- I rant and sometimes calmly discuss the USS Wisconsin dockyard ship which is very strong unless you don't know how to aim, and combines my two favourite things about battleships which are consistent accuracy and HE spam resistance with a side of screw your planes.
Captain build is standard tank but dropping a 3 pt basics of survivability/improved repair skill for the 2pt AA skill and the 1pt emergency repair skill

You gotta love the player on your team who called you bad, actually apologizing and admitting they were clearly wrong at the end of the game. Very rare to see that nowadays.
truly incredible to see, but in his defense 90%+ of whales/supertesters play like absolute bots, so assuming i'm dogshit was, to start, a reasonable assumption
When I first saw this thing, the accuracy alone was a selling factor.
I’m very hyped to get this overtuned broken package that literally doesn’t have a citadel.
Please do more reviews, was honestly refreshing. Separately, I think uptiered boats should get a bonus to HP/damage/other attributes to help them cope with the imbalance of the situation
appreciate it and totally agree...IDK what the solution is but the fact 99% of cruisers at tier 9 cannot bounce 406s but fight tier tens like 80% of their games is wild.
I actually like that the CC called her mediocre. Because everytime CC called someships busted or OP, WG nerfed it to shit.

Some of what you said about Wisconsin at the end matches what I've said about Musashi for years. I hear so much "Musashi is OP because it faces Tier VIIs" when Musashi's shells don't overmatch Tier VIIs any harder than every other Tier IX BB except Marlborough also do. No, what Musashi does is force those Tier VIIs to face Tier X armor and health. Musashi's 410mm belt laughs at Tier VII BB shells until they are suicidally close. Her deck? Tier VII cruisers can't hope to HE pen it. Her torpedo belt? Have fun Tier VII DDs...
The other thing Musashi, which is really a Tier 9.9 BB, does is, barring the opposing team also having a Musashi, makes the MM place a Tier IX BB opposite what is essentially a Tier X BB.
True. Only difference between musashi and yama is that musashi has some different sec setup, and has basically no aa to speak of.
personally i think making overmatch scale damage would be a start, maybe 50% damage for a pen/op that was solely due to overmatch mechanic
Same, i don't get how "certain CCs" said it was a mediocre ship, it's clearly busted af.
The reason is he's completely burnt out and needs to take a break.
As for the Wisky players I see in game, they always try to play it like a Beerandcheesecurdgogne rather than a San Cowtine and honestly most do mediocre at best.
So good for unicums there are gonna be plenty of potato players who will prevent the ship from being nerfed.
I've seen 4 CC reviews where the views ranged from "mediocre" to, at best "decently strong." In ranked maybe it's not a top pick but in randoms it's minimum an A tier BB.

@@hagostaeldmann Yeah, in ranked the improved accuracy doesn't make up for the small caliber and small shell volume (same with Slava TBH) but in randoms it gets an S for fun.
Reason he said it, and he explained it in some later vids, at least if your talking about PQ, that he was first up just burnt out from the game, and that he got absolutly atrocious rng in his first impressions vids. By now he absolutly loves her.
Spitting facts man, well done. CCs always harp on about battleship inconsistency and state it's for balance purposes. Then WG throw this bad boy down and the CCs say it's mediocre - blows my mind, I WISH I had this boat.
thanks. bb playerbase like i said is ridiculous more than the other class main players. torp dds are trained to miss 90% of torps and get radar fucked, and cruiser players are trained to blow up at any angle. bbs are easiest class to perform in consistently and have the most brain damaged playerbase playing them for the most part. it is what it is.

I’d love to get 32mm midsection for cruisers like Des Moines, Gouden, Agir, etc that are larger and tend to be more positionally played in comparison to the lighter cruisers. Soviet cruisers already get this armor that allows them to play positionally.
Also, the most demented citadel I’ve ever gotten with Wisconsin is a killing shot on a GK, while he was angling away at 21km, 50-55 degrees. I audibly thought that shit was never supposed to happen…no commiserations from the in game chat when nobody else knew what happened either
I'm not opposed to Des Moine never getting more armor as the DPM is dementedly overpowered, even tacitly admitted to by wargaming since they've basically never made a cruiser line with even half the effective DPM of Des Moines. But completely agree all "large cuisers" that take 60s fires should have 32 mid and icebreakers.
@@hagostaeldmann One very important thing about DM these days is that the range effectiveness and passive play makes using all of your dpm cancer, which is why personally i dont play my dm anymore because it's so easy for people to focus you alongside carrier/sub pressure.
Battleships alongside dumb overmatch just sit in spawn 18-20km away so you can never even shoot them
USNplayerbase will always suffer with a dockyard Slava that has actual survivability, reload booster, and Halsey because why not
Wisconsin is truly an unsurvivable ship (highest survive rate of any battleship I own)

