth what we've been getting.

  • @benh.1591

    Love your videos, the best substitute to actually buying all this stuff, for me anyway. Definitely the best reviewer out there. Every year there appear to be less and less buyworthy figures from ML.
    Question for you though:
    Would you prefer to go back to the Toy Biz ML days with more paint, more unique sculpts but less anatomic accuracy (huge ball hips, short torsos, long legs
    ... ) or the current Hasbro ML's with their bland unpainted yet more accurate humanlike looks?
    I am aware that by now we should have the best of both worlds, but if you'd had to choose?

    • @AnthonysCustoms
      @AnthonysCustoms  Před 2 lety +2

      I wouldn't pick either because they don't need to be exclusive. However, what toybiz did was acceptable at the time. What Hasbro is doing isn't.

  • @brockwtrs

    This figure is pretty alright. I mean, that’s the best way to describe it. I’m glad it’s in my collection, I keep it in my display, but
    I really didn’t need it.

  • @mkl4466
    @mkl4466 Před 2 lety +1

    I'm not really familiar with this version of the character. Are the claws supposed to be straight or kinda pinched in like they are in the package? As for price hike, not a fan. Especially when online retailers take it up another couple of dollars plus shipping on top. I either order whole waves if I like at least 3 or 4 or I want the BAF, otherwise I look for loose figures 2nd hand. $20 was just about right for these figures. Exclusives and special anniversary editions (not even deluxe) getting over $30 now is really hard to swallow.

  • @darrisreid502
    @darrisreid502 Před 2 lety

    I am in the camp I don't see the worth in the price jump slowly I am getting out of the Hasbro figures. My biggest issue is sh figuarts and mcfarlane when comparing them. Figuarts being I would spend a little more for quality and mcfarlane still being a lower decent price that regularly give new sculpts

  • @maxbanh
    @maxbanh Před 2 lety

    To me it should’ve remain 20 bucks but if they are gonna bump up five dollars more at least give us shading and or painted lines, something that makes it worth $25.

  • @RKAlucard
    @RKAlucard Před 2 lety

    I had already cut back when they were $23 so it'll be even worse at $25. I mostly collect MCU figures but even those don't seem worth it at that price.

    I don't think the figures are worth $25. I get them on sale for under $20.
    I really hate the new female Renée Zellweger faces. They are not pretty at all.
    I would rather have a lot of pretty same face characters than ugly and original.
