Which car scanner tool should you buy? Should you go for a less expensive unit or a big expensive bi-directional scanner? - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Hey - thanks for making the effort and sharing your thoughts; appreciate it! - and ignore the unconstructive negatives; not worth the headspace.
I got the TopScan and it can also test eBrake actuators and retract for brake jobs. Great tool for the price
yea it does a surprising amount of stuff!
does the small topscan tool retractRhe rear electric piston on cars when doing rear brake jobs ?
After i got finished working on my car, i went through the top don app & played around with my car from my phone 😂
I saw topscan has a subscription after the first year. Does that include the EPB fuction?
@Bearded Reviews does the $50 one read real odometer reading?
If not, are you familiar with the Topdon ArtiDiag900 Lite and does it read the odometer?
Cool review thanks buddy
thanks for watching man!!
if you use the adaptor will the dongle work?
can it do immo keys/fobs? does it work on European cars? does it have topology?
need help vci not connecting says registered already.....i didnt so this product must be used how do i fix it
Topscan can do dpf regeneration? Or just dpf reset?
I got the Xtool A30M it wipes the floor with the TopScan dongle. The Xtool was $180 dollars on sale normally $200. It has way more special functions is bidirectional and lifetime free updates. I just love the thing.
Looks very hot at your house bud sorry man.
Can u code injectors ie diesel
Will the smaller one read injector balance rates on a duramax?
Yes
Hey. Thanks for the vid. Can the smaller one trigger transmission shift soilenoids? Please lmk, I’ve been searching for a good, inexpensive one with that capability for 2 days now. Thanks agan
I don't think that it has the capability
@@beardedreviews Thanks so much for the reply
I’ve got the abs on, can you check and clear the code with the cheap one ?
Yes
I personally like your videos. Thanks for sharing
Do you know if either one does motorcycles?
Thanks man! I don't think they do, but I don't know a ton about motorcycle diagnostics
Does it do 4x4 stuff in a 14 cherokee preferably ptu codes.
I'm wondering if it does 4x4 on a Tahoe, did you try it on the jeep?
Does the topdon have key/ fob programming or is that an add on?
Phoenix Plus programs key fobs. Just comes with it. You have updates for 2 years. After that - another year of update is $545. The Phoenix will fully function without updates - it just doesn't keep up with the newly released vehicles etc. The statement on a lot of these devices includes TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System.) I don't know if some of the even more expensive units will actually do TPMS - but this is a word game. TWO types of TPMS. DIRECT and INDIRECT. These types only do INDIRECT. Indirect is where each wheel speed sensor is used to estimate the pressure in the tire. The Phoenix plus will manage that. (Phoenix plus does a LOT) However, these won't do the DIRECT type. The Direct is where you have a tire pressure device built into the schrader valve - and it sends a signal up to the computer. It is an Exact pressure. Indirect is using the rotational speed of the tire and comparing it to the other tires - to decide if a tire is low. Stupid & smart all at the same time. Direct (imo) is the way to go and the way a bunch of cars are... You have to have a separate TPMS device for that. Just a heads up. I've been reading about these; and planning on shortly purchasing a Phoenix Plus. Don't like the $545 update fee a couple years later - but I'm not a shop or a dealership. And the device is not bricked - it just no longer receives updates on various codes and model years. I believe the Phoenix Lite will also program key fobs etc.
Call me boujee man but i got the matco maxlite lol its so raw....my buddy has a c class and i set shift points with it, i can set idle, fuel air, anything....luve data recording. And it has every software u can imagine in it already... Bugatti Ferrari rolls.....not that ill be working on em here in Wichita 🤣 but i can!! 🤣 awesome ti see your growth bro this is dope
Yea man, yours is on another level lol. I just need to reset oil life and check window motors and stuff. One day I'll be there at your level!! And thanks man!!
@@beardedreviews Weird I came back to watch this video and not only have I watched it... apparently I even commented 🤣
Can it program key transponders?
I believe so, but I think you might need an attachment
So basically you are paying $1000 dollars for an Android Tablet with an advanced ODB2 software application built in.
Unfortunately for the people who got there first , eventually technically catches up. Scanners were 5-10 grand & manufacturer specific when i used to work at the dealership 10 years ago
Can I switch off my car with that scanner, saying I'm being hijacked?
You could just turn the fuel pump off with it. So yes
I don't believe OBD1 actually works on it, I believe those are for the OBD2 early vehicles that were still using the OBD1 connector. Might be worth verifying that but want to save somebody from buying the whole tool just for OBD1 functions.
The yearly fee makes it not worth it at all. Xtool a30m is a way better deal.
I believe there's only a fee if you want to update it past the current year. Most of my cars are older
@@beardedreviews that's what I thought but it said it takes away functionality after a year unless you pay. All these positive reviews will die when people have to pay to keep the features a year from now. I read the fine print. It's garbage unless you work on cars all day.
@@Matt91593 holy crap. I'm going to look into that
Most of the better Bluetooth dongles are an annual subscription.
Carly is $99 and is slow and missing most functions you need.
You can always use the light version for free, then if you need to go deeper you can buy a year fee for the bidirectional or then upgrade to the pro.
@texaspowerman been using OBDeleven for my Audi. Paid $100 if I want the premium version extra 1 time $50
That top Don is on a subscription, you have to pay hundred bucks a year
Is it a hundred bucks for everything? (Including every single car and all functions) I saw that thinkdiag is like 20 bucks for every function and another fee for more cars
@@miguelarmenta5703
i don't know i don't own one but i read the fine print before pushing pay.
you have 2 tier sub's
50 will get you some features, enough if you are not a pro and you are just a casual or weekend warrior
100 will get you more features but not enough to run a shop since it seem limited to the amount of cars and functions. you can't program modules with this.
that being say, is a slight step above an autozone code reader but not high enough for a snap on tablet seems to be.
but for the price i guess is ok since those snap on's can cost an arm.
i am not sure if you can program keys with this, i was reading and reading and i couldn't find anything being clear about that function so again. if you can't program modules and you have to pay a hundred each year is not worth it for me
For the small dongle too?
Topdon topscan is not usable unless you pay for the yearly fee of $50. Verified with topdon.
First year is free. I bought one because it was the cheapest way to power bleed abs system after replacing pump. Every other scanner was over $100, and I wasn’t certain if they are trash.
@deadlata9767 Yes first year is free because you paid the $50 to buy it. But after the first year you have to pay $50/year or it's a brick. Better to get xtool a30m. Its a similar tool and I've seen it as low as $130 but has free lifetime updates.
You’re sweating a lot and there’s no b-roll of you using the top don.
So we cyberbully people about it???? Can't bully your way through life
Sweating is what people do when they actually DO SOMETHING . You probably get cramps in your fingers from typing, like the cramping I’m having in my thumb trying to type this response.
What’s wrong with u it’s probably hot and he’s working
@@marshallcollins8634he does have a point how do you review something and not show yourself using it
pretty decent criticism
