- Amazon finally got the rest of my Hasbro Marvel Legends X-Men Ch'od Wave so here...we....go. I already reviewed Astonishing X-Men Emma Frost and Cyclops but they still make and appearance here along with Generation X Monet and Chamber, Kid Omega, Imperial Guard Fang, and Starjammers Corsair. Oh, and Ch'od, of course.

No interest in the wave and don’t regularly collect marvel legends. Yet I’ll always tune in to listen to Robo

Yes, I feel the same way. Th only figure I want is Cyclops. But Robo makes sitting through a half hour video about figures and characters I don't really care about super entertaining.
Corsair reminds me of Ben Stiller from Dodgeball. LOL "No one makes me bleed my on blood!" :D

If you push inwards a bit at the shoulder, you can get Chamber's arms up to horizontal. His arms are reuse from Jimmy Woo. The little black mark on Monet's forehead is probably an imperfection in the plastic (often from an air bubble in the plastic), which when it comes to QC issues Hasbro has, those imperfections are really annoying, as they can't just be wiped away like a wayward drop of paint.
Ah, yeah, I didn't get Woo so I missed that.
You probably don't realise it but with this wave you've actually got half the Generation X team. Chamber and Monet were wearing those costumes in the series and Emma Frost and Banshee were both teaching them. Throw in one of the Jubilee's and you're just waiting for Husk, Penance, Skin and Synch!
Fang should have come with a Daken head. Also, I removed Kid Omega's granny glasses and glued on an extra set of Jubilee visor that I had. Looks much better! Nice wave over all though. Lot of variety.
Ooo, has Daken wore this costume? That would have been cool.

Just looked it up, may have to do that, although I think I like the mohawk more than the man bun.

watching your animated effect and editing skills get better and better with each video is awesome. the pan up to title was neat and subsequent character specific animated effects add a unique sense of imagination that comes with playing with toys that the effects in the review replicate, and they're getting more ambitious and impressive with each video (:

Didn’t realize until this video that Ch’od uses the Rhino BAF body.
Yup. Abom used the base, but Hasbro altered it some, then altered it again for Ch’od.
I would imagine "Chuh-Odd" is also just more, uhh, dignified than being called "chode".
For kid Omega, this body is perfect for Miles and nightcrawler simple legs and arm swap with a vest peal and transfer which works perfectly, like it was meant to be

I just got this wave and it's on my desk. I too want more Starjammers! As far as sets go, this is my favorite one in a while for each character being pretty good.
Damn the wrapped alternate head is so obvious, but I didn't even think of it until Robo said it. But Hasbro has taught me to have my expectation to the floor. I hope we see the wrapped head on alternate body in the maroon costume like the rest of Gen X.
I can't wait for Fang he is going to look great with my other Wolverine rouges!

Got this wave yesterday and the lack of accessories is just really on the nose for the price. Not only that but my Emma is missing her second set of hands. I wanted to enjoy these figures but just found myself feeling a type of buyer’s remorse over how little bang I got for my buck.

Found Chamber last week, took the spare head from the newish Ghost rider and the gloved hands and put them on , looks better and not so odd in the length of the arms. But that's me , I'm old , going on 55 , I like it better.
Those Fang boots look like a good swap on the Training Uniform Forge for a bit of mod flair.
I like the monet I'm glad the hairs thin and pretty flexible because you can just bend it up and tilt the head back for flying poses.
Also Quentin 's face sculpt reminds me of Tom holland.
I have 4 of them coming. I may go back for Chamber and Kid Omega, because I have seen some cool headswaps for them. So it's possible I will complete the BAF.

I did a couple quickie customs of two of these, already.
Ch’od from Abom with Juggy’s be,t. It’s too loose.
Chamber from 90s Morbius and …Ult.Goblin fire effect? I forget which head I used, but it just hangs around his neck.
(I think everybody tried the Forge/Corsair custom? I skipped it.)
Chamber and Monet go with Massachusetts Academy headmasters Banshee and Emma (in a white version of M’s costume) for GenX. Sean alternated between green and blue, and in later issues, wore a Celtics jacket over his uniform.
Quentin, I would try the BoneBreaker head for him (or Fang-Daken?), repainting his Mohawk.

