- Hi all, let's try something different today. Today I'll show you how to conduct the VOR Visual approach for runway 05 at Madeira (FNC/LPMA).
This is one of the most challenging appraaches in Europe, but with some tipps and tricks you can master it. I'll show you how.

Think to configure your Sidestick with AP soft disconnect in order not to have the continuous chime. This approach should be done with AT ON due to wind gusts and in order not to have the SPEED SPEED warning add 5 knots to the computed VLS on your FMS otherwise great landing :)
Thanks Chris! I just can't get the soft disconnect to work, I have assigned it (and it works with any other aircraft), but nothing happens when I press the button.
I'll keep the A/T in mind on my next one. Thanks for the advise again!
@@A330Driver For my sidestick I have mapped Autopilot Off function in control options and it works exactly as it should ;)

Schön das mal "by the numbers" zu sehen, bisher hab ich das eher Pi mal Daumen gemacht, und in 1 von 3 Fällen gings ;-)

Wow man i loved it, im from Madeira Island, raised with full sight of the approach, i couldnt understant at what speed you where landing and how did you manage to use the spoiler while piloting, i could never touch the ground this slow without stalling 😢
Great video, I really enjoy the conciseness of your tutorials! Minor thing but as far as I know, you would always disconnect the AP directly on the sidestick, not on the FCU. This will also prevent the ECAM warning that you had to clear after disengaging the AP in this video.
That's correct Lucas, but for a reason that's beyond me the disconnect command in my simulator (that works on any other airplane) does not work with the Fenix. Neither the joystick command, nor the keyboard command.

Was ich nicht verstehe … sinkt man manuell Richtung Gelo und Rosario auf 850 ft oder wie funktioniert das, der Autopilot wurde ja ausgeschaltet? Ich schaffe es nicht diese Höhen an den Wegpunkten zu haben. Mach doch bitte mal den gleichen Anflug mit der 737 pmdg.
Could you do a tutorial on communication with ATC? Fromt A to B
It's be close to impossible to cover any country in the world in such a tutorial since the regional differences are too big. But if I only cover a certain part of the world there will for sure be people running into issues if they try to use those procedures elsewhere. I'll have to keep thinking about it, but for now I don't see how such a tutorial would be realistically possible.

Why did you enter 211 in thr radio at 3:41? Is this the course? Is it not 219?
If you are referring to a chart on Navigraph you need to make sure you are on the VOR Visual Approach rather than the RNP Visual Approach. Should be 12-18. Then you will find the 211 course :)