The Wisconsin reminds me of when Jean Bart was first released. Insane firepower for its tier combined with good speed and concealment. Back then most cruisers didn't have 27mm casemate plating so you still overmatched a lot. The boat would just vomit out high speed shells that could clap people at any range. The all foreward guns + speed boost let you abuse islands and angle tank ships that lacked effective HE dpm. Whenever you were top tier you could just run over anyone who wasn't a musashi or us/german heavy cruiser.
I like your videos. I think there decent. I'd be happy if all the American bbs were that accurate lol the salvos your getting are great. Plus Montana has a 23 second rudder. Wisconsin looks way more enjoyable to play
thats a lot of it. not only is whisky overall better in randoms damage output its so much more comfy to play with much better conceal speed maneuverability.

Just finished grinding it, 1st game (im really mediocre player) straight for nearly 200k dmg, kept citadeling ships across the map at 22km or slightly less. Accuracy is pretty amazing, its tanky as long you dont show your side (which is honestly good thing, ships should have clear weaknesses), and gimmick is busted. And something I didnt hear anyone mention, this thing is fast, like holy shit, as long you are not spotted its doing 37.5kts, thats pretty damn bonkers. I have no damn idea how this thing is "mediocre", dunno if I would call it op, with subs, cvs and superships on every corner, but its most definitely a really good (and fun) ship.
its op in the sense that nothing can really kill it 1v1, farmers cannot eat thru the healing/dcp use and other bbs get out traded for the most part.
A bit late to get your review. May I ask for the build you use? Mods&Upgrades: coal dcpm1, dcsm1, aprm1, dcsm2, csm1 & aprm2? Cpt build: GF&ERS, GTG&AAD and ASW Expert, AR, CE and what?

DCP coal mod i use on every bb in the game that has 15s + base dcp duration because its nuts and basically hard counters sub ping letting you turn out instant. rest of equipment is normal for american bb. for captain i use standard full tank build
@@hagostaeldmann anti ss strat means what exactly? First ping, hard rudder full speed and instant drp use?
@@kelestra1 yes, because if the sub will either be max depth and the torps cannot rise, or the sub will be launching for your nose if you're nose in. 23-31s dcp allows you to insta DCP and immediately turn out which is basically not possible with 15s dcp. obviously not being able to be lit on fire for 23-31s is good too, but the hard counter to sub pings is crucial

You're totally right. Playing as a cruiser is just a fucking nightmare and usually an unpleasant experience (similar for dds because of plane spotting) but can be fun very occasionally if you actually get the right conditions. I've had exact same experience where you play a cruiser and like 1 mn in you're plane spotted and getting shot at and you have to literally ask yourself well wtf could I reasonably have done to avoid this and the only reasonable answer is there's nothing I could have done, the game is just badly designed in many ways.
I believe toptier used this video. Congrats to you, sir, for the record at the moment. I've also seen a lot of hate to it. But I've also heard this is the 2nd most accurate bb in the game after Slava.
Yeah, A lot of what you're saying about this ship is that it is great without the funny button, but the button makes it insane. Honestly I agree with this take. As a Bourgogne enjoyer, anything with a reload booster is pretty insane, but this button doubles as an improved consumable colldown button too.
Also Bourgogne's reload booster is 20 seconds btw

keep the mic it adds some kind of flair plus its pretty clear, plus I think it has better aa than the worcester also I agree that some of the shots u took at the ca at the beginning I would have definitely get all overpens in a monty, also that was such a great gameplay 5 mins into the match and u're already at 100k dmg

true but then you play in tier 7 against tier 9s the most broken 2 tier difference and honestly the most busted premiums in the game are in mid tiers

it makes it really easy to lead angled targets especially with spotter plane up
its actually pretty easy, just like regular horizontal measure, but you compare the direction enemy is going with on of the lines