That comic book look for Chamber looks like the head from one of the Rocketeer figures. If it's the Funko that one is 6 inch, but the Diamond Select is 7 inch.
Lack of weapon and details are missing from Ch’od and why oh my did they reuse abomination body for him. And accessories or lack hurts this wave but it’s a ok X-men wave hopefully next they would fill in the ranks. Great review like always ..
The ch'od wave is a Hugh improvement over the bone breaker wave imo. Their were so many things wrong with the bone breaker wave that I waited for a price drop to buy it. Vulcan, bone breaker & havok mainly for the effects were the only great figures in that wave. I only don't like kid omega In this wave because of his costume but at least they didn't give up on the krakoan era X-Men yet. All we need is Adam x to complete the summers brothers now.
When was Adam confirmed? I know he was teased for years, but Joe Q or somebody kept blocking it.

X-men legends was about previous x writers like Claremont, David, nicieza & simonson writing stories that took place in the past while the krakoa era was still happening. Fabian nicieza wrote a arc where havok & Cyclops found out that Adam x was their half brother do to emperor d-ken taking dna from Katharine summers & merging it with his before killing her to make a kid.
Use the chamber torso and the longshot legs and you have a pinless ghost rider body for now

Emma is starting to hit, but I haven’t seen any others in this wave, yet.
Hell, mine only have Strucker and Cap in Puff Adder wave. 🙄

This wave is better than the past few but Hasbro prices are still just barely too much for what they are
For the Fang action figure, I'm planning on making him into Wolverine by using his beserker head from the Return of Wolverine action figure. (The Wolverine action figure with his heat claws.)

There was definitely an older comic where the Abomination was launched into space, then came back issues later accompanied by space-based characters, and for years I always assumed that Ch'od was just that same thing.
Corsair and Fang for me. Then it’s off to the fodder bin to craft a CH…odd. That’s how I pronounce it too. The Chamber body is tempting. I never really read the comics with Chamber or Monee. (Sorry Rich M) It’s a cool looking figure but I needs funds for Joes.

A nice review but I will say this wave was really chopped up for my a outsider to the x men although since you mentioned it that kid omega could make a great base for a custom

While watching Robo take a look at Corsair, did anyone else think that head sculpt is a dead ringer for Dwight (Ben Stiller) from Dodgeball?
The newer (Bonebreaker) Havok head and effects work well with older (Juggernaught) Havok. If you don't mind the older body style, there is more and (I think) better paint work.

I think the Toybiz Abomination is a little bigger in scale to the Hasbro one, maybe you could create a bigger Ch'od with him?
The 90's X-Men cartoon was made in Canada. English and French are the language in spoken in Canada. I was on a camping trip in Canada and our guide was named Cloud (pronounced CLODE) So my guess they pronounce Ch'od as chode because, French.
But Robo pronouncing it as Ch'od is more family friendly, since CHODE is another name for weiner. 🤷

I was out of comic books at the time of Astonishing X-men. Was the artist using Christina Aguilera as his inspiration? That is immediately who I thought of when the figure was revealed and it has only been solidified since getting the figure in hand.

I'm not a fan of this look for Quentin Quire, and I *know* the context. It's just... boring. Even as an X-Force outfit, it's not like anyone else on his team is wearing a stealthy outfit.
They really could've made up for the lack of accessories with more thought put into the BAF. I didn't even notice the fingers, but that's a dealbreaker for me. Lack of gun I could just about take, but not that. I'm probably just going with Emma, Cyclops and Corsair, and at discounted prices. Glad to know snipping off Cyclops' smoking part doesn't leave too noticeable a mark, at least.
Not exactly my Era of X-Men here. Cyclops and Emma certainly are but the restrictive cape and the single jointed elbows make it a pass. Cyclops might be a pickup but we'll see. Chamber I was gonna get to be a civilian but knowing he has those outdated Coulson ankles are disappointing.
