I only do it because I love that series, especially in the early days with Captain Britain, Meggan, Shadowcat, Lockheed, Widget, and.....someone else. Where's my Hound Phoenix, Hasbro?

People forget that Excalibur started as a light fun action book which makes the smiles very comic accurate. The first few issues were actually kind of 🤪 goofy. I agree about the orange body suit being a lesser choice. I want this set but I really need my new nightcrawler first.
i was gonna say something along the same lines. i don’t really remember a lot of tragedy. and they were running/flying around with big smiles tho.
Can’t wait for the Rachel Summers figure. A new Spiral would be cool too. It could be double pack, since they have history together.

Excalibur was the first comic I got when I started collecting. Still have that same book to this day. Can’t wait for Pulse to ship this out. Thanks for the review Robo.
This is a set I’m really looking forward to, and as an Alan Davis-era Excalibur fan, I share some of your concerns. No one brought the team to life like he did.

Yes, anytime Alan Davis was on Excalibur the book was magic. Anytime he wasn’t it seriously struggled with the one exception of Ron Lim. Really looking forward to this set!

The number of smiling female marvel legends is really getting higher. it’s getting harder to make a fighting scene pose with that expression. all seems friendly.

They need to stop, a slight smirk expression would work perfectly, like their having fun while fighting but the full blown smile simply doesn’t work
Well, to me, Meggan's smile looks more creepy than friendly ^^
A lot of collectors don’t really use their figures for taking photos of action scenes or things of that nature. A lot of collectors just like having teams on display on the shelf indefinitely. For that purpose, the smiling heads are okay.
These figures will work well as victims of Joker's smilex gas.

This "90s" Shadowcat is 85% of why I was excited when I saw this in my Hasbro newsletter. Because I needed a version of her from this era. Hopefully that means we'll finally see 90s Rachel Summers in a modern Marvel Legends wave. Hopefully her grandfather too. I'm only 3 minutes in but I wonder if Fwoosh will bring up Meggan's frightening face, she has Joker smile going on.
Folks in this comment section would know the answer to this... do the companies intentionally make a limited supply? Likely they make THOUSANDS of copies but never enough for characters that will undoubtedly be popular. I don't imagine they want to help the resale market so why not not make a billion 90s series Spiderman figures or green goblins or Skrull soliders or whatever else... I was on the fence about collecting Spidey's rogues and the 90s series versions seems to be my way of getting them but they're impossible to get. Just reprint, it's guaranteed money. Just go see what's selling on Ebay and reissue. lol

Rockin' review, Robo! I'm that one guy who does not like the X-Men. That said, I actually like the Shadow Cat figure best. Sometimes simplicity is best.
That captain Britain is sick. I too would have wanted more beefed out but yeh it’s dope.
You know your books Robo. kudos! Really hard not to mention Alan Davis in an Excalibur topic. With my budget constraint, I could only get 1 figure from that pack and that would be Captain Britain. Because he was written by Alan Moore and drawn by the aforementioned Alan Davis. Epic run I must say. Good times solid review!
Hope we eventually Kitty in one of her 90's X-Men uniforms from the later Excalibur issues.

Love these figures. This set was way easier to get than Rictors three pack. I hope they do a single release of him soon. A Nightcrawler with Hound Rachel with her fire wings down her arms and maybe a Cersi would be a nice three pack.
Also I really hope they stop doing exclusives with stores like Walgreens. Its making me fall out of the collecting. Out of nine figures i would have bought including the Nova and Quasar this is the only one. It sucks when you are forced to pay 60 bucks for a 20 buck figure since their partnership doesnt really mean anything to either side.

Nice review of this set! I hear everyone about the 'smiling' faces. I think Hasbro should look into more "swappable" parts...in this case swappable faces. They should make all the hair plug or peg into the head so you can swap faces. This way you could make one set of hair, and different faces to plug in (serious, smiling, snarling, etc). Still this is a great set. Finally have Meggan! So happy!

Just Rachel? We need Kylun and Cerise too. Kylun even had a classic ToyBiz figure. Would be great to see the full roster from Alan Davis’ iconic run on Excalibur.
Ooo, they could give us another three-pack to build out this team. Finally give us a Rachel, plus Cerise and Kylun. Pete Wisdom and Micromax would also be good to get sometime down the line.

Thanks for this really detailed video! I’ve only recently got into collecting Marvel Legends, and have really liked discovering Excalibur (as both a Brit and childhood X-Men fan), so I was hoping that there was a decent Captain Britain in particular.
This set was still available on Hasbro Pulse, so I might just get it.

For Kitty I think if you tighten the belt and have it sit higher up on her actual waist it will look more comic accurate.

Nice review! This is another great set from ML... I just wish they packed this with the actual Meggan, CB and Kitty Jim Lee cards so that it becomes nostalgia overload! Nevertheless, two thumbs up for this set and for the review. :)

Abomination wave Captain Britain's head would give you a great half-helmet sculpt for Captain Britain. Just have to paint the back of the head and the white lines on the front of the mask. Wish they'd have used it on Brian or included it.

All of them could have used the new body types with no pegs and better articulation but I love Excalibur and I'm glad we're only missing one member to complete the team.
I totally agree with you regarding the looks, yellow costume Megan would be better for this Brian Braddock, or the other way around, v chest costume Brian Braddock would be better for this Megan but in the end if I had to choose individually I would've chosen the exact same costumes for each of this characters Hasbro did.
I hope Rachel will come with a Widget.

This one looks so cool. Unlikely to make it down my ways for a while, but here's hoping.
I have mine on preorder. Mostly for the Megan as I could make an Excalibur as I have Nightcrawler and Rachel Summers as well as Captain Britain and Kitty Pryde.
Thank you for addressing the discrepancies. X-fandom isn't the most noisy lot, but most of us feel the same as you about the costume details. I love the X-stuff we get from Hasbro, while accepting loltheir bias for looks from games, cartoons, and the early 90s books. But then they throw something amazing at us like Maggott, so who knows!

Nice looking 3 pack. As an Englishman it appeals to me.
Captain Britain is a big improvement over the Hyperion mould they used on the last figure. Butterfly joints would've really boosted him to the next level.
Megan and Kitty look good. Shame they don't have the new female articulation.
If costumes don't quite match I imagine them just wearing the old one from the back of the wardrobe/closet. 🙂
As a Briton, I am now compelled to but these and as them to my team of British Marvel characters - so far, I have Union Jack, Captain Britain, Spider-Man UK, the Black Knight, and Captain Carter. Still need a Death's Head and Blade.

Robo, I also am a big Shadow cat fan. This is very nice basic representation. The Meggan is pretty but a release with alternative heads and the orange comfy costume would be satisfying. I think This Britain is probably the best were going to see and I am fine with everything. Box art is functional and clean. Excalibur Was a fun comic with alot of heart. My favorite more alternative comic in the x-family is Exiles. It was a a relatity hoping multiverse epic. The first series was as you would suspect the best. 👍on the review.

I thought it was worth noting that Brian's uniform was destroyed during Inferno when Kitty used the Soul Sword on him to break the demonic influence.
