      Free lifetime updates
      It has 16 gigs but once you update it you have about 500 megs of memory left
      I deleted the cars ( mostly Chinese ) that I will never use and freed up 7 gigs
      Nice thing is you never lose them so if I did ever need them in the future you just download them
      It reads all the modules
      So for about a third of the price and no yearly subscriptions it’s a nice kit
      You can do a lot with this
      It’s a great mid level scanner
      Comparable ones with this have a subscription so I went with this
      Used it on 4 cars so far and no problems
      It’s also pretty quick and comes with a web browser camera and video recorder

      @danktreez5115 Před 2 lety

      @@RANDOMFIX That is exactly the problem. Not sure autel has anything at that price point that does what the launch does. Honestly, having them both is worth it. I have every single dealer scanner and still grab autel and launch for quick access to stuff I know works for what I need it to do. For best all around tool I would get an autel elite or something around 2k that comes with 2 years of updates. But at 800 - 1k, Topdon, Launch, thinkdiag (all are made by launch) are almost impossible to beat. But they have drawbacks like every single scanner ever made. Best bang for the buck by far is going with Diagzone. Get a compatible dongle and its 100 for a year and never quits working. Works on android. Same exact thing as new Topdon or Launch or Thinkdiag. Even uses same exact topology. The other bonus with Autel would be it has a j2534 vci and you can use that with the oem dealer stuff.

    • @RANDOMFIX
      @RANDOMFIX  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for sharing. And I 100% agree that there is no tool under 2k that does everything however maybe 85% is covered. But this $540 per fee for updates is also crazy. Last I had an autel it was $250 a year this was back in 2014-2016.

      @@RANDOMFIX They have all become very greedy with update prices. We can thank companies like snap on for that. Snap on has spent decades boning us for updates with insane prices and for years we all paid them. The Chinese figured this out and have gone the same route. Have to look at these thing like something you buy and hopefully get 2 years of updates. Then sell it and get a new one with another 2 years of updates.

      I hear that or someone needs to start hacking the updates. Trust me there is someone that has done this. I got a Mucar vo6 and the vendor sent it fully unlocked so I gave support for life or until tool is useless.

    Don't forget to tell people, if you don't continue the upgrades, you lose bi directional features and this bocomes a 200 dollar scanner.

      You don't lose bi directional controls if you don't update

      @@RANDOMFIX Randomfix, I can't explain how bad this video is.I am an auto electricician of 40 years experiance and know that i still havent finished my apprentiship.If somone is goining to spend a few quid on a diagnostic tool they dont need a whole episode of whats in the box.I have had the phoenix plus for about 2 years now and it has been weighed,measured and left wanting.My dealer kit has leads that cost more than the phoenix plus,but I understand this is a pricey tool for some.So as a pricey tool with obvious flaws,can you please in fututre get to the POINT of bi directional tool capabilities,not whats in the box.
