I love the sneaky wire cutters clip, great quick informative video
Love your work. In my company we're using rb and sw mktk for all our network. I love mktk hardware!! Let's winbox 🔥🔥
The unlisted pre-release video, strikes again.
I will buy this product just to create a use-case for it.
Very cool. Congrats on your achievements!
CRS112 refresh, whit a bit more juice for L3 and other processing.
Yep, a crs112 8p with vlan filtering.
The current vlan configurations are a pain in the ass
2.5 Gb & 5 Gb switch at a reasonable price?
Awesome Video !! Thank you!
Since you asked for feedback, I am comfortable sharing. I would really like to see a nice updated 8 (or so) port full POE switch. I have a number of the CRS112-8P-4S-IN switches in use, and it is a perfectly decent switch, but an updated version would be well received I believe. Something at least in the 300 range that can be configured much more like the CRS328-24P-4S+RM. I have a lot of those in use, and love them.
That 12 x SFP28 + 2 x QSFP28 looks pretty pleasing. Hopefully not too long to wait before that is available in switch format.
Yeah, break out cables are just not as effective. Let's say I want 3x10 and 1x25, hard to do on most breakouts and even if they claim to support it compatibility is a huge headache.
there is the MikroTik CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM with 16x sfp28 and 2x qsfp28
Nice. Just what I need. Hopefully in few years we will get 6 or 8 ports in same price as this one basically.
I love mikrotik ❤
Well done Mikrotik team, keep up the good work. We are looking forward to WiFI 6
Don't bother with wifi 6 if there will be no 802.11 k/v/r
@@KnaufL I am sure the Mikrotik team is working on it and it's only a matter of time till we start seeing them. I remember requesting for 100Gbps routers and they have delivered.
@@shokowillard i think that it's too late for that, everyone that does serious wireless systems uses aruba, ubiquity, ruckus, and even apple for wifi
ISP Here, 48 Port SFP switches would be nice for increased density in POP's :) 24 ports is kinda low in streetside cabinets nowadays.
Yes, this
True
@Jean-Simon Chénard i just purchased ccr1016 😪 but it works well
@Jean-Simon Chénard my first mikrotik was hap lite. Then rb3011. Then last this ccr1016 😅
Why no 48 port SFP+ switch?
Wowwwww 😃. Now I need to upgrade my lab
✌️✌️✌️
@03:00
Norm, you're a genius
love this switch. Will MikroTik make an 8-Port version of this??
CRS310-8P-2S+-IN
CCR2004-16P-2S+
in this form factor would be amazing for ISP's
This is going to be interesting...
Excelent switch! Will there be CCR model with 4 or more SFP+ ports and some GbEs?
Thanks - so you could do POE in and not use the two power supplies? I'd love for it to be silent. Also this is a great idea for an affordable switch - any way you could make one like it but with an additional 10Gbit port?
It might be a bit of a waste, but can the breakout cables do 4xSFP+ to link to legacy 10G switches?
Waiting on a RB5009 but with more (2-4) SFP+ ports
When is the passive and 48V-version of the CCR2004 ready?
I hope to see a gpon olt powered by mikrotik routeros
I hope one day you will develop and produce GPON equipment, at least GPON ONTs with WiFi
Does it Support MSTP in SWOS?
We need what i like to call a " lab " switch . say 4 10gig ports 10-12 1gig ports with full PoE, with a nice CPU so it can run router OS + capsman .
can you handle olt network?
Very cool, but there is no cap XL, CapAC on sale, not in one country... Where to buy what you have made?
@Normunds is the Mikrotik team working on an SDWAN controller to manage 100s of Mikrotik devices from a web portal. Also, it will be nice if you could make a tutorial on Controller Bridge and Port Extender.
I hope the 100g switch is fanless, that one thing that keep me buying mikrotik's switchs, since no other brand can do that
Change all of them to Noctua’s. That is what I did.
Hi Normis 😆
I want a router version of the CRS312-4C+8XG and I want wifi6/6E APs. After waiting for years I'm very close to just buying Unify Wifi6 APs.
OMG !!!
It's an unlisted video but here we are 😄
What's the form factor? Will it fit into a 10" rack?
