    Since you asked for feedback, I am comfortable sharing. I would really like to see a nice updated 8 (or so) port full POE switch. I have a number of the CRS112-8P-4S-IN switches in use, and it is a perfectly decent switch, but an updated version would be well received I believe. Something at least in the 300 range that can be configured much more like the CRS328-24P-4S+RM. I have a lot of those in use, and love them.

    That 12 x SFP28 + 2 x QSFP28 looks pretty pleasing. Hopefully not too long to wait before that is available in switch format.

      Yeah, break out cables are just not as effective. Let's say I want 3x10 and 1x25, hard to do on most breakouts and even if they claim to support it compatibility is a huge headache.

    ISP Here, 48 Port SFP switches would be nice for increased density in POP's :) 24 ports is kinda low in streetside cabinets nowadays.

    Thanks - so you could do POE in and not use the two power supplies? I'd love for it to be silent. Also this is a great idea for an affordable switch - any way you could make one like it but with an additional 10Gbit port?

    @Normunds is the Mikrotik team working on an SDWAN controller to manage 100s of Mikrotik devices from a web portal. Also, it will be nice if you could make a tutorial on Controller Bridge and Port Extender.

      This undoubtedly fits in a rack with the rack accessory (ears).
      The width of the unit without ears is 12.5 Inches (320mm).
      10" is too small, hobbyist rack.

      Sure, if it's in your budget and your devices can use QSFP modules. Most home setups use plain RJ45 and ethernet, in that case, we have some lower cost switches too. Ask your local supplier: mikrotik.com/buy/

    Nice and flexible for small organization.
    But my favourite question is: Will we have anytime soon an TLS/SSL/HTTPS firewall with application and service filtering functions.
    We have lots of people moving to FG/Sophos because of this.

    The complete setup requires 100gbe NICs with a Windows 11 driver. Current NICs cost more than this switch.

      Not necessarily, depends on your setup. Maybe you just need to connect two locations with many 10Gbit devices in each location.

    100G DC switches are useless without DCBx and VXLAN BGP-EVPN support. You have the hardware, but please make the software better!

      But cable mess is universally reviled. Power cords belong in the rear.

      @@cyrylthewolf this is designed to fit in Road-Side-Cabinets used by telecommunication providers. These cabinets often ONLY have a front door. This design is very common for professional telco equipment, look at the Juniper MX80, MX104 ad Nokia SAS line as examples
      By having front mount PSU's this will work in road-side-cabinets as well as traditional datacentres.