This undoubtedly fits in a rack with the rack accessory (ears).
The width of the unit without ears is 12.5 Inches (320mm).
10" is too small, hobbyist rack.
😥
Здравствуйте! Хотелось бы видеть в линейке 8 или 16 х 100 GBit устройство по адекватной стоимости.
Is this good to use for home networking? currently looking to install ethernet in my property
Sure, if it's in your budget and your devices can use QSFP modules. Most home setups use plain RJ45 and ethernet, in that case, we have some lower cost switches too. Ask your local supplier: mikrotik.com/buy/
need many more ports!! this should be perfect for spine switch in a clos-IP fabric! but needs more ports :)
more 100g interfaces please !!!
10g nic and switch for home pc at affordable cost. affordable cost means same as that of gigabit setup...
wow 100Gbps……that’s crazy
what about wifi6 and r/v/k ? 2022 outside
Sir, this is a switch
@@mikrotik yes, this is the switch. but there are 2022 with wifi6 and rvk :) the switch is great! great job
crs305 with 4 10gig Ethernet ports.
Nice and flexible for small organization.
But my favourite question is: Will we have anytime soon an TLS/SSL/HTTPS firewall with application and service filtering functions.
We have lots of people moving to FG/Sophos because of this.
No plans, this is not really a function for a router
@@mikrotik understand that... but then do you plan to have FW device which can integrate with MT routers & switches?
By the way we still do not have port security. When this will be fixed?
!!
Please, affordable PoE switch with redundant power lineup!
Like this one? mikrotik.com/product/crs112_8p_4s_in
@@mikrotik Needs more Marvell ;)
The complete setup requires 100gbe NICs with a Windows 11 driver. Current NICs cost more than this switch.
Not necessarily, depends on your setup. Maybe you just need to connect two locations with many 10Gbit devices in each location.
100G DC switches are useless without DCBx and VXLAN BGP-EVPN support. You have the hardware, but please make the software better!
Thanks for the suggeations. We are already considering BGP-EVPN.
Dual port 100G + 12 port 10G Copper + 8x 25G SFP28.. Please please please
This thing would be amazing if it had 4 SFP+ ports.
Heh...
Even 100Gbps seems slow nowadays.
THE NEED FOR SPEED :D
Let’s be honest it could of cost less.
Can you name a few cheaper ones? We can’t just give out free stuff, the 100Gbit chips cost a lot
WHY...are the power supplies in the front? WHY do we still do this in this day and age? Ugh.
For easy access when they are in a rack mount
@@mikrotik I've never seen a rack in a data center whose rear isn't accessible.
But cable mess is universally reviled. Power cords belong in the rear.
@@cyrylthewolf this is designed to fit in Road-Side-Cabinets used by telecommunication providers. These cabinets often ONLY have a front door. This design is very common for professional telco equipment, look at the Juniper MX80, MX104 ad Nokia SAS line as examples
By having front mount PSU's this will work in road-side-cabinets as well as traditional datacentres.
Same here. Understandable that there are cabinets without rear access, but would love a unit with the power supplies in the rear.
Wifi 6?
Sir, This is a switch
@@mikrotik this is the joke.
True pain in such a simple question
Lol
The voice does not match with the person. The person in the video is not the same person speaking and not synchronized exactly either.
So... the real Normunds has been hidden somewhere for years, away from the public eye... but why?
lol, I should have wrote what I meant that it seems the audio recording was sequenced over the video and the mouth movements are not aligned and now I see the word "news" and now I'm questioning maybe that is why, because Wall Street, lol, Wall Street, where did you hide Normunds?
mikrotik come back, there is money in Russia or we will buy a huawei
Latvia is in the European Union. The European Union covers Mikrotik's products in their sanctions on advanced semiconductors. Russia's money is covered in the blood of innocents. Keep it.
@@CarlTSpeak Let's see what you will say at the end of the year, when all European companies will return to Russia, because money does not smell.
I love the sneaky wire cutters clip, great quick informative video
Ive been thinking about buying a switch and doing a video. That 8 port SFP+ switch specifically!
Спасибо за санкции.
You're so welcome. Sorry there aren't more of them but give it time and some more massacres of innocent civilians and this might change.
